Not him, but my biggest gripe was how the materia system is an illusion of choice, there are pretty much no options and the only fun materia are hidden in the end of the game.

Aerith's death. He's mistaken though. Common folk remembered Sephiroth walking through the flames and Cloud's Buster sword too.
