Repostan tech: Pressing the Devil Bringer after any action does a quick jab of 20 damage. A normal swing is 60.

And when I mean any action, I mean ANY action. Taunts, shoot, rolls, swings, breaker attacks, dropkicks even devil trigger activation.
Only actions you can't punch on are jump, rev and buster.

Since they do fixed damage, they are best used for ORA ORA barrages like Helter Skelter, Tomgirl and Gebera's Stamen Ray.

Unfortuntely the timing for Devil Kunkle and Max Act is completely different. It will take some of Freak of nature to master pressing TWO buttons in perfect timing after each swing.

Just did it myself, despite equipping Punchline as suggested in the previous thread I still couldn't one-break kill him. Just managed to survive his second shield instead.

Move lock-on to RT, Break Away to RB and Devil Breaker to X and its my setup, though yours is probably better for charging Devil Breakers. I just fucking hate using the bumpers, I'd kill myself if I had to use them for lock-ons.

Really? I used it because it made sense it's free constant damage. I played it real safe just using charge shot level 3 and punchline until the shield was down, DT bustered Urizen, did a few combos, and finished it off with a normal buster. The second that shield was done so was he.

DMC5 had some pretty good tracks, but I overall preferred DMC1 and 3's soundtracks. Even 2 had a pretty banging soundtrack (probably its only redeeming quality)

Might be best to figure out non-mashing by learning Shadow first. Aside from his dive attack, Griffon has a lot of charge moves so set one up as if you're charging nero's blue rose and focus on what the fatto catto is doing. Obviously avoid using double jump/back dodge as that will force Griffon out of the charge animation but Shadow aided side dodge is already plenty good. Also important to learn which of your moves(like the dodges) reposition your pets and how they move around in general. Keeping locked on all the time isn't necessary and for the most part just aiming your camera at the target you want gets your pet to focus them. You yourself should focus on reading the good book for summoning Nightmare or finishing enemies off

V is just an extremely gimmicky and limited playstyle compared to Dante & Nero. I get that was the point, but really, there is SO MUCH they could've done with his playstyle.
Look at his Cane section in the shop for instance; they literally only gave him Royal Fork. He has the ability to summon spectral canes, yet they only gave him one(1) special move that utilizes it.
Not to mention Shadow only having two genuine combos & Nightmare having to scratch his balls and sip tea before doing anything after summoned, even when you control him.
Idk, I get what they were trying to do with V, But they really could've fleshed out his playstyle to be alot more expansive, especially considering he has the least amount of missions.

I agree, I liked the 4 boss designs. I think overall though 5 has the most consistent set in being fun to fight. There's only one boss I really dislike in 4, and a whole handful I dislike in 3. I had fun with pretty much every boss in 5.

I like V, but playing him makes my hands hurt. pressing Y and X, in different combinations while holding holding RT at the same time it a lot for me. he is fun though.

If you time it correctly you can counter-charge him with Cavaliere and completely wreck his shit, same with the rolling blade lizards. I used the unique back-forward Cavaliere R move, but I think the forward swordmaster move should work as well. I'm away from my computer so I can't test it right now.

Did anyone find any secret red orb locations? There's one in mission 3 on the middle chandelier, but that's all I found.

The most fun I've had so far is juggling enemies between Shadow and Nightmare while V plays an invisible violin. They definitely could have expanded his moveset in future games (or not RIP) and I understand glass cannon summoner types aren't for everyone, but I don't understand why people hold "I mashed buttons and got a good score" against him when you can do the same exact thing with Swordmaster + Dante or Cavaliere.

Replay it over and over again user. You'll learn his patterns eventually so just stay motivated

This game has the best playing Dante of all DMC games and it really makes me wish some of the older devil arms would return.

Nero's devil breakers actually are really fun and less braindead than his DMC4 devil bringer that automatized a lot of stuff for you.

Vanilla V is awful to play as but once you get some Shadow and Griffin abilities going he's quite fun. Nightmare is best left on AI control though.

All you gotta do is dodge until he slows to sheath his sword, then go in for a combo. The moment he parries that first attack, back up so he can run out his helm splitter and go in. Same with his DT, dodge like a mother fucker and go in whenever he sheaths. You can do it user, don't give up.
