To make PC gaming have soul you need a gloss or semi-gloss monitor, a mechanical keyboard (cheap ones are fine), a wired 360/Xbone controller and/or PS4 controller, a comfy arm chair and matching desk at proper height, BIAS lighting behind monitor (extremely important for image quality and eye strain), and a huge mousepad so you can get used to low DPI.

In PC games or even PC in general, you are get used to be in charge. Any attempt to reduce the user's power will face backlash.
In console you are used to be served because the only purpose of the machine is to play games (and some unrelated limited shits).
People who aren't used with pc ecosystem will feel overwhelmed. People who are used with it will feel constrained when using anything but it.
Both have it's pros and cons. But having a powerful pc exclusively for (console) gayming is a waste however. At least learn 3d modelling or encode some shits.

This is dumb, I'm into PC hardware and tech solely as it pertains to games. I keep up to date on the intel/AMD shill wars and market competition and latest tech and benchmarks and I only care about video games. I have no interest in coding or 3D modelling but I love building PC's and pushing hardware to its limit with games and finding out how to get the most optimization possible in games.

If PC users cared about having power then Steam and all other digital distribution platforms would have never been accepted. Pirates are the only real PC gamers

I got scared of input lag and went for a 4K32" monitor + 40 inch TV when in bed, the TV is still 1080P but I'll worry about that later.

TV's today are fine for gaming, a 60hz monitor is going to have a true 10-15ms input lag and there are a few 60hz TV's that have 15-20ms input lag and good response time. Look them up on RTINGS, Samsung, TCL, and I think Vizio all have sub 20ms TV's. There are also a few true 120hz TV's that have input lag comparable to a 120hz monitor, but those are thousand dollar TV's.

It's great, takes some getting used to if you're coming from 27" or smaller but you'll never want to go back. Just make sure to adjust the FOV properly in games. I don't understand why more people don't get a nice ~43" 4K TV for less than half the price of a 30" monitor or less, if you do your research and make sure it doesn't suffer from some common TV issues like input lag and dynamic contrast you can't turn off it's just as crisp as a monitor. Although you'll have to forego the 144/288hz meme and settle for 60hz or 75hz at best since no GPU exists that will run games at 4K@144hz/fps obviously, but I massively prefer resolution to anything over 60hz.

Text looks fine and this screen is AH-IPS or just plain IPS so it's not straining in the least, my previous was also IPS but the one before that was TN and that was actually pretty harsh on the eyes.

There is an issue where certain highly specific tightly packed text/characters can appear slightly discolored blueish/red when they're actually black, but my real monitor also had that somewhat, and it's not bothersome in the least, normal text looks fine, it's just those rare unicode characters you rarely see that for some reason confuse the RGB pixel matrix or something.

You should really do research and read all the reviews you can though, most TVs have unusable levels of input lag, mine does too unless I disable "computer mode" (paradoxically) which supposedly turns off all the post-processing stuff, but I can disable all that manually anyway, now it's like 20ms which is fine. It wasn't easy to find a 43" 4K with an IPS screen but when it was on sale during 2017 black friday for 400 down from 600 I couldn't resist and I haven't regretted it one bit, it's great for everyday use and downright spectacular in games, playing Dishonored 2 feels almost like having VR if you set FOV to 100/110+.

Forgot, also make sure to check that the screen can actually do 60hz over Displayport or HDMI and that it has multiple capable inputs so you can plug in PC and for example a console at 4K without having to switch the cables, plenty of TVs only have 1 4K60-capable input.
