Where did all the good dinosaur games go?
Where did all the good dinosaur games go?
dinosaurs are too based for nu-vidya desu
i just want far-cry with dinosaurs
After primal I wouldn't be too sure.
People figured out that dinosaurs can't carry a game. Even one with non-human threats as the main enemy would require human antagonists to stay engaging. You need conflict with emotional if not philosophical stakes. That can't happen without human-like intelligence on either side.
Didn't play that one, what were it's shortcomings? Honestly I'm just looking for Carnivores with a story.
They went extinct, I guess.
Vrex chase sequences on ps2 king Kong are still my best experience with dinosaurs in videogames
Primal was great if you played with all the difficulty stuff maxed out. Needing to find food, limited fast travel, most HUD/handholding elements removed, caveman language, it was a better experience than 4.
Doesn't sound all too hard
Maybe something like a JP game where you play an escaped dinosaur. The game wastes no time telling you why the humans are "da bad guys." Only that they're hurting you and you want to stay away from them. Then again, trying to come up with an set objective that'll carry weight gameplay wise might be a challenge.
i'm guessing it's because
>muh animal cruelty
>muh feather inaccuracy
>muh scientific accuracy in general
>not serious enough for mature political games
>can just make a zombie game instead
it's a shame
Extinct. This should have been the first post, you all disappoint me greatly
The real question is, why did all the good dinosaurs go?
I want a game about capturing dinosaurs more than one about surviving them.
they became too specialized
featherfags need to die
The way of the dinosaur
Saurian
I can't think of a really good game with dinosaurs...and i love dinosaurs :(
Play jurassic world alive. Pokémon go but with rad dinos and 5 times better.
Dino Crisis 3 killed them all
>tfw everyone only cares about avemetatarsalia attention whores
>tfw no love for mesozoic suchians
scientist ruined dinosaurs by not leaving well enough alone, there's nothing cool about giant chickens
Is Jurassic Park Evolution good?
I've only heard people talking about big discounts for it.
It's okay, but it lacks in personalization, which is a big no-no for me in a park sim.
When the fuck have there been good Dinosaur games? Aside from Turok but it was primarily a shooter first, Dinosaurs later.
all birds are dinosaurs but not all dinosaurs are birds you uneducated mongoloid
Hey, Sarchosuchus gets love
birds and lizards both descended from what we think of as "dinosaurs". Some of them still exist, like crocodiles/alligators.
Has some stuff for the feather fags too
Was it the case for all dinosaurs? And it probably wasn't feathers exactly like modern birds either.
Doesn't ARK have dinos?
Crocs and gators descended from a separate clade: crocodilians lived alongside the dinosaurs, and developed prior to their Triassic debut.
Mostly on therapods like late Coeluerosaurians and dromeosaurids
ARK's too busy chasing the chinese dollar with their fucking horrendous sci-fi trash with giant mechs, furry dragons that shoot icebreath and giant kaiju monster bosses.
Don't deliberately spread misinformation
Birds are the only surviving kind of dinosaur, crocodiles are related to dinosaurs, but not considered dinosaurs. Lizards aren't closely related to dinosaurs, nor descended from them.
Crocodiles are more closely related to birds than they are to lizards.
Because dinosaurs take too much work for modern devs.
It's challenging to model and animate a single dinosaur species let alone multiple.
They would much rather just make another zombie game because both the skeleton and animations are easier to make.
He looks like an alligator
Fat alligator
>T-Rex is closer to today than it is to Stegosaurus
The sheer length of the Mesozoic Era is mind-boggling.
Honestly though how many zombie games are actually in vogue right now?
The Isle is a good dinosaur survival simulation game where you play as a juvenile dinosaur trying to grow into adulthod and form packs with other players. It's pretty popular on twitch right now.
Chad Alligator
You think the mesozoic is crazy,, wait until you see the Cambrian
Jurassic Park: Operation Genisis
Doesn't this game suck ass
my "friend" wont shut the fuck up about a streamer naned dandi and this game called the isle and ark. so fucking annoying with trash taste
King nigga gator
You scrub, the Hadean is where the real chads are at.
The isle is a good game. Ark isn't.
Not if you like collecting/and fighting dinos. It's a long term grind no doubt but it's a comfy mobile game with a great Dev team and genuinely fun combat
it's still pretty interesting that like 99% of all genetic variation in earth's life is located in the bacteria and archaea
eukaryotes are pretty inbred overall
ARK ITS ALL YOU NEED
Best PVE
BEST PVP
Solo
Coop
Mmo
Survival
Fps
Bulding
What more do you need
KEK
>Lizardmen
wow, Yea Forums really don't like dinosaurs huh?
Tiny trex on ass defense duty
he cute
Where my Giga Niggas at
That's what you get with vertical gene transfer only.
That might be the derpiest carnivore I've ever seen
at least humans could kick up the eukaryote genetic variation into overdrive
if we ever get those bans on genetic research lifted
Spinochads ftw
Why so many carnivore dinosaurs have bony structures in front or above of their eyes? Did it prevent sun getting in their eyes and made them see better?
>boomers will now remember Dinosaurs For Hire
Fuck man I want more dinosaur games. I really liked Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis all these years ago. The only good recent dino game was essentially it's reboot, Jurassic World.
The problem with Primal was it was one of their quick asset flip spinoffs they do after ever numbered game rather than a numbered full game itself
but there's no good zombie games coming out either
Just fought one and whupped his ass
How are those new hind limbs working out for ya?
in some cases it was for mating dislays or possibly intraspecies fighting and in some theropods, probably to protect the eyes when feeding on large carcasses
hi fellas
This is a fantasy dinosaur and not something that actually existed, right?
Spinochads stand on two limbs.
Don't tell me you fell for the quadruped meme.
Yeah in the game he's a cross breed of a Utahraptor and a Sinoceratops
What's this?
Spinolets can disregard their center of gravity now?
The Jurassic Park game for the Genesis.
>it's a dumb, chinlet carnotaurus poster
checks out
they're kinda sexy
user, no
