It's ironic he hated Kenshiro of all characters, the guy who actually kills. The idea is that Kenshin's a musclehead who acts based on emotion rather than logic, but his arguments against Kenshiro killing assholes are emotion-based and expose the sort if convenient, edgy "philosophy" that any card carrying villain would have. Kenshiro uplifts humanity by administering justice in a world sorely lacking in it.
