>4 years in development indie AA game >open world RPG >you start as a nobody >no questmarkers or player locations, actually explore the world and use landmarks for navigation >survival elements, manage heat, cold, disease, fatigue, hunger and thirst >different biomes each with their own challenges >3 factions to join >quests are timed and progress with or without your input >multiple endings, good and bad depending on how well you do >depending on what enemys are nearby or whether you are close to a town, you may be captured by bandits and forced into work, wake up with your belongings looted or being rescued by friendly villagers, either way you lose time which will affect your ending >souls-like combat system >magic system with in depth rune casting >support for 2 player co-op
where were you when the third person - Kenshi saved RPGs?
looks good but staying cautiously optimistic, dev team stated over and over that a lot of the stuff they wanted to do wasn't possible due to budget we'll see soon I guess
Ethan Thompson
The things I mentioned here are stuff they have been talking about in discord, or stuff that you can see in gameplay streams. Most of the stuff they showed off in the failed kickstarter campaign still made it in, especially around all the metagame stuff
Nicholas Ward
hardly sounds like an RPG at all, even less like one that supposedly saves that which generally does not need that much saving...
Kayden Wilson
So it's just an another generic indie survival game.
Liam Peterson
Really excited despite having only heard of it a month ago. Still trying to decide whether to purchase it on Xbone or PC.
Blake Brown
2$ ching bucks have been deposited into your shill.com account
William Sullivan
>use controller >connect your PC to a tv >enjoy the game at 60 fps from the comfort of your couch
Jaxson Harris
Also >constant autosaving so you can't savescum your way towards a better outcome
It's more of a matter of finding someone to play with. I don't have any friends on PC and I've yet to convince any console friends to buy it. Is the Xbone version really not going to be 60fps?
Connor Rodriguez
>RPG Looks like your typical action-adventure garbage with zero roleplaying depth. I'll stick to actual RPGs, thanks.
the most rpg wet dream game ever created and i 100000000000000% guarantee you have not played it
Jaxon Perry
>comes out three days after Sekiro I'll be praying for it.
Zachary Cruz
game's combat is worse than jacking off with a cheese grater
Owen Bailey
Hey, you’re the Divinity autists aren’t you?
Asher Perez
>m-muh combat!
big feature of true RPGs is the combat right ;)
Jacob Murphy
yes
Ryan Gutierrez
It is objectively a huge part of any RPG, since you spend shitloads of time doing it.
Xavier Bailey
Honestly? Seems pretty comfy. Yes, I know that's vague as hell but some games have it some games don't. Kinda wish it had some NPC followers or something, since it seems kinda lonely if you don't have a gayass friend to RP with, but I have high hopes, since exploration is usually my favorite part of RPGs. Plus, the video shows you can be a spearguy, and I'm all about being a spearguy.
Asher Garcia
>Is the Xbone version really not going to be 60fps? I doubt it highly.
Hunter Mitchell
how many antidepressants are you on friend
Caleb Sanchez
>Kinda wish it had some NPC followers or something Would love a Dragon's Dogma Pawn-style optional companion. All their gameplays seem to put a whole lot of emphasis on teamwork.
Saw some of the trailers. Game honestly looks really really REALLY good and it's the kind of game i've been craving for a long time. Open world RPG that actually wants you to explore and doesn't hold your hand for everything. Kenshi looks good too but as far as I know it's completely open, there aren't any real objectives or story other than what you decide to come up with. Only question I have. Is this coming out on PS4?
Dylan Bell
sounds like a Piranha Bytes game with more brown womyn
>SR Returns >Blackguards >Numale Era >Tranny >Dumpster Fire >Wasted Dollars 2 nice
Charles Stewart
>Blackguards This game is actually good though.
Camden Mitchell
Backpacks look like an interesting feature. Would be nice if they included a pack mule type companion like Dungeon Siege has.
Noah Price
Afaik the game has full character costumization so you can have whatever you want
Daniel Cox
i really couldn't get into it, but that might have been due to my expectations i expected a freeroam RPG, instead it was room clearing on a map with combat that had so little options it might as well have been a JRPG maybe it gets better a few hours in
Michael Gray
Looks pretty cool. I really like the stuffed adventurer backpack look.
>instead it was room clearing on a map with combat that had so little options it might as well have been a JRPG Literally the first spell the mage who joins you in the tutorial has access to creates a magical wall on the battlefield that prevents anyone from passing through. Can't remember a jrpg with that.
The game opens up later, and has a fair bit of optional content.
>full character costumization Assuming you mean customization it looks like the game is going to have preset faces to choose from. Pretty disappointing if that's true. youtu.be/FpX77id35Ak?t=1267
Carson Harris
Really looking forward to this. Expecting a little jank, but so far it all sounds great. Being able to play splitscreen is a huge plus, been looking for something new to play co op since DivOS2.
Another cool thing I read that hasn't been mentioned in the thread, eventually your hero can age and retire and pass on equipment to a new character.
Daniel Walker
Would probably defeat the purpose of the system, desu. Actually I imagine that's probably why there aren't NPC companions, it undermines the whole "you have to think carefully about what you bring with you" idea behind it. If you had access to a pack mule, you could just load em up with the heaviest bag and waltz around bagless yourself.
Camden Ramirez
gameplay looks a little walking simish, but so would breath of the wild if you watched a two hour gameplay video. It's also really giving me kenshi vibes
Will have to wait and see, on paper it's ticking a lot of boxes and it sounds like the devs hate bad save systems as much as I do
Liam Bennett
>60fps on console with splitscreen Doubt
Luke Cooper
That's fair. Gonna kill my inner klepto, though.
Jonathan Green
Why hasn't this game gotten more attention holy fuck. First time i'm hearing about it and it seriously looks like a dream game in nearly every way.
Any word on what the story will be like? What goals are there for me to achieve as a player other than to see all the areas?
James Garcia
Don't think the devs are dropping anything on the story. The game starts with you having to pay debts for your house within a time limit or you lose it, and from there on the possible endings you get will branch out. There are also three factions you can join.
Jace Harris
>can drop backpack before combat to reduce encumbrance fucking A
Gabriel Gutierrez
The only thing I know is that you start out with a debt and if you don’t pay it in time you will actually lose it.
Joseph Thompson
>quest progression with or without my input >souls-like combat system
So, it's slow and cheesy as fuck and i need to rush the game because there is a chance a quest will be completed without me getting a reward?
Ryder Fisher
i just hope crafting ingredients don't weigh a ton nothing kills an open world game faster than having to drop off junk after every excursion
Justin Nelson
>drop backpack while fleeing from enemies >you return to the area and can't find it because the game doesn't hold your hand
You forgot >You can create your own map markers I love that shit
Cameron Roberts
Kenshi is shit. If you have the autism and the patience to shovel your way through all the shit you may find a game somewhere in there, but otherwise its very unfinished and lacks direction. It's a neat idea but the only challenge you face is to figure out how to fuck the game over so it cant fuck you over. Once you are past that point every game becomes comfy and boring.
Lincoln Clark
Sadly this is true and the game offers an unlimited amount of jank
Isaac Cooper
idk, I think you could still balance them fairly well if it followed the same kind of survival shit. Having one would mean you'd need to make sure it's strong and healthy which costs time, money, and resources. Also buying one would probably be a bit expensive too. They would also make it a bit harder to evade some enemy encounters since a pack mule can't exactly sneak
Lincoln Evans
Reread the post you linked, doofus.
Jordan Barnes
I actually like that quite a bit as a starter quest, game sounds great.
>I can't 100% complete everything in one playthrough so that means it's a bad game
Robert Turner
This is going to be more jank than Kingdom Come.
Dominic White
That's not what i said. And what if i cant complete a single playthrough because i take my time to explore and a story quest ends, locking me forever in a world without a endgame? What if i'm not at the right spot at the right time to discover an important quest?
I don't mind the no hand holding but if the game plays out like that it will be more like guessing until you find the right path
Aiden Gutierrez
Whether this means that there is no timer at all inbetween accepting quests or if the game gives you enough breathing room before forcing you into the next path I'm not sure, this is what I found on their discord
>RPG about exploration >on a time counter because fuck you What did they mean by this
Hunter Young
ahem
Grayson Martinez
Sounds like Fallout 1 and 2, RPGs people love. Just because a game has timed quests doesn't mean they'll be so strict you can't do anything else but stuff related to that quest
Brandon Morales
sounds like a dream game, so Im skeptical. splitscreen on pc definitely sold it to me. What i dont understand is what the fuck is up with the marketing in this
Since you're obviously more in the know than I (I don't use discord), do you know if they've said anything about player tethering in coop? How free am I gonna be to wander off and do my own thing?
Thomas Bailey
You have to be in the same region, so you can't be seperated by a loading screen. But generally that might be a huge area
>thats shitty DS ripoff ui Why Also looks like BB game visually and not AA game, about DS2 quality so so ugly you have to take a look at the calendar again.
Landon Anderson
This is a good list, except for Blackguards 2, which feels really out of place with every other game.
Ayden Sanchez
>looks like Dark Souls 2
not bad for a 10 man team on a small budget and areas 4 squarekilometers wide then
Cameron Foster
>Why Because it's more console friendly but I think you can customize it, I remember seeing another type of ui in another video where all of your skills were smaller and all at the bottom with individual keys assigned to them >looks like BB game visually and not AA game I don't think you have any idea what AA means. Game also looks 10x better than DS2 idk what you're smoking.
Elijah Robinson
>survival elements You lost me.
Christopher Reyes
Good news is that it’s not hardcore. You can’t die from being hot or starvation. Just a big penalty.
Brody Barnes
You still fall unconcious as if your HP reached 0, but there is no permadeath.
Wyatt Ramirez
>Game also looks 10x better than DS2 idk what you're smoking. Outward dev plz go
Logan Ramirez
It looks exactly like a modern AA game typically does, idk your problem
Gavin Harris
Yea I know that. It’s the better approach for me honestly since they also push the “no manual save” approach. The defeat scenarios also make you feel like a nobody too. >”A mercenary saved you from dying and brought you back to the city without asking for anything in return. He then left you on the street and went to the tavern to boast about his heroic deed”
Jaxon Hughes
>characters look like shit Sasuga wrpg niggers just throw your work in the trash because if I can't self insert into something cool why fucking bother. Fix your artstyle.
