We all know it is worse than Rayman 2 but, does it have soul?

Japan didn't even get this game, that's how shit it is.

>Still have this game on my XB1 with the original save file from 2011
>Never finished it
You serious?
Carter Hall
Plenty of soul
Logan Peterson
How come people don't like this game? I prefered Rayman 2 (the PS2 version) over it but it was still a blast
Logan Harris
Watch this intro and tell me it doesn't have soul

Juan Hill
I guess mostly because of the hit or miss humor. Stylistically it's great though.
Eli Ortiz
I miss early 2000s edgyness

It's the most soulless of the trilogy.
Christopher Miller
It's far better thna rayman 2 you nostalgiacucks
Nicholas Parker
To be honest I preferred it over Rayman 2. I remember wanting to play the games in order and at a certain point I just got bored with Rayman 2 and went directly to 3. Sure the humor is dated, but gameplay and soundtrackwise it beats 2.
Jaxson Martin
>worse platforming
>focuses on combat which is shallow as fuck and literally has a combo system for no reason
Michael Brown
prove it
Asher Hill
Elijah Robinson
Combat is miles better than it was in 2
Jeremiah Moore
heaps
Joshua Russell
and the platforming and level design is far worse
Jaxson Howard
true,i bought on xbox 360 and when i played it sucked ice i preffer rayman origins with these sexy fairys
Bentley Fisher
combat in Rayman 2 was just there to give it some variety, simple and effective, in 3 is a major part of the game and isn't even good, just strafe and jump, like in Ratchet and Clank but here you are forced to be extremely close to the enemy and you only have one attack
Gabriel Lee
I don't know about the english version, but the french one was perfect.
Ryan Moore
Not the same guy, but nothing was worse than doing these shitty rocket riding sections with the awful camera and controls that were in rayman 2.
Kayden Miller
Osts are far better in 3
Juan Robinson
This
Nathaniel Rivera
It's better than Rayman 2 and it has more soul.
Leo Lopez
it's a good sequel, though I prefer 2 for being more focused on pure platforming.
The running rocket and sliding sections where fun though challenging, more puzzles involving the plums, proper underwater levels unlike 3, which replaced it all with just more combat.
Let's not forget that the game ends with a turret sections, of all things..
Leo Gray
>it's fine when rayman 2 ends with a shitty vejicle section
Jackson Ross
I replayed it last year when it went for free on GWG.
It is a lot shorter than i remember
Noah Long
Yes, it does have soul, but it's a very different type of soul compared to Rayman 2
Jose Jones
the flying rocket? that's still focused on dodging stuff and navigating the environment, Rayman 3 is fine but that turret section was dumb
Josiah Phillips
>but this game has better music
Are Rayman 2 and Rayman 3 rhythm games?
Logan Butler
>music doesn't matter in a game
are you braindead
Connor Campbell
>music makes this game that doesn't know what it wants to be better than this game that focuses on the platforming it wants as the main focus
Blake Lewis
It's a well know fact that the japs have shit taste. It's like you're a newfag, or something.
Adrian Myers
>the PS2 version
Based, Excellent choice.
Nicholas Miller
The world they added with the scarecrow and shit was sooo comfy
Kayden Ramirez
Japan only has shit taste when it fits the narrative
Cameron Mitchell
Japs got all the other Rayman games though
Chase Flores
This is literally the only Rayman game I've ever played and I remember enjoying it except for the shooting sections.
Jace Allen
I loved the game as a child and getting raving rabbids afterwards was such a disappointment, holy shit. I still like to return to it from time to time, if only to relive the nostalgia.

The combat was a lot better, everything else was worse.
It didn't have the same feel of adventure that 2 had, which was the biggest factor in it being considered meh.
Dominic Jackson
They literally don't like Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho. That's all you need to know to ignore all of Japans taste.

Rayman 2 is good and all; but does it have a racist Chinese caricature in it? youtu.be
Chase Murphy
What's the best version of Rayman 2?
Nicholas Kelly
Rayman 1 was all I ever played on the PS1 and I don't think I ever beat it.
Charles Allen
Probably the PS2 version named revolution.
It adds a bunch of shit like an open world instead of a level select screen and some extra levels.

I never even completed it. I should play it again. Had it for the 64

What the fuck
Jeremiah Phillips
It's fairly short and fairly easy, but I recommend it. Either play the PS2 or dreamcast versions. The weakest of the original trilogy, but it has some nice areas and great music. You missed out on the music since the 64 version is all low quality midi. Listen to this comparison.

I really preferred 3, the atmosphere, the colors and so on made it much more memorable to me. I admit I started with the DS version of Rayman 2 so that's probably why I didn't like it, but then I played the PS2 version and got tired of it very quickly. I'll give it another try one day.

This game was BRIMMING with soul. That tower in land of the livid dead is one of the most soulful levels in any platformer.
Logan Cox
It had more soul than 2.
Lucas Scott
I liked the Bog of Murk. One of the comfiest swamp levels I've seen.
Eli Moore
MAKE HIM WRITE BAD CHECKS
Wyatt Cooper
It sure is.
Jordan Miller
It's better than 2 and has soul for sure
Colton James
I seriously need to replay Rayman 2. It's been way too fucking long.
Nolan Clark
I hope that the next game expands on the lore of the Rayman series in the same way that 2 and 3 did. Showing the Knaarens hunting the Teensies as depicted on the cave paintings was cool and there's so much more they can do with Polokus as well. You would think that the deity responsible for shaping the world the way it is would have a larger role in the franchise.
John Adams
>original Rayman

It will likely be a while before Rayman 4. Specially if they want Ancel invovled since he has BG&E2, plus that likely vaporware title with the big titty snake lady.
Jacob Torres
>We all know it is worse than Rayman 2 but, does it have soul?
Unironically is better than rayman 2
Jackson Carter
Which version should i play, faggots?
i have a pc that can emulate anything out there.

Improvements, an overworld in place of a level select screen some extended sequences that make the pirates have more of a presence in the world because of it.

Rayman 3 I like more because of the bad guys. Robo pirates are awesome, but the hoodlums are super cool looking, use rifles, and drop those power cans that let you do awesome moves like the chain swing or tornado punches. The combat was upped a good deal over 2, those grindy fights against the Ninja pirates are nowhere near as fun as a hoodoo sorcerer protecting a squad of hoodblasters.
Kevin Fisher
Why the fuck was this here?
Christopher Perez
There's a huge disconnect between the writing, the environments and the music. It's like the game has soul but the writing does not.
Matthew Gutierrez
I never liked that version, I always prefer the PC port or the 64 version. Shame that the ps1 port was so poopy, because I had that one only for the longest time
