This game is great when it runs in the background. It practically plays itself
I havent played in a while, I think I'll start a new playthrough. Any user suggestions on what to roleplay as? Last time I was a slave who became a solo traveler and murder. Want to do something diff this time.
Is this game worth pirating?
Make a band of traveling monks who use nothing but their fists.
Easily exploitable. You can pretty much run the game in the background and level up your stats. Thats what i'm doing right now. The answer is yes.
I have 50h in this game and i don't know what to do anymore. What I do now is only kidnapping members of big factions and see their faction collapse.
At first the game is bad then good then bad
That does sound fun, I will try it.
just sucks leveling up martial arts. I keep dying.
Fuck these religious assholes.
I always make a perma death character to make things more spicy, but I also know how to stay alive, even with that solo character. The key imo is high athletics. My dude ran so god damn fast, but when with a group, the speeds differ so much its easy to get caught and things start going heywire. Which is fine if youre only fighting starving bandits, cause they dont eat your corpse. So once you fight stronger stuff the key is to know when to disengage and run like a bitch.
So my plan, in a few minutes, is to get a group ASAP and train their athletics together so they will be just as fast.
Depends on how many people you have.. inevitably you’ll come back to find that someone has died
You just have to run a lot with no encumbrance to get higher athletics, right? Maybe I should drop all these shackles.
I recently started a new game in the stenn desert, on the town of Squin. Just farmed copper/iron outside. Bought a house i'm using for reaserch and smithing. Dunno where to build near there to actually get my own iron plates. I saw some sort of crater nearby but not sure if it's viable
Life is hard bros.
the crater up north? that place is fucked
those big fucking birb-things massacared the bugpeople living there
Ya no encumbrance is athletics, high enc is str. I felt so clever when I discovered the shackle trick, so many little details. Tip that you might want to discover on your own:
dont forget to steal food in prison, you can be well fed while being a slave instead of having a major stat penalty for starving
biggest gripe with the game is its too quiet. really wish there was more music.
whats the trick to stealing food? These guys keep seeing me.
Bottom left of the exile camp under squin.
Seems waytoo manmade for it to be clear of dangers
Shit. Meant the waystation, not Squin.
>pick a slaves shackles
>pick his cage
>release him, let him run free
>go back into your cage like a good little boy while he stands around like a retard
While in your cage at night, turn stealth on, even while standing still you gain XP in it.
U become super ninja pretty quick, then go out at night and feast
It's always fun to rp as a cuck in these games
oh sweet gonna do that now.
how do you do that?
Am I a massive faggot for wanting quality of life features like the game auto pausing when an enemy is spotted/combat starts and highlighting of dead bodies when you hold down ALT etc?
I love the game, but fuck some of it is so fucking janky once you start trying to multitask different groups on different parts of the map.
You can also increase your assassination skill on the slaves on poles, eventually you can knock out a guard, steal their uniform, and lock them in a cage.
holy shit this actually works
*thunk*
ooh that's a nice place
there are a lot of copper and some iron nodes and the land is fertile too
Ill get him eventually
Dont just steal food either, you steal bowls and pots, everything around you. When ur inventory is full stash it in one of the boxes in the room. You can even steal again from the box for stealing XP. Eventually you can Sneak into the guard tower, steal weapons and a uniform, and train up on the guard dummy on the 2nd floor of the tower.
oh shit
Praise be to Okran's Bootcamp!
Cool. I never really dwelled into making a proper base. On average how many people would you recommend per outpost? Defenders wise rather than machine operators.
Why is it so ugly?
Idk, I'm a noob too
started with 5 bugs and bought a "nice" home in Squin, then joined the thieves
oh shit
I got a follower that claimed to be a fucking deadshot. Fucker hits his teammates more often than my rookies
Yeah I know what you mean. IIRC, the music system is meant to be dynamic but most of the time it's just quiet.
I just play with the sound off and listen to podcasts while grinding skills now.
Is it possible to play the game all alone or do you eventually have to get a party together?
my nigger. i've been listening to the Joe Rogan podcast. Super comfy.
I don't think you have to do anything particular in such game.
well, that didnt go so great
getting your shit kicked in is np cause u get tougher, but if you dont want to get ur shit kicked in when caught, just run into the nearest cage and have a little cat and mouse game with the guards, the moment they go back to sleep you start stealing their tendies.
day 12 in the tendie mines. my mind is breaking apart. please send help.
fuck, had to load cause he cut nig's sands right arm off cause he was sneaking while obeying orders
thats good though, robot arms.
looks like my runs over boys
how far can you level up martial arts? Can you fight monsters with fists?
Kenshi is a terribly designed game.
Combat is boring, the "tactics" are all kiting shitty AI/exploiting animations.
Progression is fucking awful. You start with fucking 1 in every stat and you have to grind to raise them. Everyone just does exploits and calls them "strategies" too.
And there is hardly and quests/narrative. It's just wandering around a depopulated MMO.
Thats what i'm wondering. Leveling up that shit takes forever.
If you dont like it, thats fine. Its just not your cup of tea
Sure, but dont expect to be a one man killing machine.
these guards seem...kinda sexist.
Unless you level up strengh and martial arts so you can swanton bomb the fuck out of everyone.
That's because they are.
based
have a great night, anons.
wtf I do in this game?
my first run went as bad as i expected. currently getting my ass beat into a coma repeatedly as a slave. 10/10
get a big squad and mess people up
work durring the day. lockpick yourself free at night sneak around get food and free other slaves so they distract guards.
t. really bad goyim
and i was just going to sneak out once i was bored
theyll fix up fine
Build a city, ravage the wastes, skin the skin bandits, forget to pray on sunday and get murdered.
Kenshi more like Shit
>you have to grind your skills for hours until your party can defeat a starving bandit
>huge game world but almost every biome is the same looking desert
>nothing to do until you can build your own base
>you can't build your own base without afromentioned grind unless you want to have it destroyed instantly
>barely any dialogue
cry more baby
I have no idea what the fuck am I doing, I just travel, steal and hire random fucks I can afford
it doesnt take long to fight a starving bandit. but theyre generally in large groups, so of course theyll fuck you up at that point
stay mad witcher baby
Just for the record. If you level your shit insanely high in bootcamp, and cause a lot of damage to the holy nation (which you will if you plan to level offensive abilities at all), your bounty will be astronomical once you escape.
post base
Is this the power of PC?
>And they think these are all negatives
You just listed out the game's positive features dickbags.
game looks like something from 2002 lmao
gimme the easiest way to start
preferably solo
I have never built a base. I keep putting it off.
Make a skelly and rp as necrons and only recruit other skellys
Easiest, almost cheat tier start is as a slave (you literally can't die or starve to death). Normal start is the wanderer. Hardest is rock bottom, guy with dog, and holy sword (high tier weapon isn't worth a bounty with the safest early game cities).
start as a slave, its ez mode
What lovely skin you all have. Would any of you be willing to donate some to a perfectly normal skin-clad human such as myself?
okay I will try slave, thank you kind user
Oh, and just as a rule of thumb, solo starts are harder, except the cannibal hunters, since you'll unlikely survive with 2 people in that one, or at all for that matter. Don't get too attached to your starter guy by the way, he's no more special than anyone else, it's fine if he dies as long as you have some one else so you don't game over.
You all hired /ourboi/ full price, right Yea Forums?
>holy sword (high tier weapon isn't worth a bounty with the safest early game cities).
Holy sword isn't that bad imo, but the high tier weapon is worthless since you can't hit shit at the beginning.
>character gets enslaved
>they lock her in a cage and never let her out a single time
>her skill is too low to pick the lock
>finally have another character sneak some tools in to her so she can break herself out
>once she breaks out, no guards give a fuck and she doesnt have escaped slave or ex-slave status
wtf happened?
Tips for kicking off? Ive been mining next to the hub and following parols around to grind skills.
Just me that is getting a bit frustrated with this game? You just die randomly from wandering giga-hordes of animals/bandits, and you are SO bad at fighting that you can't win against even a pack of goats
where can I find a decent link to torrent this fucking game.
in many villages and towns you will find something resembling a storage area, steal shit from them to get free food and materials
u were a good girl and served your sentence, let out for good behavior
Installing an xp multiplier mod was the greatest decision I ever made. The amount of grinding the vanilla game expects you to do is nothing short of absurd.
for posterity
It being an uchi instead of a katana is just not worth it. Uchi are hot garbage before higher level stats. It's honestly just not worth it, especially considering you can get the strongest melee weapon at 0 stats like 3 days in if you hard level stealth and assassination then go steal the meito katana.
>cheater cheater pumpkin eater
buy it. something unique like this deserves support
5x? I use 20x
you leave pumpkin eaters out of this
>shackle trick
What is this trick?, I wanted to try a martial arts run but didn't want to go through the long grind
Crossbows break the game. Stealth and assassination break the game. It takes a very short amount to power level stealth and assassination, and you can have every armor and weapon for free, since it's insanely easy to steal. Crossbows are the best combat weapon at any level against any enemy, if you have a group of them, you can take opponents that can solo your group of 10.
lockpick shackle, put it in inventory, get caught, guards put new shackle, rinse and repeat. Each shackle weights 20kg iirc, you are now overburnered and will gain str while performing slave duties.
when you unlock your shackles, instead fo dropping them, keep them in you inventory. guards will just give you some new ones for your feet and you repeat the process. when your encumbrance is high, running around and doing stuff increases your strength
>Abandoned by dev after release
>Will literally get no new stuff ever, not even paid DLCs
>Longevity will rely solely on mods
>But then modding is limited and shit
What's there left to support?
>mods work on pirated version
>devs said they won't update the game anymore
why buy it?
If you want to avoid cheesing the game, the best thing to do is rush headfirst into starving bandits and let them beat the Christ out of you. Starving bandits don't carry bladed weapons, so they won't kill you, and you'll level the most important stat, toughness. Once you have high toughness you can start putting up a fight. Avoid every heavy weapon and armor, they need too much stats to wield, heavy armor will get you killed before you have 50+ in all stats. Once you have 10 to 20 stats, start fighting river raptors, and recruit anyone you can. Once you have a small group (3+) of people with 15+ stats, you're free to explore the world without being essentially a naked toddler.
AVOID
BONEDOGS
why wont they keep supporting it?
Dang he really say hes gonna completely stop working on it? I'm not too surprised the poor fuck has been working on it for a decade, time for him to spend all the money on hookers and cocaine, take a break
because they are a bunch of hacks who gave the delusional fanbase a half baked piece of shit with no real content
not according to a few tweets down
Consider also lifting some one while your inventory is full to get the maximum encumbrance possible for insanely fast STR leveling.
Let the bandits get you. KOs put points in your Toughness. And the little fight you put out puts exp on their stats as well.
Just don't lose a limb or get enslaved. But even losing limbs and slavery has its benefits.
Do not take on animals though, they'll eat you.
Big tip to all the newbies, avoid blunt weapons. The more cut damage a weapon has, the better it is.
They've moved on to new projects.
I see, ur just a butthurt faggot
what are the most versatile weapon classes? So far I pick up random shit hoping it will work (it doesn't)
This game looks Interesting but how loli can you make your character?
I build my first base in the Shek city near hub. After some time, slaver attack and as I get into a fight I somehow harm a Shek guard and they take my MCs leg. I had to leave her sleeping for ingame months while I found a leg in one of the bug cities. Now my mission is to burn the Shek city to the ground.
A guy on 8gag had loli presets for the jrpg character mod
You can make the characters short and have juvenile looking bodies but you cant do shit about the adult as fuck faces
i haver a character that uses katanas, which have -30 armor penetration, so i gave them a spiked club as a backup weapon that has +30 armor penetration. do i have to take the main weapon out of its slot for them to use the club? i cant imagine they would just switch against armored opponents. the club is also worse indoors, so i hope the backup weapon slot doesnt switch solely when youre indoors
Crossbows > huge powergap > cut damage > martial arts > huge powergap > blunt damage. Even if you want to go heavy weapons, you pick the heavy weapons with more cut damage than blunt. Keep in mind, for heavy weapons, you need to have STR that's double their weight to be able to hit with them, so heavy weapons are essentially mid and late game weapons only. Polearms are good early game, because they have bonus damage against animals.
How to find cities?
Secondary weapon slot is for indoors combat. They'll switch to it once they're indoors, and their main weapon has an indoor penalty. Sell the spiked shit and get yourself a hacker class weapon for armored opponents.
Saber has + defense which is nice if you wanna not get raped as easily, but my favorite were the giant GUTS swords, you could really fuck up groups. Then indoors it will auto switch to your wakizashi or whatever katana you got with +indoor bonus. On my solo character I always carried a crossbow with me to kite suff, then paused and switched to whatever weapon. I made sure to train my Dex and Str a lot, sometimes while fighting faggot bandits you can use your katana to get dex for instance.
you can buy maps in some places, usually traveling supply shops. otherwise you have to wander around aimlessly until you stumble upon one
Polearms are also fucking great for solo runs.
They're essentially the best weapon for untrained recruits, yeah. Great damage, need next to no stat, amazing reach, good against most common enemies. Worthless indoors and against anything with armor though. Also, a waste on some one with high stats, since faster weapons are better.
>traveling supply shops
i mean travel supply shops. i dont remember if traveling caravans carry maps or not
High level martial arts can aoe de-limb people
MA is also worthless early on, and very hard and risky to level (can't wear good armor). Yeah, it's OP late game, but getting there is the problem.
I wish there was a mod that lets you spar against squad members.
When fighting the giant bird-giraffes monsters, never gang up on them. Have someone with a high defense skill solo them. A single fighter can block attacks, but everyone not the target will eat a fuck ton of splash damage, regardless of whether it was blocked or not.
too bad hes a shitter
Someone explain bounties please. I saw the tutorial notification but i missed who it was refering to. How do i spot them, where do i tak them.
The bounty is shown in their info box when you click them, hover to see which faction wants them then carry them to a police station in that factions towns
When someone has a bounty,; you can see it on the above the character's name, and if you use the pointer, you can see which faction the bounty is associated with, then you can collect the bounty by picking up the unconscious bandit and bringing him the one of the faction's police station
You can have bounties on yourself if you're caught stealing
Mind you that you have to bring them alive most of the time. Only specific "bounties", generally on non human creatures, require you to carry their head or some other trophy
>ITS GOOD WITH MODS!
>day 19
God this is tedious
freedom will taste that much sweeter brother
It's cheating with mods
>jrpg character mod
Wait, you got a link for that? The main thing putting me off from the game was how ugly everyone looked
You are still starving, steal their tendies you nagger.
Look at your STR, you will be a beast if you eat something. And unlock and take off your shackles when you sneak, they penalize it too.
Martial arts if you want to invest the time, otherwise crossbows for a start since kiting is decent and you can train melee on the survivors when they wake up.
The trick is you level it on people you've beaten already as they're waking up. MA at 50 is better than pretty much everything at 100. Honestly might be better to avoid it for a challenge
I'd say MA is better than cutting by a fair bit, especially considering you don't need to find/make any good weapons. But I guess that balances out with the early training
>shackles penalize stealth
oh shit nigger, think its just encumbrance.
against human trash is it better to use katanas or sabres?
Are hackers worth anything or should I ditch them and switch to heavies?
Cause in your pic you have 2 sealth -32, get rid of encumbrance and shackles and you will be a little ninja faggot.
And your str is 6 - 23, you will have 29 str when you eat.
You are almost ready to take over.
My main guy has a katana and a waki and fucking murders cannibal packs by himself. Can't do shit against robots but that's what the paladin cross wielding Shek in my squad are for
If i built a small shack and research table next to a larger settlement and grind research, will it transfer over to my real settlement i build later
aiight, i'll take your advice
>painstakingly customize my first character
>give all the others strange looking bodies and shit names
>grow attached to the crew in the end anyway
Turbo Manlet can run at sanic speeds and repair things, he's my favrit
Ya research is part of your "account", any faggot anyhwere in your squad can research for you
There are little to no mods for this game, retard. What are you even talking about.
about 6 hours in, how am I doing so far?
I"M POWERING UP AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
How do I stop squads of hungry hungry bandits from killing my squad?
Looks good except for the corset
Thanks Nig
Where do I buy heavy plate with 100% coverage?
>when your character achieves god status
Just buy a house inside a town for that, or your shack will be raided.
holy shit is this a mod?
>built a big ass outpost so the river raptors couldn't find their way to the very end where the farms were
>they did it anyway
fug, i should stop putting off building crossbows and turrets
I've been making a living by selling raptor skins, cooked vegetables and black dragon katanas, living near Bad Teeth with roaming paladins makes for ez kiting.
i'll probably abandon this playthrough at some point and start a new game when i actually buy it
>cheating
>in a singleplayer sandbox game about making your own fun
Can you run this shit in a toaster?
you can run it on a potato
Nope. In fact you'll die of old age before a loading screen is done if you don't install this shit in a SSD
No. Its one of the last places you generally head towards.
Adult mods when?
what towns have houses I can buy? So far I wasn't able to see one despite traveling quite a lot
According to Steam Workshop there are currently 2,379 of them
Na. Reason for the lo-fi graphics is that the game is mem/process hog especially if you're running an above 50 character squad placed allover the map.
I don't have a SSD and never had to wait long
You can click on structures in a town and at the bottom right of their info hud there's a price you can click to buy the property.
time to steal some food boys
cheating yourself out of the entertainment value and point of the game, i.e. overcoming great adversity
Solo play is rough. Even for the solo player enthusiast, I would recommend a sidekick who just patches you up when you go down or rescues you from getting eaten alive, etc.
You can make the music play more often its in one of the options default is 5 minutes iirc
>not running with maxed grafx
still looks like shit woah
How about you overcum the great adversity that is my dick, faggot.
Most towns have two houses to sell
I recommend buying in Squin, one house at 12000 has all the place you need for an in-town camp to do research, training your new recruits and buying materials and books
I'll pass
rood
I found this ballin ass sword thing fighting a CUHRAZY ninja that I needed two merc companies along with my decently skilled squad to take her down
so is 1 more often? or is 1 less often?
There is one that removes the top bandages on the female model.
When am I ready for the fog islands?
Dude. Nice..
Yep but you are weak af till mid 50s and wont be able to solo the most difficult stuff till master gear and 90s combat skills
As soon as you have a couple well trained dudes, fogmen drop like flies, especially if you got a dude with a large heavy weapon
Yes. Compressed textures, reduced weather effects and clutter mods help a lot.
What about sex slaves?
>take residence in sho-battai
>mine copper and train skills, research
>do this for a long fucking time, finally decide to head out
>have two non-human squad mates, so avoid holy territory and head south
>miraculously make it past the ashlands
>find a town but cant do anything because stepping five feet outside the gates gets my shit kicked in
>slog back through the ashlands to go back to my base and free some of my bros from slavery
>finally make it, my non-humans are dead, all thats left are me, my pooch, and a qt
will my female companion be tolerated in the holy lands, or will they eventually end up aggrod because of her?
What are the best mods?
Watch out for the fog heavies. They'll beat your ass and then eat you. They carry clubs instead of those iron sticks, but otherwise don't look to different.
Always have a backup guy to stealth and save people, unless you want to watch your boys get eaten alive.
THAT obviously.

nice/nice
Doesn't look like a player town/10
How do I enslave people instead of buying them?
How bad are they?
Where did you get those sweet ass towers
Near the hub
Find a map online my lad
They have about 30 in everything.
Can you pick fights with fellow inmates in Rebirth? They keep running away whenever I try to start something.
thanks
the watchtowers? you need to research them but they are pretty early game if I recall correctly
As long as you have the holy flame on you, your female companion will be fine
how to?
can i get that outside of the holy land territory, or can i count on the holy land gestapo to give me a copy?
>tfw went overboard and my town has about 80 people in it
migrating from holy nation green to ashlands is going to be a bitch
Khazukan Kazakit HA
You can just buy it from shops. Sometimes they give you a free copy if you claim you misplaced yours.
just steal it from one of their farms or somewhere
Couldn't you just set up a second base instead? Why migrate?
>build a small "tavern" in my town, leave it open and public
>caravans and drifters coming to my place still just wander around and get stuck for weeks around the fields or air generators
>my characters now sit in the tavern instead of the hangout spaces I have in the private buildings when not busy
At this point why do you even want to leave this prison?
You get food, have a stable job and can unleash your frustration on guards or pole people.
with the boys
lets go boys
because ashlands is where big boys turn into men
and i need all 80 of them to be men in order to conquer the world and activate the berzerker assault requirement
>the berzerker assault requirement
What's that?
lucky, i dont even get visitors
I left to unleash havoc and destruction upon the holy empire
jesus christ boys i give up
Which fishing mod to get?
fuckit guys, I'm taking the plunge, I'ma buy Kenshi, whats the best way to start out and get your bearings?
i dont know, i just heard that it happens when you destroy every major faction and turn the world into chaos
>havoc and destruction upon the holy empire
The default start is the way to go. Once you die start again with something diff. Or savescum and keep on keeping on, you start in a relatively safe noob """"friendly"""" area compared to other starts.
Heavy weapons is actually one of the easiest starting weapons, only beaten by polearms.
>play
Number is how many minutes go between each track
Go for the start where you start out one armed with nothing in the desert
It'll get you nice and used to just how cruel the game can be
Or go for the slave start and spend a good while in captivity getting used to the controls and levelling your character a little
youve been told multiple times to steal some fucking food so you dont have the like 75%+ stat debuffs. jesus fucking christ
AHHHHHHHHHHHH JACKIE CHAN SAVE ME
>Imagine not being able to escape rebirth
>Khazâd ai-mênu !
Rock bottom is the only way to go.
Are all the buildings except for walls and gates just prefabs, or can you customize your own buildings?
k, i'm seriously gonna look for some foods
How much is savescumming frown upon?
It's a singleplayer game, savescum all you want
though it'll be better if you don't
How large of an army do I need to genocide the entire map successfully?
savescumming isnt a great idea because the asskickings increase your toughness. but ill load a previous save if i get blindsided at 3x speed because i was working with another character or using a menu. just get a companion to pick you up and run off if shit really hits the fan, and then you wont really need to savescum and will be worse off if you do
Even if it was supper frowned upon it dont matter my dude, just like the mods are more fun/mods are cheating debate, it's all personal choice. If you start getting bored, it's better to just reload or download a mod than give up on a game you paid for. Make it how you want. I think the game loses intensity if you savescum, but grinding at the start sucks monster balls. So do both, use multiple character saves if you dont want perma death but to try new starts.
BUT WHATEVER YOU DO, DONT
>Elite samurai with Katana can easily be countered with cut resisting heavy armor and armor pening weapons
>End game skeleton can be countered with paladin cross
>Meanwhile Elite Shek and Inquisitor, who wields heavy weapon, has basically no counter because they deal both cut and blunt damage in AoE meaning your melee defense and armor won‘t do shit against them
What do?
send dogs after them as cannon fodder and crossbow them to death?
you just need 7 good men
It actually actively fights against your fun.
My general rule is:
>Someone dies because they started beading and I never noticed
Yeah, I'm reloading for that
>Anything else short of a complete bs bug
Roll with it as best you can

HOO
Can't he just sell the game to publishers like what Kerbal Space Program did
How to auto take items from a machine? Like if mining it stops at five stack, and requires me to manually off load the machine with my cursor. How to not need thatm
Build a container for, in this case, the ore. Whoever fills the machine will grab all the ore and carry it there
Can't unless you have a storage for specific output of that machine
If you set a dude to automine copper, he wont offload it automatically unless you have a copper storage nearby
Make a storage box for the specific item and assign a dude to 'haul' the items to that box.
E.g assign a character to a storage box for iron plates and he'll be hauling iron plates wherever it's available to that box
Everything in the game is countered by crossbows.
crossbows feel so lame, I don't use them.
>pick up new recruit
>my team is slow as balls again
i bet it was beep
>knock out a sentinel
>kidnap him, put him in a cage
>his friend makes him a slave
the fuck
put all your first aid on one character. let your squad get rolled, while your medic hides. bandits leave run up with medic and heal/ carry teammates away. leave food with the medic or the bandits will steal it. eventually you wont be a weakling.
>pick up new recruit
>doesn't actually pick them up
I'm on to you.
is this game fun if you aren't very creative? i'd rather have a goal given to me and allow me to figure out weird ways of achieving that goal, rather than setting my own goal
Yeah I wish the game had something like autopause when combat starts, would make travelling less of a pain
I'm trying not to gush, but this is the first game that made me actually start liking RPG's again.
Then you'll be bored in minutes.
You need to set up your own goal. I will say that goals are pretty easy. Just vow vengeance against the first real big group that are jerks to you. That will take anywhere from 0 - 20 minutes to happen.
Or just set out to conquer the world.
Here I have a goal for you: HOLY NATION GENOCIDE
well it's 80% downloaded so i guess i'll see
you'll hate it
That's when you recruit another character and have them turn in your wanted one to collect said bounty.
How fucking hard are achievements to program in?
>Recruit 250 people into your Faction

>Earn 5,500,500 Cats from trading
>Kill 2000 Fogmen
>Wipe the Holy Nation from the face of the planet

ended up kidnapping the Emperor. Gonna use it to train a guard of sheks.
I like achievements for weird challenge runs.

>tell him to patch himself up
>"My arms are messed up"
imagining a dying man saying that and being unable to save himself hit pretty hard, man. there was a happy ending, though; he was enslaved
>set up camp near a ninja guild trader
>ninja guild is friendly towards me
>dust bandits attack my camp
>run towards the ninjas
>bandits follow me
>ninjas kick their ass for me
>being so brainlet you cant come up with personal goals
One of the houses
How should I go about training my combat skills? I've just started and managed to get mine up to around 10 (attack/defense and katana) just from joining in against idiot bandits I lead into the guards, but even at this point it feels like I can easy get my ass knocked out against a random hungry bandit on my own.
i'd guess no, but i'm a newb
How do y'all make money early game? Right now I'm just mining copper all the time and selling it to the trader for around 200 per piece, but there must be an easier way right?
Unironically, get your ass beat
I wish we could play as fog people, RPGs never let you play as the mysterious races it's always some boring muh warrior people or human shit
Looting a dead trader is also an easy way
Have the same problem, currently saving up for a training dummy Mk.III
aren't fog people just Hivers who had their queen killed?
rollroll
so I started in a town that is just ruins except for the bar, will npcs eventually populate and repair this place or what?
stealing is easy, also become a member of Thieves Guild
I'm running an all hiver party, setting a base up in the fog. Working up to destroying every faction that bullies me.
Recruitable prisoners gives you the chance to recruit them. They're among the hardest to recruit though because canonically it should be impossible.
>spend an hour downloading 22 mods
>4 of them work
what the fuck is this niggery?
it's fucking Skyrim all over again
By who? Hungry ass bandits come in packs and might just kill me from having so many on me at once.
stealth. train stealth, steal shit, sell it to another town
repeat until you can steal 100k worth of inventory in one go
go to any tech hunter city (best is World's End if you're in the area) and rob it blind, sell it all to a nearby town of a different faction.
The shortest back and forth is Black Scratch and Brink but there's reavers and grass bandits everywhere so you'll need to be careful.
I stole his clothes, and just skedaddled through the guards who thought I was one of them.
This is amazing.
nah, it's up to you to make money and buy+repair the houses if you really want to, otherwise I'd just start a base elsewhere
Get a friend who will patch you up when you get your ass-kicked. Now just go a get your ass-kicked many times over and over again.
Wear gear that boosts your combat stats, don't use any heavy gear yet. Use Polearms, they boost your attack stat.
When i remove ore from storage containers my guy placed it back in
I want to sell it
I just thought it'd be nice to get a place in an already populated place since I don't plan to squad up just yet.
Level stealth, level assassination. Knock everyone out, sell their shit. Turn in bounties from people you knock out. Sell people you knock out to slavers. Sell people that other people knocked out to slavers. Sell everyone to slavers.
lol
Don't forget to check what order they're loaded in, starting a new game, and see if they conflict with each other
Are you doing a solo playthrough? If you have 2 people, you can have one get their ass beat and have the other a safe distance away (far away) to play rescue medic
can I become a bandit in this game?
I got the recruit prisoners mod, and the dialog it took to get one of these foggennoggers to join me was both nerv racking and funny. Third best recruitment dialog, topped only by that old guy and CAREFUL ACTUAL SPOILER Mad Cat-Lon.
Not sure if the last one works without the mod.
I've never had a problem with mods.
The Great Leader Heist has been reported successful, lads.
>train my one arm dude to have 70 str/lots of toughness
>go near the outskirts of Blister Hill to prepare
>have my robo nigs out side and ready gtfo after the drop off
>distract the entire throne room until everyone has been knocked out
>pop my robot arm on to carry Holy Lorn Phoenix and sneak/run away from the stronghold
mission accomplished. This game is fucking great.
Turn off jobs for a minute
With jobs enabled, characters will automatically store any relevant items in containers
Its almost necessary
Holy shit, you can recruit him?
God I love this game
that's it I'm starting a new game right fucking now and try to make them enslave each other until there's none left
of course, it's the best way to play
Get some buds (or take Nobodies start) and just jump people, scavenge bodies from other people's fights, and loot stores at night.
this game is the best dickass thief simulator I've come across and I love it.
This game is fucking great.
>While in your cage at night, turn stealth on, even while standing still you gain XP in it
I've had this happen sometimes, but it doesn't seem to work consistently. Is there a trick to it?
What you Niggas know about being a goat herder in the borderzoneistan mountains?
I'm gonna start up a terrorist training camp if the HN and Shek keep pushing it... You're about to witness a a sole man going from goat herder to literal Abu-Bakr al BigDaddy after I get my covert funding and weapons from the United Cities.
no the mod in question just lets you recruit anyone (that the dev programmed at least) by throwing them in a cage and talking to them
Steal shit and loot bodies outside of towns
Just found the problem, the folder names must be exactly the same as the .mod files.
I was using some other site to get steam workshop-only stuff for my pirate version so now I have to rename everything.
Iv seen people kill the most tough mobs with martial arts but it sucks to level
Enemies need to be nearby
we still going boys!
Yep! Atleast with the mod, you need to imprison him. The stuff he "says" when imprisoned and talked to (and afterwards) is also really interesting, in particular if you are interested in related ethic questions.
Wait, is there supposed to be something that happens if you destroy a faction? How do you even destroy one, just kill everyone in the cities?
Not sure if you wanna target trade caravans though. Firstly 'cause they're guarded as hell, and I've only have one instance where a caravan got mauled over by a pack of axe giraffes and so I looted the leader and scored ration packs. Subsequent lootings on dead trader leads didn't have anything on them anymore. Might be just luck.
Do I need another prisoner recruitment mod?
what do i do if i'm at war with the holy nation? lol.
try looting a dead trader while the fight is still going on
Falling sun >>> desert saber >>> paladin's cross >>> dogshit >>>>>>>> literally every other weapon type in the game
>Has mod that makes animal trader sell surrounding fauna
>Spots a Crimper along with 3 robospiders
>Holy Shit.jpg
>Says "Following Leader"
>Leader is nowhere to be found
Afaik you only need steamcommunity.com
The problem with heavy weapons, though they are quite good, is that their move set is so slow that it means that if you are fighting more than one enemy you will sometimes find your character just attempting to block because they cant find a window of attack.
I personally like the Topper weapon because it has the reach of heavy weapons but the speed of katanas. Wish Polearms were a bit better.
m8 I solo'd that hyper robo guy with a polearm, far more effective than anything else 1v1
>stiff breeze blows by
>All hivers within eye sight lose their limbs
Youll run into this sort of thing constantly, the world is happening weither you are around to see it or not, the leader is probably knocked out in a bush somewhere nearby, Ive also found them enslaved and their caravan has just camped outside of the town while they were in a cage.
I heard using katanas was best because they hit often and train dex, which is hard otherwise.
I'm not doing solo, my issue is just that those hungry bandits are probably going to smash off my limbs or something.
The falling sun is much faster than other heavy weapons, it's ridiculously op
Bows > high level martial arts > memesun
Massacre their entire nation? Why is this a question?
Its all entirely dependent on the characters proficiency, the only one that I would say is something to avoid is blunt weapons, unless you want to play slaver.
This is why I feel like stacking all combat speed buffs in mandatory for heavy weapons. A little bit of kiting goes a long way as well.
Polearms give you bonuses to attack with lots of cutting damage which is very useful early game.
What are some fun things to do in the endgame, after you've built a superbase?
This.
Proof of this too is that constant "[insert minor faction/squad here #435] has been wiped out" notification.
At first I was like nani, but then I stopped caring at about the 20th notif
Well shit
Can I do this to all notorious characters?
I just bought a bonedog pup. Should i eat it?
there's steamcommunity.com
Plunging the world to absolute chaos
how good is the female character creator
That 2 tap attack for Katana weapons is the best attack in the game because its the fastest attack. With high level katana your character will tend to use nothing but this.
Im not saying heavy is bad, my main character uses it, but watching the characters at the same sortof level fighting enemies the topper just clears through them so fast, the topper and Falling Sun have the same reach, but the topper is fast as fuck, so its clipping multiple enemies.
is Nodachi the best katana in the game?
I have a bonedog who is an Elder now. I'd say it isn't really worth it to keep one this long especially if they have flat run mph.
They die a lot. Probably is an upside as you can train your medics on them.
>Can I do this to all notorious characters?
iirc the arch enemy of the sheks didn't work out, but that was some time ago. I would expect that most work, sometimes you need to solve some kind of puzzle when talking to them.
If you keep it alive till its Elder age it basically becomes a killing machine that you can throw at anything. Till then it is pretty useless.
It's ok, but you'll have to get some mods if you want them to look like models or animu waifus.
It depends on what sort of enemies you're fighting, katanas are pretty garbo against heavily armored enemies and robots.
This is how I started my game.
Use them to guard your base.
is that a shader or some shit?
How long does that take
all I care about is the height slider
Awesome, probably wont use it but will definitely keep it handy. Thanks mate
Topper doesnt have the same debuffs as regular katanas, instead of -20 amour penetrations its -15 and doesnt suffer the reduced damage to robots debuff like other katanas.
Kenshi is a bit like Rimworld and DF in that it acts a bit like a story simulator, so you kind of ruin the natural progression of your stories, the drama, and the consequences if you don't let situations play out. Remember: Losing is fun.
Fucking ages, like a week maybe. Doesnt sound like long but it is when its not doing anything
patrician taste
I get the thought but only big fat losers who lose all the time think that.
Basically COPE.
rolllllllllerino
Ok well accepting the possibility of losing makes wins, near wins, and other close calls more exhilarating and exciting. If you savescum there is no possibility of losing.
This game needs a palette change, I think the reason why so many people think it's ugly is it has too much pink and gray
Is the recruit mod decently balanced? It seems like it would make getting recruits too easy. Itd be cool if sometimes when you tried to recruit people they would agree just to turn around and try to escape or kill you.
you can heard animals?
how? just buy them and sell them somewhere else for a better price?
>buy pups
>bring them around until they're elder
>sell the old ones for more money
Pretty simple shit desu
>getting recruits too easy
I don't think so. At the beginning it's really no difference as more or less everyone will kick your butt. Later in the game you have enough cash to get recruits anyway and it turns more into a hassle that way. Also you won't be able to recruit high level enemies unless you are high enough leveled yourself.
any tips for someone just starting out?
I'm just some lanky fag in the Hub selling iron.
I want to eventually take over the world with a legion of highly trained autists.
Also, how to I run? My lanklet faggot only walks everywhere.
How is the player slavery mod? Seems like a no-brainer to let the player also build a slave empire.
Getting recruits too easily isn't really the issue. The thing that makes the mod unbalanced as fuck is that it lets you recruit guys like Eyegore, Bugmaster and Cat-Lon and basically get a living god on your squad for free. Combine this with how OP assassination/kidnapping is and you can get retardedly overpowered really early on if you know what you're doing.
Of course, you can just choose not to do that.
This post was made
By exslave gang
the movement icons are in the bottom right corner
the one that's one black and one red figure makes anyone with that option walk at the speed of the slowest person in the group
Start hiring boyz from the bar and go get beat up by starving bandits with them. After you can kick their asses start getting licked by dust bandits. Once you can kick their asses, move on the next type of enemy you can ass-kick and so forth. If you want to explore, try finding caravans hanging out in bars; they will eventually hit the road and you can tag along with them for safety between cities.
So does wiping out the Holy Empire stop those missionary assholes from knocking on your door on PRAYER DAY?
It sounds like a plot for shounen
>settling in the HE when you can settle in the BASED fog islands
>I don't plan to squad up just yet.
youll quickly find that thats a bad idea
Bump, noob Like to knoe it to fkdu im jdo fuckrd
Not him, but speaking of movement is there any reason to move slower than your fastest speed?
>have group
>some are slower than others
>lower everyones speed to the same speed so they all move together
Things like that
Is martial arts affected by melee attack and racial combat speed at all?
were there any packbeasts around that got mauled? i got thousands of dollars of items from one, i think all traders inventories are in their packbeasts bags
>watching cannicucks get mogged by fogmen on the way to my base
>listening to their screams as they are eaten alive while I do endless runs to mongrel for more fucking iron plates
game is a boring shit grind with 0 story or actual content. There's nothing to do besides farm for skill ups and then just kill stuff for no reason
whats the profit margin? have you calculated your food expenditures into that?
Go take your adhd meds zoomer
This. I don't really know who this game is aimed at. Someone that wants to play an offline MMORPG with no actual content
god, I wish adderal was legal.
says you.
I'm a retard trying to figure out how to make an autonomous settlement. What series of job commands will allow my townsfolk to farm cacti and wheat, bake them, and store them without me needing to supervise them?
>he doesnt know
whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?
Oh cool they're taking to a party. I can even hear the screams of joy from here.
How's the modding scene here?
You need the correct containers, but then after that, it's just a matter of shift-clicking to assign and changing the order around. Should look something like this:
>Work wheat field
>Haul to wheat storage
>operate oven (set queue to repeating craft bread)
>haul to bread box/container
This string should make someone carry water to the fields, farm the fields, carry wheat to storage, bake bread, put bread in bread box/barrel.
Robust. Lots of good gameplay mods that don't just change things but actually add to mechanics.
Not quite as far along in some areas as I would like, but it definitely enhances the experience.
how does it feel to be so stripped of ambition and sense of self that you are unable to entertain the idea of mastering a new world in your own image?
immediate gratification isn't the road to happiness, perhaps set a goal for once in your life.
afaik, i dont think you even need to make a job out of "haul to". once the farming is done, they should autohaul to the storage. and when they do the bake job, they should grab the necessary materials from storage automatically, assuming its relatively close by, and then store the baked good automatically after baking it
so i think the job list would just have to be
>farm
>bake
Hmm, maybe, I thought the hauling part was necessary, but maybe not. I'm not playing on a game with a base right now, otherwise I would check.
What the fuck I do with this thing?
Can I sell people after beating them senseless?
>Landscape texture are 2048x2048 some items goes up to 4096x4096
>Game still look like ass
You can sell them to slave shops, you can let them heal up and then beat them up again for stats, you can carry them around for weight training.
It can look pretty decent under the right circumstances
i found some dude running about
he's apparently an escaped slave
how do i attack him?
No porn mods, it's shit
Right click to open up the interaction menu.
there are tho
>Slavery start is supposed to be one of the toughest
>It's easy to abuse stealth and lockpicking gains
>Stealth is as broken as Bethesda games' stealth
youtu.be
What food can i grow inside a house within a city
You can't grow food inside a building until you get hydroponics which is an endgame tech.
>the difficult start isn't hard at all when I know how to abuse the broken aspects of the game
woooooooooooooooooow
jesus christ, going through Holy Order lands with my Shek buddy and through the Deadlands was a nightmare.
Thanks, fellas, I appreciate the input.
Brad, is that you?!
rip
I started the game ready to be a holy nigger genocider but since i started on the hub i went to Squin and i'm pretty much the only human among sheks and a few hivers, just became a blacksmith while i have a bunch o' sheks hunting and the hivers hitting those nodes for mad catz. I guess diversity was my strength all along
merely a flesh wound
Training beep currently to be a god katana user,
he keeps getting death booped by security spdiers
You gotta rip his limbs off and replace them with robo limbs to beef him up
katanas are no good against robots, they do litterally like -50% damage, it is worth having a side arm you are at least proficient with for this reason
Thought about picking up this game, can I run a robot ronin that doesn’t take shit from anybody or a Kenshiro wannabe? The inquisitor lads are the only things I’m worried about
Of course
If you go in knowing that you are not some superhero from the outset then you may enjoy it. It takes ages to get to a point where you can hold your own let alone knock peoples less off by fly kicking them
>Travel around the map and keep a record of nice base building locations across the world that I want to settle
>Get this really cool idea in my head of building like 10 different bases at my favorite spots that could serve as neat stops when traveling around
>Have this RP idea in my head about my character founding their own faction based around being explorers/colonizers/researcher-scientists, kinda like Machinists and Tech Hunters except not incompetent, and that's why we have so many bases in weird out of the way places
>Realize that this would be immensely stupid in game because it would be massively inefficient, I'd need mods to be able to recruit enough people to staff these locations, and the raids would basically be constant because one would always be under attack
How did you pick two of your own arms
haha fucking shit a paladin just got his shit pushed in and I got to take his cross and armor lmao
aaaaand a monk killed me while in 3x speed because I couldn't fight back while carrying my unconscious doggo and im going to bleed out
fuck
This is how im playing.
Not entire settlements, but i own almost a dozen houses and have two or three people at each mining and crafting.
you faggots have me ill try it out
Buying houses isn't really a problem, having a safehouse in each city/settlement basically causes no issues since nobody is raiding YOU, any shit happening will be taken care of by the faction. It's when you start building your own outposts that you get problems.
I know. Thanks.
I'm going to try again now with the nobodies start.
All hivers. We've got Prince(a prince), Timmy and Jimmy(workers), and Cole and Zeke(fighters).
NU-HIVE NOW, NIQQA
aaaAAAAND now we've been butchered by skeletons who were hanging out in the hills near the destroyed house I spawned at
damn this game is brutal
Holy Nation will attack robuts on sight, but they only occupy a smallish portion of the map. The rest of the world doesn't care what race you are, robots especially are ignored by cannibals and skin bandits.
Cannibals will still beat robots to death
Nobodies can put you in some rough places, if you want a safer start with way less loot you can redo it until it spawns you in the hub.
where can i sell hashish?
I live in Tampa Fl, ill buy
UC
You can only sell it to Shinobi Thieves merchants, easiest place is probably the hub since there's no guards to pat you down.
FOOD... FOOD, THEY HAVE FOOD!
fuck this looks fantastic
sold
where can I get scorchlanders to recruit>
keep looking around bars for randoms
its actually shit
a guy from the united cities stalked my bugman and chopped his leg off. bugman was later enslaved and beaten to death by the guards after several failed escape attempts due to his shit-tier robotic leg not letting him run fast enough
but otherwise youre mostly correct
maybe, but i tend to like games like this where you set your own goals. reminds me of dorf fort.
There are better ways of making money in the game desu, but money is pretty useless anyway
How can you control your characters? Can you do things like set them on caravan paths and the like?
I never know if I should buy this or not
At one side, people tell its the ultimate sandbox rpg experience
At the other side, it looks like something out of 2002
Do replacement legs suck?
thanks, senpai
now the retards can work in peace!
UC Nobles will randomly beat on you no matter what race you are, unless you're allied with their faction.
only economy arm/leg sucks, every other variant is pretty much better than normal limbs except for most arms which have a dex penalty
This turned out to be one of the funnest parties I have had the pleasure to have been apart of.
It only looks like its straight out of 2002 if you choose to make it look like that
Although it isnt the 'ultimate' sandbox experience
i know that feel
RTS and you can set them directives to act upon automatically
>1) put ore in store (if unable go to 2)
>2) mine ore (if unable go to 3...)
Game looks fucking garbage is this what pcfags play besides the same games as consoles lmao
That's cool, can you set up caravans to go and automatically sell stuff you may be producing in your base?
Did you play the whole game with one character? How is that, because I'm doing a party right now and it kinda sucks.
You need containers for your inputs and outputs. This is true for all jobs.
For a farm for example, you will want a water storage tank for water (input) and a container for farm products (output). Setting a worker's job to farm a plot will make him automatically water the plot and harvest crops. However, if you don't have a job set up for him to auto haul crops to the appropriate container, he will only haul crops once the output storage in the farm is full, which can be inefficient. Additionally, you can have him automatically haul to water storage tanks from wells to help keep from quickly emptying your wells.
I have my farmers set to the following jobs: work the plots, haul to storage containers, haul to water storage, and haul to the generators, which has them run fuel to the generators automatically.
lol ok go back to your tiny penis
technically you dont need a water tank, your workers will just pull from the well
dont talk to tripfags.png
Na, you ahve to do that manually but you automate it to the point that they're putting all the finished goods in containers.
Got any stories
no, i mean he chased him and yelled "hey bug guy" "freak" etc. i dont remember if he was a member of the UC or just a random bar guy in a UC city
