Most likely will in the grand scheme of things. Toby will probably add ¨choices¨ and put some dialogue at the end of it all that speaks directly to the player, telling them that despite adding ¨choices¨ and ¨consequences¨ to your actions, they never truly mattered in the end, I dunno.
Undertale´s underlying theme was about ¨doing stuff because you can, not because you should¨, so this one may have one about choices in life or something.

The game actually does save the data from when you enter it at the beginning.

My gut feeling is that they'll be three endings. A 'Save the light world' and 'save the dark world' endings (Probably with Susie and Ralsei trying to push you in different directions) then a third 'Save Both' Ending that requires new game+ or a pacifist run or something.

Maybe not full on evil, but at least make him butt heads with someone. We never saw him get truly angry, or in a situation calling for questionable actions. Susie already did all that in Chapter 1.

I think this game will highlight how none of your choices really matter, while still acknowledging that you made them, to contrast with the first game.

Toby obviously wants to play around with the aspect of "choice" this time with Deltarune as Undertale was all about choices. I expect a bunch of clever twists regarding it.

You know what's so great about the Demo? There's no Sans. There are no pretentious overtones. Your choice don't matter. It's just Flowey, Toriel, you and the fear of the unknown.
