playing terraria on a farm in the middle of bum-fuck nowhere were some of the happiest memories of my life and this song takes me right back to that summer
That's a long enough time. People are allowed to have very fond memories, great experiences and miss those times with videogames past their childhood years user
my nigga. Back from a time when music mattered.
I always regret entering these threads, i get a sudden sense of joy only to realise i'll never be young again to experience this stuff.
I want a time machine, damn it.
The entirety of OST

Phantom Hourglass was a fucking gem and fuck everybody who disagrees. Even if it wasn't nearly as good as spirit tracks I have so many fond memories
That credits scene is still probably my favorite in all of gaming.
Star Fox Zero completely fucked it up.
If u rememberd this, ur childhood was awsom

jesus fucking christ. i just replayed this again a few months ago. i could hear the music just from your comment. i died there so many fucking times
Easier times... I'll miss those GameCube/GameBoy Advance years

This game was fucking awesome

Budokai was such a good fucking series, man. 2 is actually closer to my heart because it was at a time when me and my brothers all sucked at videogames, so we would sit and play together and pass the controllers when we lost and get really into it when the fights were hard. God damn, my older brother managing to beat Kid Buu for the first time was like a fucking hero.

Really cant wait for the remaster on Switch.

As generic as it sounds, the moment this music kicks in really defines my childhood.

Oh jesus fucking christ user don't bring me back that far. That fucking game was one of the few that I had and to this day I never figured out exactly how to beat it. Me ad my brothers beat all the stories and got all seven chaos emeralds but metal sonic never showed up, but what a ride

Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters was my favourite game when I was 6, I had it on my ps1 and I loved playing it everyday, hearing the soundtrack always brings me back to that time and when i was 11, at that age i pirated it on my mom's old pc and i played it together with my siblings. good times
Megaman Zero as a whole was a FUCKING MASTERPIECE
Jesus, Heroes was truly awful
But the memories are still there... Thank you user

I couldn't say how many hours I spent dicking around with Red Alert 2 as a kid, but it's been so many years since I lasted touched it, I'm long overdue for a replay.
I was never good, I never learned the hotkeys, learned the best strategies or dreamt of playing competitively, but that was fine, you could still easily have fun in C&C even if you were terrible.
I tried Age of Empires 2 again a while ago, man you just get shitstomped even by easy AI's if your APM is subpar.
The OST is still as perfect and memorable as I remembered, good old Klepacki.
Never forget youtu.be
My local scene died a few months back when Ultimate came. Its a good game, but I still have a place in my heart for PM.
Brings me back
i feel you, i only beat it when i was a slightly older kid. 6 year old me was too brainlet to get past the hang mansion.

I didn't finished Xenogears (not a fan of the core J-RPG tropes...), but the soundtrack was something else. I remember crying a bit when Citan unveiled you that music box and this played:

It's a shame that such as beautiful music as the one from games like Xenogears or Chrono Cross is tied to games with core gameplay mechanics that i just can't stand
MY FUCKING NIGGA
>tfw modded my SNES Classic to get this game on it
honestly the gameplay might not be the best, but that overarching story is definitely worth sticking to it. But yes yasunori mitsuda is a legend.
Man, Flyff was objectively such fucking trash, I don't know why I enjoyed playing it.
It had soul
God, I can spot a soundtrack from 2000s. with 95% accuracy.
Same but with Oracle of Age
Dunno found it comfy.
oh shit

The whole game soundtrack is just pure nostalgia, even when I first played the game.
i have a couple:
>road rash 2 arizona
>any soundtrack from paper mario 64

there are more, but those are top 3

I know Oblivion is a shit game but nothing out there really does it for me as hard as TES does. There are a billion open world games but none really "get" it like Bethesda's TES team, and even Fallout doesn't even come close. Every few years I give one of them another run and just burn days away walking around, reading all the books, fucking around with sidequests, becoming an omnipotent omegagod, and so on.
Yes, going from yellow to gold was amazing for me.
O kurwa....
Holy shit I forgot I even played this game and now I'm remembering how stupidly hype it was.
youtube.com
anybody remember this game? I loved it so much
>AEIOU

Why was AoE's OST and general style so fucking aesthetic? Nothing else really emulates that.
Gotta post one for my fellow /EXEbros/ we are a long dead species; but boy the music these games have brings me right back

AHHHH YOU'RE BRINGING BACK MEMORIES I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW I HAD
Fuck man this was my first shooter on the PC, we didn't even play online my brother and I would just watch each other do the campaign or free roam on the maps for hours
Morrowind, Oblivion and Oblivion 2 all have great OSTs, hope that doesnt change for Oblivion 3
so mad that we couldn't even walk around Destiny Islands in 3. We go there but it's just another cutscene world

i think the over-exposure of gregorian chanting in videogames has killed all of the nostalgia one could get out of Halo.
love that track in Half Life though
You gotta remember (or maybe not, cause you could be young) that outside of maybe obscure metal, Gregorian chanting was unknown in main stream vidya, so the Halo thing was very new and fresh sounding, and it had some genuinely good music all around
It still fucking hurts remembering being with my bros on the final countdown before they shut down the servers. Fucking hell mate, i would love for them to bring it back. PSO2 sucks ass

he saved the entire world and what's he got to show for it? A lonely road but a saved and peaceful world
I've played a ton of videogames in my 27 years on earth but this score always hits me the hardest. I don't know what it is but it instantly makes me nostalgic.
oh boy, Peaceful Moments is hitting me hard right now.

I want to have this feeling again, but I do not know where to find it.
I dunno guys I feel like we're so steeped in nostalgia these days that pretty much every game from my childhood I've seen something about it on the internet over the last year or two. I see shit about Age of Empires and Half Life and my last memory of seeing it is only a few months ago.
I SET MY SAIL
Can't wait for the remake that's coming out soon.
It's an abstract kind of feel, isn't it?
Just had a feeling like it was you and your girl against the world.
This entire OST is so fucking good. Anyone who played this shit when it first came out will never forget it.
