>yfw you have to fight fatto catto
m19 might just be the single most overtuned mission i've ever seen in an action game.
is she in it?
HOLY FUCK WHY IS JUMP CANCELING SO EASY NOW!?
nope, some lines in flashback and a phone call, thats it
Unfortunately no, they couldn't find a model with an ass fat enough for Kyrie.
Nero physically altered reality so that she didn't get a model, and therefore there will be no sfm porn of her.
You talk with her twice but she never makes a direct appearance. Literally phoned in.
10/10,best game in the series.
Few questions though, it said I can view the first time I killed an enemy but nothing is there. Is that to do with the retake thing in Nicos files?
Second how do I get Nico as an announcer?
She’s apart of the extra announcers in the deluxe edition.
I got the deluxe edition with the pasta breaker and shit, is that not the right edition for Nico?
It is the right edition for Nico. It works just fine for me. Did you go to the options to change the announcer?
Yeah, only V Dante and Nero were there
>mfw Dante just fucks off into hell and takes both Kalina Anns with him
Poor Lady
>he can dematerialize his arm at will to enable him to continue to use the Devil Breaker mechanic
This is going to evolve into him being able to phase out of reality at will isn’t it.
Weird.
I've just beaten mission 20 on devil hunter again, and unlocked V ex color and Nero's "Recovery Provocation". Why didn't it unlock on the first time?
So Lady is the only cute girl in the game? Son Im disappoint.
>DMC 6 starts
>Dante and Vergil have too much of a CUHRAZY time in hell and they accidentally break the seal on Mundus
>They're both too hungover to stop him
Whats the 3 million thing orb ?
So, how exactly did Agnus end up knocking up some Texan girl if Fortuna seems to be located somewhere in Europe?
>Two Kalinna ann literally makes V's minions boss fight the easiest fucking thing
Dumb Griffon, birds can't handle 10 missiles at once.
>no sfm porn of her.
not using the old model
>Mundus becomes the new playable ally because Dante has gone mad with power enslaving demons to recreate pizza in hell
He was travelling at the time. It's in the novel, at some point he gets called back by Sanctus and no-one outside of Fortuna sees him again.
It's really insane how difficult it is, I'm genuinely surprised reviewers managed to beat it. I've been trying for at least 5 hours now and I've gotten close once, you basically have to play absolutely perfectly for 20 minutes because Dante doesn't do any damage in this game. And that's on Devil Hunter difficulty.
That’s the opposite of a problem.
is vergil nero's father?
>yfw Arkham is literally the least shit dad in DMC because he was actually there for Mary’s childhood
Any features or easter eggs from DmC?
Yes Nero became Sesshomaru.
Vergil doesn’t remember having sex.
as far as i can tell, this game has been casualized pretty hard, which is evident by the fact there's no turbo mode.
there will never be a hack and slash as mechanically deep and skill intensive as dmc4.
Yes but either Vergil fucked so many girls he doesn't remember which one or its such a minor footnote in his life he doesn't really recall it
he was RAPED by a women
Might be the credits fights. In Nero's section Nico said something like, "C'mon, you can do better than that," and in the Dante section I can't remember what was said but it was something about Vergil getting more kills I think. And I unlocked nothing. So I'm guessing impressing Nico (killing everything that comes, I'm assuming the Judecca is the last one) and killing more demons than Vergil would be what unlocks those.
You literally can't fail if you abuse golden orbs, that's how.
>entire climax is literally just Dante and Vergil dicking around until Nero bitchslaps them and tells them to hurry up and save the world already
You couldn’t kill the tension harder if you tried.
I've been stuck on M19 for almost 6 hours now and I've beat every other DMC but 2 on DMD at a good pace, except for 3 which was quite difficult. This is just ridiculous and needs to get patched, you can't expect people to play absolutely perfectly on normal difficulty.
There's no turbo mode because it's just been released and the sales-focus has been on consoles that can't handle turbo. It'll come to consoles with the next-gen re-release, the only question is whether they'll let PC have it before then.
You're kidding, right? You can just play it safe with Trickster.
I did it in six attempts with no continues.
Its honestly amazing how itsuno turned the "FUCK YOU" into an epic moment with meaning and impact
Ninja theory must be seething right now
reminds me of getting the grenade launcher in dmc1 and game becoming easy mode
I'm not and I've been using nothing but trickster and swordmaster for when I hit him, gunslinger to get rid of the swords. It's really fucking hard and I'm just not good enough anymore I guess, that and Dante is just really weak in this game if you don't abuse SDT which I'm ignoring on purpose, not that it would be good against Vergil.
>Its sole reason for existing was simply to give Dante a better sword
How will Rebellionfags EVER recover from this?
Fucking kino
>V will never return
>No sequel series featuring the Sons of Vergil
Welp, there goes my pre-release theories
>*tips fedora*
Yeah SDT is not good against Vergil, didn't use it at all.
You might wanna mix in some royal guarding, his helmsplitter is really easy to RG as is the flying charge.
He gets way harder in the next difficulties as well, look forward to it!
im pretty sure turbo has little to no effect on the framerate.
What are those thumbs up icons on the mission selection screen?
Fuck man I didn't even think about DmC with that since I saw it being completely in-character of Nero due to all of the frustration he's amassed at that point.
I kinda feel the ending was bad. I wanted something more conclusive that two boomers fighting each other in hell for eternity.
Then why does the HD collection have Turbo Mode on consoles? And DMC4:SE? And DmC:DE?
Only DMC1 & 3 had fulfilling endings. I don't really expect these games to end on a high note.
why the fuck did Dante even go into hell? I get that vergil is a powerfag but what about Trish, Pizza, and all that for Dante?
Because those games are far less technically demanding.
Nero’s always been a hot head punk.
Older games mate.
They were setting PS2 games to turbo and were only able to set DMC4 to turbo on consoles on the next console generation or on an enhanced later PC port.
We're not sure whether it's possible to add turbo to the console versions even.
Vergil's color scheme and use of doppelganger
Dante's ex color
Yamato opening portals
The flashback of Dante's mom going back to save Vergil was supposed to clue you in that Dante wants to do right by his brother and not leave him behind and finally be with him this final time. Also pic related. It was all culminating to show that Vergil might act like he could work alone, but in reality he wants a friend or brother with him.
I'm not saying that no consoles can handle any turbo you absolute dingus, I'm saying PS4 and Xbone can't handle DMC5 at turbo (not without tanking the FPS). DMC4 and DmC never had turbo in their original releases because PS360 couldn't handle it, even when they released turbo for PC. DMCSE and DmC:DE were released on PS4 and Xbone, which are more powerful and can handle it. DMC5 (on console at least) will get turbo with the PS5 and whatever Xbox comes next releases.
>Feeling accepting yet
>Of your strength? Or of your existence?
Why is Vergil such a fucking asshole.
Having to fight griffon, shadow, and nightmare was really sad to be honest
Agreed. I also disliked how they basically turned Geryon, Cerberus, and Gilgamesh into mooks part of a race rather than unique demons, it retroactively takes a fat shit on them, especially Cerb.
>Nero confronts Vergil in a serious dramatic clash of philosophies
>"Hey Dante, if I beat him, that counts as beating you!"
He is an actual autist
I'm honestly convinced he's autistic at this point. Maybe the trauma gave him some social dissorder. He doesnt even seem to remember having sex
>Nero is my son?
It's more baffling to me how everyone is so fucking accepting of him. I can understand Nero not wanting family members to murder each other (he cares a great deal for Dante, too, much more than Vergil) but the whole "No you can't kill your father" and everyone ignoring that, once again, Vergil erected a fucking demon spire in a town, killing hundreds if not thousands of people due to incredibly petty reasons is completely ignored.
I, once again, can see Nero being conflicted. He got along with V and has some issues, but everyone else? The hell?
ARE "SUPER" COSTUMES IN?!
LMK!
I get the feeling the only reason Dante even stayed in the human world was for the sake of protecting it. Trish is cool, pizza is nice, but ultimately he's only ever enjoying his life when he's fighting. Now he can entrust Nero to protecting things, he can finally go let loose.
>BOTH, YOU FUCKIN’ ASSHOLE!
Yes.
Dante’s new sword is summoned out of thin air, just like Donte’s.
How the fuck are so many anons struggling with this fight?
I S ranked it my first clear and that only took 3 tries
>hundreds if not thousands of people
I think millions. There was a lot of blood. Enough that there were fucking rivers of it pumping into Urizen Vergil for maybe a full month.
>dad ripped off his arm
>didn't even say hi
>dad's demon half was a huge dick that put his cool uncle into a coma for a month
>kills V, who Nero actually ends up getting along with
>kills a ton of demons on his way to the top of the qliphoth
>dad says "so uhhh what exactly do you want me to acknowledge?"
Yeah, it honestly was a lot more earned than Donte's "Fuck you" to a random demon
>Featuring Cerberus from the Devil May Cry Series
It was fun, but I honestly feel DMC2 should be kept as Dante's end game, have him slowly mature, becoming less of a goofball while having Nero take on a more fun-loving role now that Kyrie is safe so that they can both move forward. Vergil, Lady and Trish should all be a part of every game as playable characters only with no role in the storyline.
how did you do your damage?
>DON’T FUCK WITH ME
>YOU CUT OFF YOUR OWN SONS ARM TO GAIN POWER
>MY SON IS OF NO CONCERN TO ME
After the fight
>Nero is my son?
Felt weird desu
Normal sword combos and royal guard. I only royal guarded the summoned swords so you don't need to be an RG god
You can loop the first phase pretty easily
It's really interesting to see that Dante has not progressed at all since DMC3. Like, straight up after he decides to stay topside to protect the humans, that's the end of his arc; he's found a reason to live and keep going as his haha pizza man persona. Nearly every game chronologically after, he's been shifted to being a mentor, which is an interesting choice.
I secretly want Kyrie to get into demon hunting with Nero so they can become a demon hunting duo in a super campy Bonnie/Clyde type of relationship
>V will never return
Good, V looked and was fucking terrible he should have been in DmC.
To be fair, we didn't know jack shit about Gilgamesh before this game
>steals his son’s arm for more power
>still loses
did you watch the ending
>V
>Dante laying there with a shit eating grin and laughing at Vergil for still losing even after all of this
I kek'd
Yeah, how does this make any sense when it is all but stated in the novel that V knows Nero is his son?
That bitch slap nearly killed him, and he just sleeps it off.
>Dante only went to avoid paying back the debt
I'm very intrigued if Capcom modeled nipples for naked Lady and Trish
>tfw just watching streamers playing DMC5
>Most people laugh and have fun
>A few bitch and moan and die over and over again
DmC would have been a lot better if V was in it.
I can beat him but S-ranking is incredibly difficult. You must have done something right to do that first try and it can't have been that simple.
I broke down my method in an earlier thread. I'll try and find it
>being a zoomer
Can someone spoonfeed me and tell me who V ended up being after all?
>tfw rebinding Nero's DT so that it actually matches with everyone else
I swear they only put breakage on the fucking button just so that people don't realize that there are unmapped buttons for him.
Vergil's human side he ripped out of himself because he's autistic for more power.
Yea Forumsirgin but his good version.
>Dante and Vergil are confirmed to be britbongs
Vergil's human half
He used Yamato to separate his humanity from his demon half.
>Vergil steals Nero's Arm, gets the Yamato back from it
>A while later, he goes to his ruined childhood home and cuts himself with the Yamato to slice his existence in two
>Urizen is Vergil's demon half, V is Vergil's human half
>V, realizing that he completely fucked up as Vergil, goes to Dante for help
he's the result of Vergil's autistic lust for power
You can loop his first phase ez
Let him do his dash attack
dodge it then punish him (I like to do stinger, minimum amount of million stabs then one normal hit)
once you land a full combo just taunt him he'll start using summoned swords
Guard the summoned swords for ez free RG meter
He'll do the dash attack again
Rince and repeat until he goes into his next phase
In this phase his Judgement Cuts are multi hits so just spam dodge in one direction and that's the only move that's really any threat
When he goes DT you should go DT too
The best time to attack him in DT is after he does the two helm splitters into dash attack
If he teleports on top of you just spam dodge to one side and you'll most likely dodge everything and then you can punish
For his big fly around move just jump over him when he flies at you and RG the swords that surround you, you don't need to be a RG god just hold the button down
They have been britbongs since the beginning because Kamiya is a teeaboo.
Would you say the story is worse or better?
I haven't played it past mission 3 but I feel after following it so closely that they pulled an MGSV and showed all the interesting stuff already through the trailers. I'm already pretty spoilered and the plot seems disappointing, worse than DMC4 in some respects
it still has some pretty good moments outside of the spoilers
>Whole ending is about how they're evenly matched and will never settle who's better
>Despite the fact Dante beat Vergil on even terms like 30 years ago and Vergil needed months of blood steroids and a demon king fruit just to match him now
Bingo is a hack.
People will just headcanon it as DSD being the Sparda to Rebllion's Force Edge.
Still cheapens it as a Devil Arm. I don't really mind with Gilgamesh so much tho since it was shit.
>smashes vergil together with his doppelganger
>GET! FUCKED!
What exactly triggers the "proper" ending with the Lady/Trish/Morrison cutscene and the Vergil/Dante one at the end? S-ranking mission 20? I didn't get it on my first time but I did on the second.
Doing well enough in the fights
I like it more when Vergil stabs him with Yamato, only for Nero to pull it out and stab Vergil with it instead.
Hell yes
Odd because Nico and Vergil still gave me shit for not clearing enough lol.
what happens in the ending?
then you didn't do well enough in the credit fights
But I did get all the extra scenes at the end.
how do you unlock this??
Are those things on Nero's head in DT supposed to be horns, mini wings, or moth antennae?
RIP fatto catto
youtube.com
birb, catto and blob were a feel trip for me.
>The logo is actually Nero's wings
Oh fuck
Beat Dante Must Die. You’ll also get Nero and V’s Super costumes.
you are given a prototype devil breaker but it is a glove and not an arm replacement.
That’s always been obvious.
>Think you can beat me?
>NOT IN A MILLION YEARS
actual god
Is Nero's theme supposed to not play that often after Mission 6 or am I just shit at this game and need to constantly be hitting SSS to hear it? Just got to Mission 10 by the way.
Horns that resemble wings.
Remember how the Order of the Sword from 4 had an angelic/demonic juxtaposition?
Seems like Nero embraced that imagery.
This. Actual game dev here. Clocking the game speed higher doesn't actually draw more out of the console.
Nero still seems to have the power to phase his arm out of existence so it's honestly hard to tell if it really is a glove now.
all these coping replies
you people are a bunch of faggots
Nero managed to manifest naturally what the order were trying to twist demons into, it's like pottery
if RE2 is anything to go by they probably have certain gameplay elements tied to the framerate that could completely break with turbo mode being thrown into the mix
Turbo has a frame rate hit on DMC4, it's the reason it wasn't in the console version. You guys are dumb, playing more animations is going to drop the frame rate and the consoles are already struggling.
The other characters have different battle tracks that play throughout the game, but Nero's theme plays the most often
Even if you are shit at the game you would at least hear some of the music. The chorus starts at S rank, SS rank lets more of the chorus play, and I'm not even sure what the SSS rank difference is
to be fair though I've only gotten Nero to it once since I'm greedy with arms and Exceed rapes my trigger finger
Nico was a surprisingly enjoyable character.
And it took thousands of human sacrifices to cure him of his corrupted self.
Learning that she barely had control over the van sold her for me
it's probably because of they'll need to be careful, the last time that I saw a port get royally fucked and need patching was for Kingdom Hearts since a couple of bossfights were nearly unplayable due to the few mechanics and fights that did get fucked up
Dante says "You beating me? Not in a million years" to Vergil during their fight
>You guys are dumb, playing more animations is going to drop the frame rate and the consoles are already struggling.
Its actually playing less animations. Turbo actually skips total amount of rendered frames. The CPU needs to compensate but the graphics chip doesn't take a single hit. Consoles are frontloaded on the GPU for a lot of shit, the CPU is barely getting taxed at all, at least for most games. LDK wasn't on console because more models means more things being rendered, but turbo doesn't mean shit. Do you honestly think a 21st century CPU has a problem handling basic collision and pathing a little bit faster? Its not like the load increases, it just gets processed faster. Its a fucking computer.
>Did you just sniff that? Do you know where that's been?
>Up your butt.
She's cute!! I like that she smokes, too.
Do you get anything for beating the game on Human? Or should I not bother and just go straight to Son of Sparda?
I have the deluxe edition but how do I unlock the deluxe edition devil breakers? I thought I automatically get them right away but I’m not seeing anything. Please help
Her stuttering when she’s excited was god damn adorable
>Trish and Lady DLC
>Lady uses Pandora instead of KA
I would suck Itsuno's dick forever.
I wouldn’t expect anything less from Itsuno’s waifu.
>Mundus specifically goes after Nero because he fucked up his son Berial
You get a separate trophy/achievement. Yes, achievements for beating different difficulties aren't cumulative again.
Dante killed Berial where Nero only bullied him though.
Where?
Shocked there's no "Nero confirmed strongest" shitposting still. Guess people realized that he was basically hanging back for a large portion of that day while Dante had already been kicked around severely and still did far more than him, even stalemating against Vergil who should've been in peak form. THEN, he only beats Vergil because he'd just been fighting Dante. He's still weaker, but coming into his own.
A bunch. The whole plot is more-or-less based on it.
Game still has to calculate positions and shit.
>PS4
>21st century CPU
lmao
I like stomping through Human mode last after a DMD run, it's fun.
WHY DID YOU KILL MY CHILD
So will Vergil mode finish the story they started at the end of DMC or just playing existing levels with Vergil?
>get to V's first mission
>absolutely hate it and have trouble getting a feel for the controls
>switch to keyboard halfway through
>start hitting SSS rank with minimal effort
it's like i'm really playing babby's first RTS
I was mad when I found out that Psycho Siren wasn't part of the DMC 1 trucks DLC
Imagine my joy when this started playing
V is the best character in the game (personality-wise) and he got absolutely cucked by the story. Like was that their plan all along? To have one of the main characters basically erased from the game? There had to have been more to him.
Itsuno/etc if you're reading this, make V into his own character, please.
How do I replace Dante's theme with Devils never cry?
I honestly believe at this point he'll get his own mini campaign, along with Trish and Lady. The ending cutscenes hint too strongly at that, and there's no way they're getting their own game.
Nero was always a strong boy when he wanted to be. He did pretty well knocking the child support out of his deadbeat dad
>Achievement for Hell and Hell mode
No thanks
I really enjoyed his snide sneers and his cutscenes, but I can't say he felt like anything more than a mini game compared to the complexity that both Dante and Nero have in this game in terms of gameplay. I think there will be something akin to him again, though.
Shit now I can totally see Mundus eating the fruit and all from Hell, since that’s where the source of the power is at from the tree. That can be enough for Mundus to overpower Dante & Vergil, and hes pissed that they killed Berial. Dante “sacrifices” himself so Vergil can escape and goes to Nero to get him for help.
LITTLE WET SPARKS
>Dante “sacrifices” himself so Vergil can escape and goes to Nero to get him for help.
So this game's plot again?
Did the Vergil fight give anyone else trouble? I had to retry quite a few times to beat it without reviving.
>start button skips cutscenes instead of pausing them
rrrrrreeeeeeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEREEEERRRREEEERRERERREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRREEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEÈEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
What’s that 3million orbs taunt?
The story is better than 4 but that's not saying much, I skip every cutscene except the Dante/Agnus one.
Despite DMC5's story clearly being rushed, it's still the second-best (behind DMC3 obviously) because it has plenty of good moments and Nico/V are entertaining. 1/2/4's stories are pure schlock.
He doesn't even beat Vergil. Just knocks some sense into him.
>Lady and Triss Mini Campaign
>Nero and Nico Mini Campaign, maybe some Nico father resolution with the Order, Nero gets new arms or something cool like that
>Vergil Mini Campaign where it turns out he got fucking date raped and that's why he doesn't remember anything
>Dante and Vergil fighting in hell Mini Campaign
I'll buy it all Itsuno.
Guess what you get for beating Heaven or Hell?
Man that can be fired back by Dante so hard given what he told Dante about his mom.
>Dante: Why my mother?
>Mundus: That useless being? If you need a mother, I can create it as many as you want. Just like, I created Trish.
>Dante: SILENCE!!
Apparently most people which really surprised me because I did it after only a couple tries and no revives
No, it was harder for me than DMC3's Vergil 3 (on Normal). Definitely a big difficulty spike. Which I don't have a problem with, if anything most of the other bosses are too easy.
I wish his gameplay amounted to more than just sitting in a corner of a room and reading poetry while mashing X and Y for 5 minutes at a time.
I will only take the Trish and Lady campaign if Lady and Trish are one character together where you can switch them like weapons for Dante. On their own they are just way too fucking boring.
>Vergil date rape
It was Nell.
Don't worry, he will as long as he's popular enough.
And as long as someone not as shitty as Bingo writes the script.
>4
>depth
Lol
It feels like a big spike in difficulty, so that's no surprise.
Jukebox in the main menu.
I can see some potential and I'm sure there's a tier of hidden depth, but it's more of a gimmick than anything from what I can tell now. That may change, but the ease with which he gets SSS tells me that they kind of expected you to just mash like that. Maybe there's more to the use of the cat than I get, but his movements seem delayed and stiff unlike using a character. Also bird use cancelling your charge is stupid.
Not him, but Dante got knocked out during the fight. I can totally see Dante getting Angelo’d this time, with Vergil swallowing his pride and getting help from Nero. It leads to a father/son game that Capcom has always wanted, while also showing that Vergil has learned from his time as V
Vergil looks a bit weird from the front, not bad at all though. His side face is perfect though. Trish is the only character in the game that looks bad, even Eva somehow looks way better even though it's the same model.
I noticed that too. Vergil didn't bother me in the slightest, but holy shit Trish looks terrible.
I autismed trying to royal guard most attacks but because of how that depletes DT I would fuck myself over a lot and gave in to reviving. It’s pretty tough
And that’s why I miss that fucker. He was just so god damn cold hearted, but not in a try hard way. He just had that much of a god complex that he didn’t understand, nor want to, learn about human emotions and attachments.
The story of the sons of Sparda is over. Which means no more Borgil or Dontey as main characters in a mainline game ever again.
thank fuck for that, it was getting embarrassing watching these 45 year old fuckers being so childish.
no there's also _nico
>Mission 19
>RG all this dumb nigger's moves
>Taunt him constantly
>mfw 'You mock me?'
this game is so fucking gay
Jesus
I would love for Dante and Vergil to take a backseat, sort of the wacky uncles role in the next game.
MY POWER
Really?
Use Trickster and play safe, don't try to trade hits.
I had to use a gold orb because I wildly underestimated how much damage DT Vergil could do to DT Dante, but if you've upgraded Trickster you can just dodge around and get in a few swings when it's safe.
R.I.P. fatto catto
I'd love a boss fight with them on lawn chairs in the background,
>You can't block that parry
>Are you even MOTIVATED?
>Weak combo kid
And at then end they almost get up to help but then you end up doing it without them and they look slightly proud.
>mfw that whole fucking ending sequence from Dante vs Fruity Urizen to Dante vs Vergil cutscene at the credits
>mfw that Dante vs Vergil boss fight
>mfw that motherfucking Nero vs Vergil boss fight
>mfw Sin DT
>mfw Nero DT
Game of the decade.
>Acknowledge me
>Your existence, or your strength?
>Both you fucking asshole
kek'd, Vergil's such a mean dad
>Phantom wasn't even a blip on Vergil's rader
KEK now this I need to see happen.
Did Vegil even have a normal DT or did he use Sin DT the entire time?
>the voices for the style meter are Dante & Vergil
>Dante voices the classic D-SSS
>Vergil’s style rank is from bored to motivated
I think you're full of shit. I've never beaten any DMC on DMD before and I got Vergil mission 19 down in 30 minutes.
There's nothing here that needs patching, you just need to get better.
>after neros dt
>his fucking voice deepens slightly
Too many good moments to list, but I think Vergil's smirk at Dante is top 3
>tfw you buster grab Vergil's jet rush attack in mission 20
FUCK YOU
After you get Dr. Faust I felt the first time what people mean when they talk about "crazy" when they talk about DMC. The game got so ridiculously fun with just that one weapon.
I really liked the story in 5 and I think it's the 2nd best one in the series coming very close to DMC3
Sin the entire time it looks like.
Makes me wonder whether he'll even get normal one for his playable appearance.
>Don't say it!
>JACKPOT!
mfw
Mundus and Phantom got shafted.
I think people have strong nostalgia for 3 and have sank so many hours into it that it's difficult to think of it being topped. I do believe that 5 did so, though, but time will tell.
Ever heard of royal guard nigger? Judgement cut? Block. Rapid slash? Block and punish. Summoned swords? Just RG and get easy DT/RG segments.
That's probably my #1, jackpot was my #1 in DMC3 as it was. Dante being a cheeky bastard and reminding Vergil that he used to be able to have fun is great.
We should get the option to use Dante's sin appearance as his normal DT. I don't like the normal one at all and it feels like shit only being able to use it in his cheat mode sin DT.
MUNDUSFAGS BLOWN THE FUCK OUT BY BASED VERGIL
When did they say it? I waited for them to say jackpot but it never came.
>mfw Devil Sword Dante
I don't see how 3 is better in any gameplay way, Dante is way more limited and there is no Nero or V
>Dante and Vergil are confirmed to be britbongs
no?
V is only so good because he's Vergil.
All of the most emotional moments come from him being Vergil
>I only wanted to be protected and loved
so what was crewcut's secret? also how do I get the second kalina ann
>or V
I think 5's got 3 topped in terms of gameplay (which is the important thing) but story-wise it doesn't hold a candle to it.
Redgrav3 looks like it's in the UK and their childhood home was there.
>mfw you didn't kill enough demons in the end credits
time 2 git gud
post-credit scene
dante and vergil tired out after having more fights against each other for shits and giggles, demons show up and they go right back into perfectly synchronised team fighting. Dante says it as the final line
Is that not what it is?
Until 5 has BP and playable Vergil, then it’s tied with 3. Once it had both, 5 surpasses it
Find in a level, the crumbling ruins level with Dante where he says he likes his cities lively
M11, when you've destroyed all the roots go to the little hall where you could activate the secret mission earlier and look around for an opening.
I need to sit on 5 for a bit and replay. Because of 3 it's hard to just go out and say "the story here is easily better" and make up your mind on the spot.
I thought it was great though and right now I'm thinking just a bit worse than 3's story.
I actually disagree with that one too. I love 3's story, it cemented DMC as my favorite series, but the hints and backstory we get in game and not outside novels or comics from this one is great. Vergil got an absolute ton of characterization in this game through V. It's pretty awesome, really.
Are there any weapons, secret moves etc that you don't automatically get?
but everyone has american accents
You might have to install it in my add ons, I had the same issue where the breakers installed right away but I had to manually do everything else.
>combo autists on twitter already doing crazy shit with Sword Formations DSD
5 ties everything up nicely and I was really satisfied with how it ended, maybe after I play some more I'll like it more than 3 but at the moment it's a (very) close second
Jesus fucking christ 5 made me love Dante again.
I love DMC3, I love Dante's gameplay, but I really do not like how Dante feels to play in 4, but 5, fuckkkkkk meeee what the fuck did these magicians do to make Dante feel so fucking good.
It's obviously going to be insane for combo potential, but the changed control scheme and how it manipulates Swordmaster makes it not as fun for me. I just use Sparda.
5 years of dev time can do that.
Honestly, considering how soft Vergil talks during that entire fight, I feel like he's honestly trying his best to bond with Nero in his own way and just can't figure it out. It's worth noting that if you somehow die to him, instead of just coldly rubbing it in like he does as Dante, he just tearfully calls you a fool.
Oh I can completely understand why Lady would tell him that. She'd know better than anyone how much killing your pop can fuck with your head. And I think Dante feels the whole thing is his mess that he failed to clean up twice, so he doesn't want Nero doing it.
No idea what's up with Trish or Nico though.
I can't stand Dante in 4, I've tried since launch to get into playing him but he's stiff as a board to me. 5? He's hands down the most fun he's ever been. It's like playing 3's Dante covered in butter he's so smooth.
RIP Bird
>they were his friends from the nelo angelo days
>Endless punches on Balrog
>Weaving left and right to dodge attacks
Holy shit I love Balrog so much.
It's the exact opposite, all the non-Vergil stuff is what makes him good. The book reading, his summons, his way of speaking, his contrast with Dante/Nero, etc. Now in hindsight you could say all of those things are "part of Vergil" but he could have just as easily been his own person and players wouldn't immediately make the Vergil association (besides calling himself "V").
They basically refined him to a mirror sheen.
My only complaint is that I don't like that Devil Sword Dante totally replaces the Swordmaster moves and pushes them into his basic kit (though thankfully you can use Rebellion and Sparda in the post-game). Also Sin Devil Trigger is a bit too mindless (but you could say that about 1's trigger and 2's Majin).
Does anyone have a picture of EX Color V, or know how to get it?
SDT should have been a story mode fight only with the same moveset and just Dante looking different. It's not a good mechanic and the gameplay in the mode is braindead
"Devil May Cr- FUCK"
How? Vergil is fair. More like Mission 20 is too easy.
Keep playing. It unlocks after beating enough missions.
>If I beat Nero, that counts as beating you right?
this game was the fucking best holy shit DMC is redeemed
Characterisation is nice but doesn't make up for the fact there was still hardly any weight to it. In 3 the rivalry was there to enhance them clashing over opposing beliefs ultimately ending in a fight to the death, in 5 it's just a continued rivalry for the sake of rivalry, the entire ideological difference (which was already settled in 3) just disappears when Nero shows up and calls them both retards.
He probably will. In the art section he has a DT1(normal DT) along with a DT2(SIN) just like Dante.
>beat Vergil
>fucking teleports behind you and backstabs you right before the cutscene plays
bastard
He is so insanely fluid while keeping the insanity that is free style switching, incredible balance between all weapons and moves.
I disagree.
All of the major character development moments for V are a direct consequence of him being Vergil.
It’s what he does.
But now the difference is between Nero and Vergil.
They aren't going to top DMC3 Vergil vs Dante dynamic by rehashing it in 5, so after Urizen's defeat it becomes a more basic sibling rivalry, but because of Nero something new is created in the place of that.
ayyy, nice
The only thing that really brings down the game is the way the story is structured. Too many jumps a few days back, a few week back, a few weeks to the present, swap characters during the same time period, a few weeks back to when X met Y, back to the present, WAY back to when V met Dante, a few days later, a few weeks later, the present etc
God damn why couldn't it be straight forward?
That's the thing, I don't really care about the character development. He was more interesting before the game made it obvious he was just a means to an end for Vergil.
I figured Trish and Nico just didn't want him rushing in and getting himself killed.
I just use Sin DT to end bosses with
>Judgement
Holy fuck that attack.
I must have died close to ten times before I finally managed to beat him, whereas the most I'd ever died before was like two times on the bird demon boss w/ Nero. I fucking loved every second of that fight, finally managing to beat him without using any revives was one of the most satisfying things ever.
I'm loving the game so far, just beat the knights boss. But what's up with the gadget girl? It always looks like she's got 50 emotions all going on at the same time with her face. Don't get me wrong I like her attitude and she's smoking hot, but what the fuck is wrong girl!?
I'm gonna miss big Burdu
>I don't really care about the character development
Flashback exposition is truly a cancer
Luckily the overarching narrative isn't a major selling point of DMC
I died a million times on it because I wanted to beat him by royal guarding all his shit and it took me forever to learn all his moves and the timing but once I actually did I felt like a god.
hitting him with a full royal release for like half his HP was the best shit
have you seen her father?
>Legendary Donguri streaming DMC5 on his channel
how did you exploit Vergil's openings? I just launched him and hit him with DSD air moves and swordmaster summoned swords until he broke free
Yeah. Best fight in the game.
I had more trouble with Devil Hunter mission 19 Vergil than I had with Vergil on Very hard in 3.
I'm confused, who was her father supposed to be? She said Nero killed him.
I felt the game ended super abruptly but I'm just glad Dante and Vergil could finally be brothers instead of enemies.
i became autistic and learned the timing to RG every one of his attacks and just kept RGing and releasing
yeah I thought there was going to be a final mission of actually killing the tree
>the underworld ends up being boomer territory
based
And that something new is far weaker than the clash in 3. What was the payoff supposed to be other than just rehashing the Vergil vs Dante dynamic? Nero finds out he has a family and doesn't want to lose it, so he stops them from killing each other only for them to disappear into hell and he loses them anyway. There's no core theme or ideological dispute that gets resolved here, Nero just tells them to stop being retards and they disappear to do what they've always done leaving him completely behind once again.
No, dante did.
Her dad is THIS dude
Does he do VOD's?
I considered she meant him but she said she got all of her looks from her father and she doesn't really look anything like him.
Launch him with DSD, use sword formations and sometimes Coyote and also Air Trick
Sometimes:
>Launch with DSD but stay on the ground
>Sword Formation launch to get him higher
>Air-trick
>Fuck him up
A story like this doesn't absolutely need resolution and ends tied up. You're missing a ton of nuance, too. He was called dead weight in both 4 and 5, and finally Dante trusts that he can't handle himself and takes off to take care of his brother, something Vergil has always needed. Nero has come into his own and is finally someone they can respect, not just some kid trying to prove himself. Characters matter FAR more than a plot, and DMC5 is the best characterization the series has gotten to date.
go to bed Tameem
Is there a way to disable the deluxe breakers from showing up in missions?
Same lips and similar hair style.
spoil me on how to reliably toggle lock on between enemies
>There's a special moving background for the menu when you beat the game
>It's Dante and Vergil having small talk and actually enjoying each other's presence
Hit me harder than the entire fucking game, jesus christ
>Vergil erected a fucking demon spire in a town, killing hundreds if not thousands of people due to incredibly petty reasons is completely ignored.
For the second time even
What is the goal of Vergil? Why the hell does he want to FIGHT DANTE? There is no fucking sense
>Why the hell does he want to FIGHT DANTE?
Did you not play the game?
More power, because he lost last time.
>Legendary Donguri
literally who?
How do I dodge in the air as Nero? I keep getting whacked.
because Vergil as a whole still actively denies his humanity, V just gave that side of him a chance to let it out knowing that the real him wants something else
>Royal fork has 360 input
Help
You are braindead, but I will spell it out for you. Vergil feels abandoned by his family, he feels like Dante was picked as the favorite and that the only thing that could make up for that is to become something "greater", which in his eyes is absolute power. The need for power comes from the inability to protect his mother, which is mirrored in Nero having lost Credo, and his own misinterpretation of events is very similar to Vergil's.
DON'T YOU DARE SAY IT
that was Vergil Demonio Completo, not Vergil Humano lleno Débil
>air-taunt
>gerbera
>side air-hike when locked on
uh if V is supposed to be the human half to Ergil why does he look so different?
JACKUPOTO
He is massively insecure and emotionally unstable. His human side is a tattooed weaboo that recites poetry in normal conversations and teleports behind enemies with a crane sword. His devil side is just some demon wanting more power.
It's actually funny that people theorized that Vegil wanted more power in 3 to protect Nero and his mother, when he literally just wanted more power.
Nico admittedly had a rather strained relationship with her own dad, then Agnus just up and disappeared one day and she found out he's dead.
Trish's dad is technically Mundus and while she hasn't actually murdered him she'd given it her best attempt with Dante.
Everyone in that van has massive family issues.
post yfw he said it
Yeah, he needs power, he got it. But why does he want to defeat Dante?
silver bullet is good prove me wrong
So, here's an extremely pressing question.
If Sparda and Dante get their own swords that share their name. What would Demon Sword Vergil be like? Will we get to see it in the playable Vergil DLC?
Because Dante wears red and he wears blue.
How the fuck do you get the second Kalina Ann
>get my ass handed to me 4 times
>flashbacks from DMD Vergil
> notagain.mp3
>get motivated enough and beat him
>well, that was worth 11 years
>suddenly remember that I'm playing in fucking Devil Hunter mode
I'm hyped for DMD
This games story feels like it is DMC6 and we missed an entire game of what the fuck Nero's been up to between 4 and now.
Vergil can't accept defeat because losing means you aren't powerful
The funniest part is that he didn’t even know Nero was his son, and that he doesn’t remember having sex.
No game in the series has had turbo at launch you dope.
So he just stayed as 15 y o mentally. Villain of the decade.
3's entire plot was about characterisation, don't pretend otherwise. It was about Dante and Vergil's opposing beliefs and Dante's growth into a man capable of inheriting the legacy of their father. Nero being called weak and unlocking a shonen powerup then no longer being called weak isn't nuanced and isn't even close to being as characterful as that.
Beating Dante means becoming something greater
He remembers having sex, he just didn't think he had a kid. He probably assumed Nero was Dante's kid.
FUCK YOU
The bird dying was the saddest part in the game. Prove me wrong.
like father like daughter
Classic DMC, never give dates or past to have more space for next games
So did Vergil become more human that before or what? I didn't fucking get the character. Has V's character arc gone in vain?
Give Trish Alastor and Nevan while you're at it.
Throw in both Nightmare Beta and Nightmare Gamma so she can dual wield them.
>everyone insulted him the entire game
and treated him like shit
Feels bad man.
When you first use Nero’s DT in the final mission he says ‘Fuck you’ to Vergil and gives him the finger as the transformation starts.
He's an asshole.
If Vergil was able to say "thanks" to someone unironically, I think he's become more human.
I teared up the most at the conversation between Nero and Kyrie on the phone.
You will NEVER EVER have someone in your life that believes in you like that.
Air hike, air taunt, calibur. Gerbara too but I wouldn't recommend that as you'd be liable to gain a reliance on it.
>You can grab Vergil when he flies around as Nero
I didn't even realize that's what the alternate color was.
So if DMC6 actually comes about, do you think Dante and Vergil will completely sit it out due to the fact that them bro-ing it up in Hell for so long pretty much ensures they become actually unstoppable forces if they were to come into the equation of a new thread?
it's fucked
takes too long, you need to hold the analog
What is it?! What is it?!
And he still wanted to kill Dante. Can someone explain
From the cameo system, if another player gave you a stylish rating then you get the thumbs up to show that other people acknowledge your style as well.
Don't move.
I understood that V was kinda made so we can see Vergil do things that Vergil cannot without breaking character
A. They sit it out
B. They get a massive debuff in story
C. The new threat is just that strong
yes? it has the most depth in the series.
At best, they'll show up in the last few missions
At worst, they're already back by the time the game begins
explain this
Pretty sure they're out of the series if there is a dmc6, maybe as DLC
I literally gave everyone thumbs ups despite having seeing cameos only twice in the game. What was weird that I saw cameos appearing in the last V stage, where the fuck were those cameos supposed to be?
>There's only one mission in the game where all 3 hunters fight at the same time
Bloody Palace better have a multiplayer option or I swear to the queen
explain what ? why didn't he turn sin DT in dmc3 too ?
Don't forget Dante looking like Nico's uncle.
This happens all the time for him.
>Hello, Devil May Cry
Depends on whether the Vergil dlc will finish their story or not.
I honestly don't even need another DMC if they finish off the Vegil campaign with a Dante bossfight.
DMC 3 Dante vs Vergil or DMCV Dante vs Vergil
Which fight is better?
There will be Dante and Vergil DLC for this game before that.
No Sparda
Is the multiplayer live or ghost data? I keep trying to taunt people but nobody reacts.
the plot will be that demons start migrating out of hell because the two of them are causing too much destruction and chaos down there
Didn’t a part of Alastor go through his throat?
definitely live. I played on it with my friend and I got matched with a rando and we kept taunting each other
Think it's Ghost data, I got myself as all three characters in Dante's Cerberus mission
It's live, I managed to get a taunt competition on Mission 13 with a random Nero and V
DMC3 Vergil 2 is the best. All other opinions are incorrect and the holders of those opinions should feel remorse for their foolishness.
is this the EX taunt?
>finally make it back to the human world
>some punk kid has yamato
>w/e, dante probably gave it to him, take that shit back
>having a showdown with dante, kid shows up again
>what a loudmouth lil asshole, he must be dante's
How do I find the fun people.
:^)
nah, he's held back by the fact that he doesn't DT.
Hard to say without having played DMC5 DMD. I'm thinking probably DMC3 but man, fighting Vergil with Essentialy DMC4 all styles Dante (but even more complex) is something else.
Explain why V didn't come out when Nero stabs Vergil with Yamato in the final battle
Probably something about intents and shit
Doubt it, when naked Lady is covered in blue goop her tits are completely smooth. Some 3D modeller at Capcom might have worked on them ‘off the books’ for Itsuno though, if you catch my drift.
Yes he does
you like how gay it is.
>Dante says "Not in a million years" during the Vergil fight
V's time with the gang and then fusing back into vergil allowed him to finally experience time with other people without the pressure of his autistic obsession with power, and taught him to cool his fucking heels a bit
>What would Demon Sword Vergil
a realy long katana thats on fire?
Man I can't wrap my head around Dante, I get a lot of SSS ranks but I still don't get very high style numbers in the end. Any tips on someone who's always been shit with him? What button config do you use? I barely even use the bike because the other weapons are too much already, same for the lightning staff thing.
After playing all I have to say is , Bayonetta 3 doesn't have to go far to top this, outside of graphical quality and hype as fuck trailers/ coreography.
>that look she gives you when she has something new for you
post your face when pic related actually happened for real
Not sure what you're talking about?
He DTs and swaps between Beowulf and Yamato.
I think Vergil 3 had some sort of DT even further beyond.
Can you RG that?
>dancing for orbs
what a slut
I got one where Vergil and Nero are sitting at a table together and Vergil is sitting like pic related. Cracked me the fuck up.
Lightsaber katana.
Post your favorite moments
>Nero Dt
>MJ Dance
>Devil trigger remix in the final mission
>JACKPOT
>V's Origins
You have to play through a couple missions before Nico makes them available. They should still show up on the ground in certain places beforehand though.
If the Rebellion is supposed to be the opposite of the Yamato which allowed Dante to awaken his Majin form then how the hell does Vergil also get Majin form?
>V's Origins
We Kingdom Hearts now
>File too large max: 3 MB

Figured it required a mental acceptance as well, Dante feared his demonic side, DMC5 is the first time he fully embraced it to protect his loved ones.
But he immediately went back to "Dante if only own lives were switched, I need to fight you, beating Nero means beating you, let's go to hell so I can spend forever trying to beat you"
No Sparda, DSD is the fusion of both swords
Vergil chanted some magical demon mumbo jumbo so he wouldn't just seppuku himself when V was born
The fruit.
Post >yfw
>Nero:FUCK YOU!
>get Nero's buster arm breaker
>haha it's like i'm really playing DMC4
>mfw he grabs a demon and fucking executes it with blue rose
The missions that take place during his? There's even a part where V says "they're safe" in an area where he can't get to the middle of. You can here Dante/Nero fighting demons there
Nero’s arm.
Nice.
I wonder if Sparda thought Vergil would be the first one to have kids.
Why did Griffon and other Vergil's demons attack Dante?
he does? it's been a while I thought only Vergil 3 had a DT. Maybe V3 just used his DT more
>let's go to hell so I can spend forever trying to beat you
They're just fighting for fun and to pass time in hell. I mean, according to the dialogue he has beaten Dante since getting there, but they're even.
Apparently he actually wasn't.
He was just quoting more Blake Poetry.
I mean he cooled it a bit on his general power obsession
he's still a petty bitch and wants to prove he's the stronger brother. At least in the post-credits scene it seems he doesn't want to actually kill dante any more
>You will submit... father.
they literally explain why
>tfw trying out every buster and devil triggered buster on enemies
Holy shit Nero is fucking brutal
he got some pieces of the yamato on him when he punched the sword and it exploded
>The "LADY WAS HERE" graffiti
kek'd
The fact that his DT attacks aren't even boosted by phantom sword swings but his ghost hands brutally clawing at everything just highlights how absolutely savage he can get.
>the Rebellion is supposed to be the opposite of the Yamato
Says who?
YOU LISTEN DEAD WEIGHT
>Dante's style is flamboyant over the top moves coupled with his laid back attitude
>Vergil's style is absolute precision and MOTIVATION
>Nero's style is rage and pure fucking brute force
Defeating Dante represents something much higher to him. Even his humanity is tied into it
Nero has watched too much wrestling. He piledrives and suplexes and armbars. He's fucking dimes.
End-game bonus characters. The plot will be V showing up at Nero's house with no memory of why he exists again.
Yamato separates human from demon, Rebellion brings them together.
This is because Yamato stands for tradition, which would dictate that the human and demon world cannot coexist and humans and demons will always be enemies which is why Vergil could never accept his human side, while Sparda's rebellion and love for Eva showed that human and demon can join together into something greater than they are individually, which is why Dante was able to reconcile both parts of himself.
A full power dt royal guard punch does like a quarter of his health homie
I S-ranked him just by autistically learning the timings to RG all his moves but it took me a while.
post yfw when
youtube.com
That's actually pretty kino and makes a lot of sense. Yamato also represents death.
Yeah. I think Nero was pretty abrupt and I would've liked the last mission of Dante and Vergil fighting off the roots against some kind of boss. That moment with Nero felt really forced in tbqh and the lack of buildup exposes it.
>Sparda wields Yamato during his edgy years
>Begins wielding Sparda Sword when he wakes up to justice
>Seals power away and uses Rebellion for the rest of his life to represent his change in attitude
Nice.
what's the song that plays when you're fighting vergil as nero after you DT?
But how did Sparda know how Dante and Vergil would end up and give them swords accordingly?
You can search it up and it'll pop up easily. The one with lyrics is harder to find though, so here you go.
But what about Luce and Ombra?
Forgot it, fuck.
>youtube.com
>there are still people that think 2 comes after 4 even though it tell you in the HoDMC that 2 comes before
How are people this braindead
I'm confused on how yamato works. it's supposed to cut dimension so how did yamato seperate vergil's demonic and human sides?
Luce and Ombra was made long after Sparda's Rebellion
It's all gone according to plan.
They were never Sparda's to begin with, they have the Tony Redgrave inscription on them.
It cut the dimensions between them obviously
This is all assumption here, but he probably thought that Vergil was the more mature of the two and thus entrusted him with the responsibility more dangerous and powerful sword.
Vergil asks that exact question to himself in the cutscene before Mission 18, and even went as far as to ask "if I was given Rebellion, would I be like how Dante is now?"
It probably has some hidden abilities. That's one of them. Sparda probably used it to seal his power behind the Temen nigru along with the Underworld.
why did nero go from edgy silent lone wolf teenager to extrovert shit talker ego tripper?
What's the best way to deal with furys? I was getting S ranks on son of sparda, up until dantes stretch and I'm getting my ass cleaved
Then what if Sparda went by Tony Redgrave a one point?
They described DMC5 as the ‘end of the Sons of Sparda’ story arc, so I imagine they won’t be in it or if they are they’ll just be cameos or boss fights or something. 100% they’ll be playable in DLC and Special Editions from now until the end of time, but the base games are gonna have Nero as the lead and obviously new characters alongside him. Maybe some returning characters like Trish and Lady maybe Lucia.
he's much cuter now!
I thought he meant if Eva had found and hid him instead of Dante.
He got puss.
>He didnt fight DMC3 vergil
he is harder than this Vergil by far.
getting laid makes people more upbeat
It's always had "seperation" powers. What that means works for whatever matters for the plot, but do remember he can warp between dimensions, AND Sparda used it to seal the Te-Mi-Ni-Gru.
Because he grew up
It also has the Art Warks inscription on them. They're not his.
DmC influence. He was a bit of a shittalker in 4 and was prone to rile people up but this felt like overkill.
O N E
A L T
C O S T U M E
U N L O C K A B L E
I N G A M E
and its the fucking super one. thats it? they really couldn't do anything else?
I think he meant if he was in the closet and Dante was outside
Though did the novel talk about what he went through that day? The DMC3 manga has him getting stabbed by Yamato, DT and escape
I believe that was more him wondering if Eva had saved him before her death instead of Dante.
Play the harder difficulties.
>it covers the orb
holy shit i never tried it on nightmare LMAO
it's what happens when you turn into a Chad
He got his waifu.
He was pretty cheeky during the early parts of 4, it just got overshadowed by
>KYRIEEEEEEE
Based
He was always a shit-talker and he is still very much a lone wolf. Half the time he's basically saying "fuck these niggers, I'm going to kill the demon king by myself". He alwso very closely tows the line of becoming like Vergil as he occasionally comments on how he needs more power (he literally says the exact line even) but is kept in check by the fact he has Kyrie and friends.
hows that grind going lads
Wow I was 100% convinced that V was Mundus' half human child and that Mundus was controlling Virgil again so he could be blameless but boy was this dumb.
why did he have to die bros
I'm assuming the answer will be no, but do subsequent playthroughs add any story content and there's some sort of secret ending? Because holy fucking shit, the story was really fucking bad, easily worse than 4 even.
It's like they just wanted to cram lots of characters and references for maximum fanservice without giving anyone any proper arcs. Trish and Lady have it the worst and the story wouldn't have changed shit if they were completely absent from the game. In general it's fantastic how much gameplay stuff there is but the length of the campaign simply doesn't allow for any character development with so big cast. This issue extends to gameplay as well with the game throwing so many new toys at you in one go without giving you time to get used to any of the new mechanics, shit like Cerberus being unlocked just before a boss-only level or Nero getting his DT in the final fucking boss. THE FINAL BOSS HAS A FUCKING MID-GAME TUTORIAL PROMPT. Also Vergil's both battle musics were complete ass, like I'm genuinely mad.
I mean I can see myself playing the game further regardless because the new combat improvements and variety are SSS-tier solid, but the game could've really benefited from a much longer campaign OR stuffing all fanservice in a fridge to give at least the main character Nero some sort of an arc rather than his daddy issues and power of friendship DT awakening IN THE FINAL FUCKING LEVEL.
Technically the only thing Vergil himself did was rip off Nero's arm.
He was always a shittalker
>I burn easily, never tan
>t-t-t-t-talk
He didn't want to steal Nero's spotlight, god bless his DARK CHICKEN SOUL WITH LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT
True but it subverted my expectations of vergil getting killed again.
How do I change NPC costumes?
How do you guys play Dante? Do you fill up all four gun and sword slots or do you just take a few things?
>side characters are side characters
>critical story beats happen at important points
>weapons and unlocks for replay value
Woah, crazy.
Porn when?
>, Vergil erected a fucking demon spire in a town, killing hundreds if not thousands of people
their fault for being weak
honestly i think its the best, it just felt so complete and it was a smart way they could write off dante and vergil, there having too much fun in hell to care
The main plot was over after Urizen's defeat, that was the climax. Everything else was the falling action.
Will Virgil ever be a good dad?
>Vergil erected a fucking demon spire in a town, killing hundreds if not thousands of people due to incredibly petty reasons is completely ignored.
Urizen did tat though.
Are the power levels now Sin DT Dante = Sin DT Vergil >> DT Nero > Trish > Nero > Lady
Now with DT Nero still somewhat weaker than his uncles but at least string enough to make them take a fight seriously (maybe 30-40% ish weaker). He can hang with them and keep them interested, maybe even get a good knockdown in here and there, but he ain't killing them anytime soon compared to Dante toying with him in DMC4.
oh boy oh boy oh boy
I think it's a lost potential but it worked well in the execution. It'd what happens after with Vergil and Nero that feels half baked. V felt fully realized to me.
>tfw the whole ending

No motherfucker, this is not even slightly okay.
Nero's daddy issues have no build-up whatsoever. He gets told the truth just before the final level and then he's suddenly NOOO I WAS SO LONELY ALL ALONG, BETTER CALL KYRIE, AND BTW YOU BROTHERS NEED TO BE BESTIES NOW OK BECAUSE FAMILY.
that requires you to actually be good at rg though
Because for a longass time that was the case, it was only officially revealed to have been changed a few months ago. Give it time and it’ll become common knowledge.
FRU STRA TION
Never really got that. Nero felt abrupt but makes sense. The "Fuck You" felt tacked on and the tutorial in the end felt like the game is telling me the tutorial just finished. Side characters performed well and had their input. Nero's Vergil fight definitelt didn't fit and felt ligthhearted conpared to the situation.
YOU CANNOT KILL ME
>Frogposter is retarded
woah...
Did you forget about his regrets of Credo, his adopted brother, dying? Let's ignore everything then.
IS GETTING BIGGER
Dumbass frogposter
BANG
BANG
BANG
I had such a huge smile on my face at the end.
I'm glad Vergil got his redemption and I'm glad him and Dante can be loving brothers again.
Is there anything else after the Jackpot in Hell? Also has anyone got the 3mil taunts yet?
>Nero's daddy issues have no build-up whatsoever. He gets told the truth just before the final level and then he's suddenly NOOO I WAS SO LONELY ALL ALONG, BETTER CALL KYRIE, AND BTW YOU BROTHERS NEED TO BE BESTIES NOW OK BECAUSE FAMILY.
In 4 Nero's character revolved around Kyrie as just about the only thing he had in the world, and when it was threatened that she would be taken away from him he completely lost it. He was described almost like a pariah to the rest of the Order and Fortuna, with Kyrie and Credo being his only family. It follows completely that after failing to save Credo because he was too weak, and finding out both Dante and Vergil were also his family, he'd do whatever he could to stop them from killing each other.
pure kino
Oh right, the bro who died in 4 whose first mention in the current game also happens to be IN THE FINAL FUCKING LEVEL BECAUSE I WAS SAD ALL ALONG BOOHOO.
PULL MY DEVIL TRIGGER
