Capcom are definitely waiting on the sales figures. RE sells no matter what but DMC is a niche series and with how much they lost on DmC it most likely made them very nervous about the future of the series, expect to hear a host of DLC plans in the next few weeks.

I'm actually kinda disappointed King Cerberus didn't manage to kill me even once. 3's Cerberus was a pretty infamous example of casual filter after all.

V pretty much spilled the beans to him as to who Urizen was, but probably kept Dante in the dark about who he himself was. Either thatm or Dante knew because the book was one of Vergil's favorite things in their childhood.

Likely, Dante went along with calling him Urizen to keep everyone else in the dark, or at least Nero.

2 doesn't count and 3 has way better enemies

I think that can be partly chalked up to the massive difficult spike. 3 at least was consistently difficult throughout and the build up to mission 20 was gradual, whereas 4 was consistently easy in comparison. 5 on the other hand is also consistently easy with mission 19 suddenly being rape mode, then it switches back to easy for mission 20. Or at least that was my experience of first playthroughs in each game.

I think 5 also has bit on issue in campaign pacing with introducing too many weapons and gameplay gimmicks in one go (like giving Cerberus just before Urizen fight) and having whopping three characters, so you don't really have time to master any of them if you're playing the campaign in one go without replaying old missions first.

It feels like they would have had (or do have and they're just not yet) playable characters fully prepared for Trish and Lady, but they held off because they "wanted to make V work" as a player character instead.

That, and the progression of the plot has the two of them understandably benched right at the beginning of the game. Both they and Dante get knocked the fuck out, and both girls are being sapped of their strength by the demons for an entire month (meanwhile Dante was just snoozing under the protection of Sparda's presence). Trish hands off Sparda and Lady loses Kalina Ann. Without their main weapons, that's a massive loss of power for characters who are already a couple tiers below Nero and Dante.

Harder difficulties in DMC games aren't just "we upped the damage". They mix up enemy placement in ways that wouldn't work on a first playthrough, like introducing an end-game miniboss style enemy in the first chapter or something. Bayonetta does something similar.

this, i usually only use it to get in enough hits to ignite, do a few hits with blow mode, then round trip sparda and go real impact an enemy for the easy SS rank and end with a taunt, Balrog on its own is straight trash, i would trade Cerb for beowulf

DMC games always have you play every difficulty. They want you to get an S rank at at every level, and some times getting S on easier difficulties can be tricky in its own way because enemies die too quick to style on.

I did and even then, it's pretty tough. On Human, his fireballs do like 7+ bars of damage after you break his shield for the first time and he'll hit you with the time stop -> fire balls over and over.

You see that big red ring around the R symbol in that webm? That's a full gauge. That gauge fills with each successful block. You can use that gauge to return big fat damage back to your foes.

I've been playing for a whole day and i'm miserable. I've played as nero for five years.
Split Is RB+FORWARD+Y it's hardwired into me. I can't use backwards for it. it goes against my very being.
So i'm having a super hard time playing this fucking game. I'm fucking up and always diving away from the enemies when I want to do split. even so the game still says i'm doing well.
DMC5 feels really weird. I'm not sure what to think of it everything is really easy to to do now & just feels really messy i'm not sure how rewarding it's going to be in the long run. one things for sure tho...

Dante is basically smacking Vergil to make him move on past Eva’s death

So I just finished the game and here are my thoughts:
1. Cavaliere is cool as fuck, probably the one I had the most fun with
2. Balrog is probably the worst bralwer type weapon introduced in DMC games
3. King Cerberus is pretty cool but you get it too fucking late and barely have time to use it
4. Guns are really bad
5. Swordmaster and Trickster seem to be the best overall styles
6. I never liked Nero in DMC4 but Devil Breakers are really a game changer and I enjoyed him a lot in 5, though not as much as Dante
7. V is boring as fuck to be play with to be honest, will probably never use him again unless I'm forced to
8. The twist was MGSV tier and pretty fucking stupid
9. Why does V dress up like an edgy teenager considering the truth of who he is?He neither looks nor plays anything like Vergil.
10. Vergil fight was fucking great I hope we get him playable soon.

The plot is all about Vergil's journey to redemption and defeating that corruption within him resulting in a new Vergil who only battles his brother for fun and left his most cherished possession with Nero and if those menu scenes are any evidence Dante and Vergil eventually get out of hell so they can spend akward time together with Nero. As a Vergilfag I loved it but I can see how someone who isn't fond of Vergil wouldn't like it as much.

So Dante in Sin DT is stronger than Urizen with the fruit powerup which means Mundus is pretty much just Goliath-tier to Dante now.

I'd say they're about even. Helter Skelter and Rawhide are particularly bad though, it's like they're solely designed to destroy armour/control crowds but that's what EX/MAX-Act is for.

Yeah, Devil Hunter is pretty easy so far, I've gotten all Ss. V is as fun as I was hoping he'd be which only makes me angrier he won't be coming back. It's so annoying, I keep trying to ignore the Vergil twist but it's practically inescapable. Beyond that, most of my criticisms are mostly nitpicks.

Learn to switch between the modes effectively. Use the kick mode sparingly for air mobility , and jabs quickly with blow mode to build the flames before going to town. The DA is a little awkward to use at first, but after you learn how to use the modes properly, it's the best brawler DA hands down.

I do have to wonder why people don act like being tired leads to losing for dante and vergil. It was literally a plot point in DMC3 where Arkham explained that's how he was able to win against them. Saying he never could have beaten them if they hadn't beaten each other up beforehand allowing him to come in and clean up afterwards.

DMC5 is a weird case for me because cutscenes stutter like crazy for some reason but in game everything runs smootly, don't think I've ever dropped down from 60fps while in game.

You can see them fighting some demons far off in the Dante's flashback, guess it could be scripted but yeah.

Pressing the Devil Bringer after any action does a quick jab of 20 damage. A normal swing is 60.

And when I mean any action, I mean ANY action. Taunts, shoot, rolls, swings, breaker attacks, dropkicks even devil trigger activation.
Only actions you can't punch on are jump, rev and buster.

Since they do fixed damage, they are best used for ORA ORA barrages like Helter Skelter, Tomgirl and Gebera's Stamen Ray.

Unfortuntely the timing for Devil Kunkle and Max Act is completely different. It will take some of Freak of nature to master pressing TWO buttons in perfect timing after each swing.
