Yosuke is the most unlikable cock sucker I have seen in any of these games. Literal serial killers are more likeable and sympathetic than he is. Junpei meanwhile is one of the best haracters in the series and has probably the best character arc of anyone in Persona. It's pretty fucking obvious which one is better.

This is a problem I think every Persona game after 3 is going to have now. All the main cast gets one arc to grow a little and then all other development is relegated to S. Links. Ryuji's arc in his S.Link was pretty good, 100 times better than Yosuke's, but it's a shame doesn't show up anywhere else. Still that's a problem all the characters in 4 and 5 suffer, they aren't really allowed grow past their introduction arc.

Yosuke is homophobic so he automatically loses.

I like Yosuke’s characterization in the manga, where he’s fleshed out more and is a vastly more likable character compared to how he was in-game. He even developed a touching friendship with Saki’s little brother, which I felt was a very nice touch. That really should’ve been how it was in the actual game.

Yosuke literally exists to suck the MC's dick and tell him how amazing he is, that's it. Junpei on the other hand has one of the best character arcs in the entire Persona series. Junpei at the beginning of the game and Junpei and the end of the game are two different people. Ryuji has a good character arc too but it's literally finished after the first palace and he is just kind of there for the rest of the game, his English VA does an incredible job delivering his lines though.

The anime really dragged him down. The game let him be the voice of reason at times and help bring the IT together, but the anime just had to give all that to the super special MC-kun and leave Yosuke with all the jobber roles. He was fucking robbed.

No, I'm talking about his S-link. He can see that Yu is a chad and that he isn't, but instead of lashing out against him like Junpei did with door kun, he realizes it's his own insecurities and asks Yu to help him grow out of it... via punching.

Yosuke's inferiority complex only comes up once. He's a poorly written character. His entire motivation is over a dead girl who only had like two or short scenes. Which seems to be a running flaw with Persona. We knew Yamaoka for like a combined total of five minutes, we knew what's-her-name Eikichi's girl for a similar amount of time, then there's Saki in P4 and Shiho in P5.

They're both pretty good characters, but Junpei changes the most. Junpei doesn't like some new weirdo coming in and stealing all his thunder, and he lets you know it. Hell in the FemC route he even resorts to complaining that a woman is in charge, showing that he's grasping at straws to justify his reasons for not liking you. Yosuke is always pretty much jealous of you for your power and your leadership position, but he's too cowardly to rock the boat. He's a different take on the jealous friend that could've been done a little bit better.
