The game was fairly content starved at launch, but the updates fixed most of that, with the replayability added by the Dream Friends and Heroes in Another Dimension sub-game, which basically acts as the main game's actual final world, while originally the actual final world didn't feel like it was challenging enough and the game felt like it still needed that final world.

Marx is my favorite Dream friend and one of my favorite characters in general but Wave 3 had Taranza, Magalor and Susie and you really can't fucking beat that.

Honestly, it was executed in the worst way possible. This early access style for a single/coop player doesn't really work and put off the vast majority of people, including me who didn't even get the game until Wave 3 convinced me.

Early Access has proven to only work in a very limited number of games and mostly serves as a detriment for the vast majority and Kirby was no exception. If they released the full game since day one it would've sold far better.

Wave 2 because Adeleine, Daroach, and the surprise inclusion of Dark Meta Knight are the best, moveset wise and the fun factor of their guest star.
For the Morpho remix, it's a tie between Adeleine, DMK, and Taranza.
Can't say if it was a good idea for them to release the game with not much content, but the fact that HAL managed to put this much effort to bring even more content for free is a-okay in my book.

Why the fuck is kdl3 such a mystery? it's one of the lesser known kirby games (I'm aware that its gameplay isn't the best), little to nothing is known about its development compared to other kirby games and the only major info we have about it is what has been discovered in the rom (mostly unused stuff and regional changes). Also a hidden "Perfect!" screen was discovered in that game's boss rush some months ago and nobody knew about it aside from some japs because you had to press a secret combination to get it.

I'd say one of the big things is that it's gimmick isn't terribly prone to slowing down gameplay.
The Robobot Armor is basically like the animal Friends from Dream Lands 2 and 3.

Remember that the kdl2 japanese manual implies that this dark matter being became sentient and attacked popstar because he felt lonely and was jealous of dream land's lifestyle because nobody wanted to be his friend

Comparing it further to Star Allies, the game features a longer campaign, a tougher Arena-like game, better minigames, etc.

It is very simple. Kirby is a glorified walking simulator with little to no substance to it. The AI is dumb, puzzles are way too simplistic and literally solve themselves for you, bosses are ridiculously weak, there is little to no platforming in a game that's supposed to be a platformer and challenge only exists in the form of a mediocre boss rush mini-game. Kirby isn't a game. Kirby is a movie, no, far worse, it is a walking simulator.

Kirby is way to simplistic, to the point where it damages gameplay, completely getting rid of it, and keeping a walking simulator in it's place. It is okay to like easy games, user, as long as they are games. Because for me, series like Kirby aren't different from Life is Strange or Undertale, at all.

The charaters are fuckably cute. The gameplay is simple yet fun.

Either way a lot of those issues you mentioned seem to be big ones with SA.
Everyone here agrees SA is really fucking easy even for a Kirby game.
Go try Robobot or RtDL as those still have a challenge factor on some parts.
