CAVE STORY 3D FUCKING SUCKS, THE MODELS HAVE A HORRIBLE QUALITY, YOU CAN BARELY SEE THE PLATFORMS AS THEY MESH WITH THE BACKGROUND AND THE ANIMATIONS ARE POWERPOINT TIER. THERE IS NOTHING REDEEMING ABOUT IT. But the combination of backgrounds and music is neat and it makes you feel like it's a real cave, particularly before the core battle, but it still fucking SUCKS.

Apparently that game was completely finished by at least June because Kimsihima (and only Kimishima) is listed as the producer.
Chibi Robo is one of those things where the original game was good, but it didn't need to go beyond that. Just wait a while and port it, or make an improved version. Endless spin-offs/sequels are not needed or wanted for Chibi Robo.
The DS sequel was amazing, too bad it was only in Japan.

Just played the Epic Yarn demo and actually, it's hella good. It feels improved in terms of gameplay.
Then again my reference point is the Dolphin emulated version from 2010, which wasn't the most stable experience.

Game looks pretty good in Citra.
It has obvious texture compression/optimization for the 3DS screen, but I'm hopeful this might get a Switch release down the line with all the added stuff.

There's both an enhanced eShop version of the original Cave Story with widescreen and shit and the original PC version emulated via retroarch if you want to play the translation with soul. There's zero reason to ever play Cave Story 3D.
Yup, Cave Story 3D is some appalling shit. It lacks polish all over.
It's not just visual problems, the actual gameplay feels off. It's probably why they shoved in unskippable health upgrades for a new maximum of 100.
It's not the first Wii game they ported to 3DS either.
The 3DS certainly wasn't hurting for games, and neither is the Switch right now, but Switch definitely would've been a better choice for Extra Epic Yarn.

I tried to get into YW but didn’t enjoy the combat mechanics too much. How good are LBX and FL? I’ve read that they are ok at best.
Not him, YW3 unfucked the boring combat system, a nice comfy game with a lot of stuff to do.
LBX is a spiritual successor to Custom Robo, so you will be collecting parts, weapons and what not, the story is... surprisingly serious but it just makes it ridiculous because they are fucking toy robots after all.
Fantasy life is basically an offline MMO, with a shit metric fuck ton of stuff to do, the DLC further increases the playtime quite a bit too, I'd say that using all lives is the best way to play it but the game will easily go for more than 100 hours if you decide to take that way and another 100 for the DLC.

Google 3dscia, is a dedicated webpage with a lot of cias easy to download so you don't have to bother searching through the 3dsiso forums.
Currently I just check these threads and /hbg/ whenever a new game releases so I can catch the mega as soon as someone posts it.
That one and other that is on spanish called "recoleccion juegos 3ds" are my favorite, they have all the shit I need.
Every cia I have is legit so if an update is ever issued, it will update just fine because the keys and everything match up. Cias converted from .3ds don't do this, even if they're otherwise "fine". Probably sounds trivial but I like the fact that all of my games were generated no differently than the eShop itself would have made them.

if you're on the latest fw, you probably need a compatible r4 flashcart and a magnet, there are other ways but it'll probably cost even more. or if you have a friend with an already hacked 3ds, that might work too

I actually got this from My Nintendo with gold points, but it for some reason will not download on my 3DS. Always gets error code 005-2008.
I'm not banned or anything, I can get most other stuff downloaded from the eShop just fine.

That's an error code I've been getting for a while already, even the Nintendo support webpage didn't give me an actual solution, and it happens whenever I try to redownload games I already owned.

Seems like this might be a side-effect of them cracking down on freeShop, that some games that were seldom downloaded are no longer available.

Why does it matter? they all have the same languages in them. Your 3ds' language setting controls it.

Not all R4 carts will be compatible, chances are you will need to buy a new one.

Autism. Just a pet peeve that I want to have the NA version of a game, unless it's a botched localization like for example with TriForce Heroes. With games like Etrian Odyssey Nexus you also can't share QR codes with different regions, so there's that.
