Whats are some videogames that fit grunge music?
Whats are some videogames that fit grunge music?

NEVER SHOULD OF PREVENTED SAFE PASSAGE HERE!
Did you know the whole soundtrack had lyrics? youtu.be
>that episode of unplugged where layne was so fucked up he could barely sit up straight, most of his teeth were gone, and he had to read a print out of the lyrics to his own music
tough to watch desu
Fighting games and MK in specific. Jar of Flies however is more Dark Souls or Stalker, anything that makes you feel isolated and/or alone.
>unused doom tracks released some time ago
>basically Dirt on its entirety
fucking bobby prince
Yeah but when he delivers its amazing.
Jar of Flies is the only grunge related release I can tolerate. And it's pretty fucking good.
Pearl Jam's first three albums for me plus Jar of Flies.
>playing men of valor many many years ago
>in the jungle humping some hill #whatever
>rooster comes on
>buddy gets bamboo forked
PTSD.
Sega of Japan hated this game so goddamn much.
Why? It's a good game, it's just really hard.
They thought it embodied everything that was wrong with American culture, according to one of the game's devs.
>tfw everyone considered the melodrama of grunge as a theatrical thing akin to emo
>in reality we now know they were serious because so many of the big names killed themselves
Sega of Japan was (and mostly still is) fucking retarded.
KNOW ME BROKEN BY MY MASTER
Whats are some videogames that fit nu-metal music?
Your Naruto PS2 games.
Nu metal kids loved Final Fantasy 7 in the years following.
"Grunge" is literally the worst genre of all time.
You kids don't realize that "grunge" was the emo of its time. It was hated by nearly everyone.
Top tier nu metal
Metal Gear Rising Revengence.
Ninja Gaiden
DmC
Bottom tier
Twisted metal(limp biscuit of nu metal)
most of their songs were about either bullying or child abuse
which are?
got any pacifics?
>literally the worst
>mumble rap exists
opinion discarded
The dev talks about it here
sega-16.com
Alice in chains>>Nirvana=pearl jam
Don't try to refute this.
Soundgarden was fantastic.
Silent hill
STP > post
pfft literally nothing
Pearl Jam is basically the Nickelback of the early 90s and all their music is the same; Nirvana isn't nearly that bad.
Well like he said, they didn't have veto power. They just didn't like it.
>Nirvana isn't nearly that bad.
They were dopey heroin fucks, of course they were that bad.
>Pearl Jam is basically the Nickelback of the early 90s
Only because Creed wasn't until the late 90s
>like nu-metal but find the lyrics and backstories cringe-inducing tier but somewhat relatable
LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR
No, Nickelback was the Nickelback of the 90s.
i'm being unimaginative here but the easy ones are road rash and GTASA
Downloaded the instrumentals for hybrid theory and meteora to take a break from their angst. I like how the DJ can ad ambiance to metal.
I don't remember their garbage flooding the radio until 2001 or so.
San Andreas is the least "grunge" game EVER. 90s gangsta rap is the OPPOSITE of "grunge".
Rock Band
Nickelback isn't hate simply because all their music is the same (and also shit), it's because in addition to that they were the biggest rock band in the world at one point and people thought they didn't deserve the fame.
They're been around since 95 dude.
feels weird that Chester Bennington didn't have the same effect after he offed himself as several other rock stars. He was the news of the week and that's it.
Sometimes I wish for a nu-nu-metal that does away the angst lyrics and shrieking and keeps the bass guitar and everything else in tact.
He killed himself well after his prime years and his fans growing out of his music.
You can find Deftones' early nu-metal albums in instrumental form.
Djent comes about as close as you'll get. There is still some angst, but it's a little more refined and introspective. Try Periphery, Tesseract, The Contortionist for starters.
Well, that would imply Bennington was anywhere near the level of iconic that David Bowie, Chris Cornell, or Tom Petty were.
He just simply wasn't.
What are some genres that fit this?
youtube.com
Jon Davis sounded like a straight up flaming faggot taking it up the ass while he's recording, next he shouts like he's saying DURR DURR about sucking cocks and shit. I never understood the appeal of the vocals.
Those guys didn't kill themselves
it was a different time user
YOU CAN'T SEE CALIFORNIA WITHOUT MARLON BRANDO'S EYES
Chris Cornell did.
(You)
They really didn't get big until the 2000s.
Cornell did. Him and Chester were close and it was one of the reasons why he decided to end it.
Slipknot seems unsurpassed in terms of pure edgelordness
>Soundgarden
>anywhere near as big as Linkin Park
This is delusional. EVERYONE knows Linkin Park. Soundgarden is forgotten.
Whole lot of 30yo boomers here.
Slipknot has some damn good songs
CAN YOU TAKE IT ALL AWAAAAAAAAAY
CAN YOU TAKE IT ALL AWAAAAAAAAYYY
WELL YOU SHOVED IT IN MY FACE
THIS PAIN YOU GAVE TO MEEEE
You gotta be when you come from fucking Iowa.
>Yea Forums listens to neckbeard music
So... it's not just a meme? You really are all 500lbs. basement-dwellers?
Yeah I'm sure he was so upset he broke his own ribs before hanging himself.
what do you listen to
Same, I'd kill for nu-metal to take off like new retrowave did for the 80s. Even for strictly instrumental tracks
Thing is, synthwave is easier to get into, what with only needing a computer.
No I'm just old and remember when they were cool.
I believe Metalcore is the closest to today's nu-metal is, although it sounds over produced.
God, the pop shit they went into was the worst, by then, even his suicide felt like disingenuous move.
What is it about grunge that any attempt to recreate it past 2000's has been a huge failure? Also pic related best post-grunge album.
>Puddle of Mudd
>grunge
them bones is the most bizarre hit of all time. verses in 7/4 with a chromatic chord progression
Art is usually an answere to something in the mainstream.
80s metal was the top bill. Then, grunge came in and basically made fun of the tropes. Nu-metal was next and incorporated the rap boom shortly followed by a small pop punk wave, which was more up beat, then emo and depressing again.
We haven't gotten back to the rock stars fucking supermodels in a long time with metal. It's all in the rap game now.
To be fair, it was a pretty shit game and the very few who like it have nostalgia for it.
Who is the Billie Joe Armstrong of video games?
Vermillion is based BASED
the Flintstones, bedrock bowling
I had no idea. This has a Smashing Pumpkins kinda sound to it.
Jon Blow
>went from teenage punk love/hate songs of the 90s to a whiny 50 year old boomer who lashes out at fans because they think trump is okay
it all went down hill after insomniac
IN THE LAND OF MAKE BELIEVE
fpbp
Tony Hawk? Or Tony Hawk is blink?
>Only because Creed wasn't until the late 90s
Creed is better than Pearl Jam
All I know is that portishead is pratically Silent Hill.
Who is the Sonic Youth of games?
I don't remember if it actually has any of his music in, but you can play as Fred Durst in the Fight Club game on PS2.
Funny you mention Tony Hawk...
Why niggers can't into skateboards?
>It was hated by nearly everyone.
zoomer detected. Nirvana played ad infitum on the radio and people loved them
top teencore angst kino
Sega of Japan is why we can't have nice things
