I will admit that the gameplay feels very stiff compared to 2, especially with characters like Terra, but once you combine spells and get abilities the game becomes more fun. The camera is shit though. I would advise to at least look up the recipes for Leaf Bracer, Second Chance and Once More at least. Otherwise bonus bosses and even some story bosses will be pure hell.

You're going to want to buy an Aero and a Blizzard from a store sometime in the first few worlds and have it ready (you'll know what I mean) for when you get to Radiant Garden. The enemies you want to kill as soon as you get there are the shitty rabbit ones that sit on the ground and shoot circles at you. Kill those until you get an Abounding Crystal. You want EXP Walker as fast as humanly possible because it makes it so you get 1 EXP every time you take a step.

I didn't much like it because it was my 3rd time trekking through the worlds from KH1 (because I ended up losing my save data near the end of it due to corruption) and I wasn't a huge fan of the card gameplay

Overall CoM is good, but people played the inferior ReCom version where worlds are terrible because the maps are bigger which makes a chore to do them and the 3d battles are awkward as fuck with the card system. In the gba version the worlds are fucking small and fast to do, and the battles are a sidescroll which fits perfectly the card system
Riku's story is also the best part of the game.
