retard fucking jannys

PC is dead. Get with the times old timer

gamers are dead, retard. this board is strictly shitposting about pol, censorship, and ecelebs now.

My plan to play through after I complete my new PC (last one had x860k & GT750Ti):
> Squad
> They Are Billions
> Total War: Warhammer 1&2
> Midair (dead)
> Reflex Arena (dead)
That's about it. Can't find any other good PC exclusives. I bought new PC to work on 3D Unity.

Forgot about these:
> Frostpunk
> Battletech
> Ape Out

pcpartpicker.com/list/2rXcnH Good to wait for Navi? Just want to play TF2

my oculus broke i'm kinda gutted about that. I've spent the last two hours installing and reinstalling shit trying to fix it

>Playing on PC just for the exclusives
Why? There's a multitude of factors on why you would primarily play on PC

>buying a PC to play a single game

>PC exclusives
that is not why you buy a PC, you buy a PC for the definitive version of every multiplat plus exclusives.

Meant real pc gamers, 99% of that is from internet cafe 3rd world shitters that play free 2 play crap

Only good games on PC are console ports or emulated so might as well have only console games discussions.

I mean I’d play other things but the main thing would be that.

Wrong.

What’s a good cheap headset with a mic?

No such thing as a good headset with a mic.

Posting non-Sony threads is a banna ble offense.

decent pair of headphones and a mod-mic

Why do PC upgrades have to be so insanely expensive?
What I have
>Acer XG270HU 2K 144Hz
>8GB RAM
>AMD Radeon R9 390 GPU
>i7 4790k 4GHz CPU

What I think I want
>4K monitor
>More RAM
>High-end graphics card that I won't upgrade
>Anything else I need to make all that work

I've never upgraded my PC but I think I might just get a PS4 Pro. My plan for this year was to get Sekiro on a PS4 on release and then on PC once enough mods had come out and the game had gone on sale. For a little while, I thought about just spending money upgrading my PC but if I want a high-end graphics card, a 4K monitor, and more RAM, I'm looking at around $2400. Even if I sell my current graphics card, I'll still be paying about five times as much as I would for a PS4 Pro.

Attached: visible confusion.jpg (323x326, 16K)

And get about a hundred times more games.

Well, you don't just upgrade everything in one go. You go by necessity.

KZ ED 16 with mic

I appreciate the access to a wider library and the option to play more things but I've found that in practice I really only spend time on a handful of games.

thats not true, i play free 2 play crap from home

I feel like if I broke it up and upgraded over time the only real difference would be whether I'd buy the RAM first or second. I feel like unless I ignore the 4K meme and just go for framerate, the monitor and the graphics card would basically go hand in hand. And the total will still come out to roughly the same amount. I've had this setup for about 3.5 years now. Makes me wonder if I should've just gone batshit crazy with my first purchase back when I built it.

Good, PC gamers and nintendorks are obnoxious

and trannies

A pc running at 1440p/144fps will look much much much better than a PS4 @4k. Don't be a retard.

You will be very, very disappointed with a PS4.

1440p 144Hz is the sweet spot for PC gaming. 4K doesn't provide much more visual benefits and it uses too much resources. Here's what I would do, upgrade to 16GB of RAM (clock it to 2400mhz). Sell the 390 and buy a 2060 and you're set. 4790k is still top tier for gaming, only a few titles like asscreed it cant do 60fps ultra.

>Even if I sell my current graphics card, I'll still be paying about five times as much as I would for a PS4 Pro.
What sort of comparison is that? Of course you'll be paying more because you'll be getting much more than PS4 Pro will offer.
PS4 Pro won't give you true 4K. You'll get checkboard.
PS4 Pro won't give you 60 FPS in vast majority of games. You'll get 30 with drops.
Just like you need to buy a 4K monitor, you need to buy a 4K TV for PS4 Pro (or a 4K monitor for that matter).

If you were on a super tight budget, then I'd understand contemplating getting a PS4/PS4 Pro over PC, but seeing as you clearly want the ultimate, high-end experience, it just doesn't make any sense. Your current setup already rivals that of PS4 Pro and you want to sidegrade/downgrade instead of upgrading, what the fuck.

This mindset is half of the reason this board is shit, the other half being /pol/turds.

>just started new job at $3000 a month expendable income after taxes and rent and food

Soon we'll be only discussing 7 games here - the 5 Sony exclusives and 2 Nintendo exclusives, since apparently a game is only considered a game when it's exclusive to Sony or Nintendo. Otherwise it's shit/multiplat shit/trash or whatever. It's especially funny when Sony's exclusive gets ported to PC and suddenly it goes from being a prime example of great Sony exclusives to trash and scraps.

Apparently newfriends forgot about the witcher and crpg fallout and a dozen other games I could mention but fags would complain about "le indieshit!!1" like that's an actual argument.

I mean there's people here now who genuinely think the seventh gen was amazing, so that's where we're at

> the witcher and crpg fallout and a dozen other games
You'll just hear
>lmao I can run that on my grandma's notebook who needs a gaming PC for that

Start saving, buy a PC in 3 month instead.

enrive.org/pc is the masterrace headquarters for years now. Yea Forums is for nintendo

wait for better prices
congrats on your new job fren

Appreciate the replies, anons. I might stick to my monitor and just upgrade my graphics card and RAM. Some more questions
>What's the best 2060 to get?
>The other two anons who replied, is that really the best option?
>What's the best way to sell my 390?
Also, just out of curiosity, can someone analogize GPU's for me? Why are there different companies making the same card? What makes them different? Can you draw analogies to other industries to explain it better in different terms?

Just got a new PC, looking forward to division 2, GTFO, ready or not and bannerlord :)

>wait for better prices
Why? Is something happening soon? And better prices on everything or on specific parts?

Cloud gaming will literally kill consoles.

>bannerlord
Yup, releasing right along with hl3.

Literally go to /g/. You can get a lot answered there in the PC building general.

It's just intersectionalism infecting Yea Forums, just like it infected /vg/. /vg/ is dead and full of redditors and all the mods are unironically communists. We have seen a massive shift here and soon it will be the same. Yea Forums(((nel))) is dead

There is the base card and the companies usually makes the external components like the fan and so on. I cannot recommend a specific 2060 because I haven't done much research on it but I do know it's the best card for 1440p 60fps ultra settings right now. You only need 144+fps for fast paced competitive games like csgo, fortnite, etc. And the 2060 with a 4790k will give you that. Honestly you don't even need the RAM right away, Haswell scales with faster clocked RAM, even more so when it's 'bottlenecked' in modern games. I recommend 2400MHz 16GB DDR3 as a minimum to get these benefits, can be done via overclocking or buying xmp RAM sticks. if you have a 8gb stick just get another of the same one. You could even buy a regular PS4 just to play exclusives, just learn to spend your money wisely.

The base of the card is the same, but each company offers their own cooling solutions (fans, radiators), some overclock them out of the box giving you a better performance while guaranteeing stability. Depending on what you will use your card for, you might need a very good but costly cooling solution or only need a cheap solution. It allows you to not overpay for things you won't have use for.

steelseries sibera 2

Damn. Nice case

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK TOO LATE! I Already spent my first paycheck!

He might need more RAM if he only has one stick. Running in single-channel means his CPU performance tanks hard and will most likely bottleneck GPU as well.

Buy a $9000 PC. It's only 12 weeks saving.

anyone else getting excited about all the progress proton is making?

I hope youre good at budgeting.

Kenshi threads are good

>console ports
Why do console ports run and look better on my pc ?

Thanks again. /pcbg/ says that 2060 is bare minimum for 2K but I'll look into it more. I think I have 2 4Gb sticks but I've been meaning to upgrade RAM for awhile so I'll probably just get 2 or 3 8Gb sticks. Picrelated is what I have, not sure why my RAM isn't listed anymore, so I'll just write it here -
>Corsair - Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

>Haswell scales with faster clocked RAM, even more so when it's 'bottlenecked' in modern games.
Just out of curiosity, what does this part mean?

And yeah, I've got a regular PS4 so I'll likely just stick with that. I just started thinking about the Pro today when I was thinking about how expensive cards and monitors can be. Again, appreciate the help.

My PC is so old that I would see a significant boost in FUN by spending $1600~

However, by my calculations, spending $9000 would not result in a noticeable increase in fun. In fact, it would lead to a decrease due to the concern of whether or not it was worth it.

K monitor
good luck playing anything above 60fps
>ps4
good luck playing anything above 30fps

why would you do this to yourself?

RAM has taken a nosedive. Now's a good time to buy. It might go down more but summer is coming up so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Games aren't even fun. Researching the parts, buying them, and installing them are the fun parts. You won't be happy unless you have the best.

Don't get 3 sticks. You either use 2 or 4, but 2 is vastly preferable. Get 2x8 or 2x16 if you have the money and sell whatever you have now.

If that were the case I would have purchased 3 shitty PCs and built them up for the same price.

2060 is fine for 60fps ultra 1440p. I use a GTX 1080 and I run everything fine at 1440p which gives roughly the same performance as the 2060.

As for RAM, get 2 x 8 or 2 x 16 like the other user suggested.

As for the phrase I mentioned with Haswell scaling with faster RAM, how do I explain it... well Haswell with 2400MHz RAM has higher minimum FPS than with 1600MHz RAM, Haswell is beginning to show its age a bit but it's still very good. Fast RAM will squeeze every extra bit of performance out of it.

4k only looks good if it's a massive TV. Just go for a 1440 monitor unless you're wanting to play PC games on your couch.

I wanna upgrade my PC, but if I buy a new CPU, I'm gonna need a new motherboard and RAM (and I'd probably end up getting a new case too and there's no point in just buying a new GPU because my current specs will bottleneck and end up buying all the other stuff anyway.

I have a Thermaltake case
>play any game on max settings
>barely even gets hot
>boot up literally any MMO
>heats up, can barely hear the game over the fan whirring up

Thanks anons. 2 sticks of 8 or 16 it is.

>but if I buy a new CPU, I'm gonna need a new motherboard and RAM
Well, yeah, that's how it usually is. The point is to buy a very good combo of those three so you only have to exchange them after many years and just upgrade GPU in the meantime.

Yeah, this is a relief to read. My monitor's been good for me and I know the 4K upgrade would be very expensive. I don't need anything more than the 27" screen I have right now either.

Got it. I just didn't know what Haswell was. Looked it and I guess it's the architecture style of my CPU?

MMO's are a known issue for Thermaltake cases.

Yes it's the i7-4790K's architecture. Also I'm guessing Sekiro would probably be able to run 1440p 60fps on a 390 but probably not max settings. Then again I don't play DS3 on max settings because the depth of field makes it look blurry.

I just want to be able to run crazy mods and get silky smooth performance out of it. Do you know what the difference between a 2060 and a 2070/2080 is like? Worth the difference in cost?
Yeah, my 390 is great but I didn't always get smooth framerates, definitely not smooth enough to where I'd buy Sekiro on it without upgrading it first. Especially in online games I play with my friends, which are pretty much the only thing I've done on my PC this past year. Even fucking fortnite was piss-poor for me, although that may have had more to do with my internet speed. Kinda lame considering how much I spent on the PC.

I feel like your CPU while adequate will bottleneck the faster 2070 a bit more than the 2060. Do you want to keep playing games at high settings for many years to come? Then get the 2070. Don't even consider the 2080, it's just not worth it.

You guys lied to me, the pc building general on /g/ is worthless. This thread's been far more helpful.

FUCK YOU

It's like trying to talk about video games on Yea Forums. It's been discussed to hell and back and most people already have had their set ups for a while.

because pc threads dont show up on Yea Forums every day, you generally get more positive responses on Yea Forums
