City Builder Thread, ho good is Foundation?
bump
haven't tried it personally. from what I've heard in city-builder threads over the last couple days, it has some neat things going on, but is very lacking in content right now and will only amuse you for a few hours
also some complaints about the UI I think
seems promising but I'm going to hold off, personally
That sucks but it is early access. Anyone playing anything?
waiting for ymir to hit early access in 5 days. looks pretty good but has weird multiplayer stuff
Game looks very promising but I am worried about it being a 1 man team.
it's been in development for a while already from the sounds of it unlike most early access games so it might be fine
Post good games.
From what I've gathered it has a possible caveat of having no AI to compete with, only 100 man multiplayer for the 4x layer part of it
Been looking forward to otherwise, it looks like the dev built this from love for the original Impressions City Builder series - and we really need more of that tradition being brought back
>that feel when I never played any old city builder
Really craving some city/farm/base building. Any recommendations? I hear Rune Factory are good games so I might try them. Where would be a good point to start?
This game is solid. But there is very little replay value in it.
its in EA right now but from what I have played it has a lot of potential. to me it feels like an upgraded version of banished or at least it will be once the game is further along development
Frontier have the comfiest farm house
Anno 1800 comng out in a month
I'm still just waiting for Ancient Cities.
this. everything about it looks great, the attention to historical detail, the amount of freedom you'll (supposedly) have in guiding your peoples' culture and politics
but I have serious concerns the game may never actually exist
What are some good games that are out now?
i don't know anything about city builders but tried foundation once and never again. don't remember why.
Alright I hope I stir up some dirt for bumping the thread, but I enjoyed banished, there are billions, anno 2140, age of empires, city skylines, simcity snes, Sim farm. I understand some games I listed are rts' and simulations or rogue ish but I get a similar vibe from these.
Excellent contribution to the thread my friend
Thank you. I just downloaded it somewhere then tried it. It probably wasn't very good that's why I deleted it and don't remember.
So not solid at all, then. Ancient Cities ought to be better.
>Ancient Cities ought to be better.
hopefully. dawn of man is legitimately pretty good though, it's just that every town tends to develop on the same pattern
Friend who tried it said it's very basic in some respects, even more so than Banished so I didn't bother with it yet.
