Fuck detectives. The only problem with current meta is that detectives, despite being optional, appear way too often.
Detective is a fundamentally flawed role for improvs. What happens most of the time is one (or more) of these:
>detective just copy pastes the evidence table in testimony form
>when cross examined, they kill all room for mystery by explaining whose fingerprints/DNA was on every single evidence piece
>even testimony purposefully left ambiguous is "clarified" by detectives, thus killing most contradiction potential that witnesses could hope to explore
or
>filler testimony in which over half of the statements are memes
>when asked serious questions, the detective avoids answering, beats around the bush or says something ambiguous so as to avoid ruining the mystery of the evidence
>as result by the end of the 90 minutes long CE nothing is learned (or nothing that couldn't be in a normal witness testimony) and it just feels like a waste of time
And for fuck's sake I am not saying there have been no good detectives ever.
Just that it is a bad role for our current improv meta. The risk of failure is almost guaranteed. The best you can hope for with a detective is that it will not crash the case and instead will just be a waste of time you will ignore since it was funny or something.
Replace detective with Witness 3. Watch case quality increase tenfold.

The main problems with AAI2 is how it wants to tie every single case together with a big deep narrative with themes up the ass. This is an ambitious idea for sure, but they tried going for way too much.
I disagree with this "sympathetic mastermind" idea. The only kind of sympathetic mastermind I can get behind is Niko from DGS1. This is a problem with most AAI original characters: they are very underdeveloped unless they are major characters in the whole plot (ray, courtney) and NOT exclusively in one case (Kinghtley, Fur coat prison warden who I can't remember the name of). Ironicly in normal AA the in case characters get a lot of time to develop. In AAI(1 and 2) They don't.

Well, as a flashback case, it wouldn't even technically happen if we went by chronological order, though I now realize that it might be a bit of a disappointment to jump past it for the viewer. As for time, I have made sure to set aside enough time for a possible marathon stream, but again, I should probably consider the people watching as well for the possibility that everyone else might not be able to go the full length of a three-case marathon. At the same time though, doing them in case order feels like a copout and against the idea of this thing to begin with.

JFA is pretty bad.

Simon was developed thorough the entirety of AAI2, from start to end. Almost every single character is related to him in some way. The catch is that his character development is not "in your face" like in AA. You need to actually think back to his interactions and relations with the other villains and build his character in your mind, which is a little more effort than what the average player might be willing to spend, admittedly.
If someone actually bothered putting together all flashbacks and dialogue concerning him, I am sure he would have more packed story than Matt, Shelly, Manfred or Diego.

My suggestion is to forget this idea that the viewers must be able to watch the three of them. The real point of this is to pretend it is happening in real time. Everyone who will be watching it already played the game. Strict to the real timeframe as much as possible.

There is a point there. Still, we need to figure out some way of pacing all this nonsense to try and keep the streams from being as long as 3-5 Day 1, where we did that plus both 3-1 and 3-4 in a single stream and it lasted 8 hours. Though even then, doing 3-4 last was probably the right thing to do for pacing and momentum, since 3-1 can be painfully tutorial at times. AAI, though, doesn't come anywhere close to having as much pacing discrepancy as the gap between 3-1 and 3-4, so doing E-1 even after all the rest should be easy to tolerate. Especially since in any case, E-5 will still end up being last, but then that case in itself is a fucking marathon...

...Hmm... So E-3 takes place on March 13th (different day from E-2, thankfully), but E-5 starts on the 14th and goes right on past midnight to the 15th. Especially problematic when E-1 is a midnight case itself, just a day ealier.

So, either we do E-3, 4 and 1 on the same day, or we do E-1 and E-5 on the same day. I'd also suggest splitting E-5 into two streams, but then that'd probably be a huge momentum killer, and the stream audience would be begging us to keep going, even if we chose to make Shih-Na our checkpoint, so I'm not gonna bother with that idea anymore.

This is a serious flaw with the system. Other polls have had ~85% approval and got denied for having less than 25 votes.
They should revamp it to either make it need 25 "yes" votes, which only means nothing would pass, or making it so you need if you have 16 "yes" votes and over 65% approval then it gets in even if it has less than 25 "no" votes since you could easily fill it to 25 with more "no".
