I wouldn't compare it to Rust in terms of PvP. If you avoid high pop PvP servers there is still a lot the game has going for it. Rust is basically just a generated map where people shoot at each others, Conan Exiles is handcrafted and varied, with dungeons and a lot of "secrets" to find as a new player. There's the option to play on a server that excludes damage to buildings but you can still fight other people at take their stuff, which is a nice middle ground.
Hows the singleplayer experience? Can you actually do stuff on your own or do you need a group to get anything meaningful done in a reasonable amount of time?
Also heavily depends on the server you are playing. There are servers with crazy ratings that will allow you to reach max lvl and build shit within a few hours. As for normal rates, it might take you a while to reach the endgame stuff (which is fine imo) but if you are really trying to level up there are ways to get it done pretty fast. You can build huge bases even as a solo player though they most likely won't withstand an angry clan with assloads of ressources. Also you can just play offline or coop with a friend which is what I did for my first 50 hours or so, it was still great fun exploring everything.
You can change the setting in solo to have a faster game. You also have access to admin options to make it even more faster and/or easier. The only things that require help are world bosses.
But even in solo the atmosphere and exploration are cool

There is a sliders for breasts. You can have flat chest or big melons. And there's mods to make them even bigger and more bouncy. Pretty sure there's a mesh that makes ass bigger too. And vanilla game has full nudity.
Shadow is such weird game - It looks great, there's so much effort put into graphics, animations, mud technology and shit. Combat is fun but there's so little of it it doesn't matter. Tombs are fun too but they're basically side quests. Everything else is just meh. This game is lesser than the sum of its parts if that makes sense.

I Just got done playing it, I've owned it since it's release but never really played it.
This game seems daunting at first when you consider that it's a squad-based mech shooter by the guys who just made System Shock, a game with notoriously cumbersome controls, but it actually plays much smoother in comparison.
man i have to play this again. its just that shitty story and the fact that road trains (or whatever theyre called - the "boss battles" with lots of cars) dont respawn because they were the best part of the game
Too much taking control away from the player, the first third or so of the game has so many cinematic cutscenes that at best involve limited player interaction It's an action adventure, not some cinematic walking simulator ffs
It's easy man. You just gotta build consistent speeds that don't decelerate too fast and smooth, fluid corners, drops/raises, and inversions. Nobody wants to be going 50 mph and then turning 180 degrees the other way in 20 ft and .25 seconds.

I think there is a good ending at the end though. Yes, the planet was basically a battery for an angry bird alien and the government misinterpreted the whole thing and tried giving a false meaning that ended up justifying privilege for the few over the many, however, however, they do hint heavily that they were afraid of even looking at other sources of energy, it was forbidden, they were fixed on just using the semen, and now that the ruling class is dead, the open minded scientists can freely work and the planet stopped dying, they can finally look at different solutions.
I've probably spent more time taking screens in this game than playing. Its pretty difficult to get good shots. Each stage has different lighting which changes effects, most spells add lighting that helps.
The combat is way too fucking fast to enjoy the tactics and battles. You have to micro constantly and then the game is over. Looks pretty when you pause and check angles tho.
Try the alternative lighting mod Also worth trying ReShade with some of the more subtle effects enabled A _lot_ of Warhammer 2 battle maps are miserable lighting configs though
