It seems there was no other way to cure his corruption though. The fruit has some strange powers that can do a lot. It’s like the Tree of Might. I think a better way for the cure to happen is if Nero grew back his arm and True DT, which allows the user to pull out weapons out of the demons body or corruption out of the bodies and destroy it.

Sprinting gives you a launch in DMC4, too. But I've found on 5 that it's a little finicky in places for some reason.

How the fuck do I get good as V, Yea Forums? Half the time my cat fucker is halfway across the map behind me attacking a wall and it's almost impossible to get him to reliably hit airborne enemies. I've beaten two bosses as him so far and died to both which is really unusual for me. My DPS is just so low.

Agree completely, everything is great, and the enemy design and story are probably the best they have ever been. V and the devil breakers are a great new addition. Only thing I don't like so far is when Nero's Voice actor says knuckle scrapping when the line is clearly knuckle SCRAPING. Also there is a lot more cringy cussing in this one which I don't remember in previous DMC's but I can live with it.

It was gotten in Before the Nightmare. Dante fought Balrog on Dumary Island, where it destroyed Cerberus before submitting. Balrog was Argosax number 2 and now controls half of hell, while Mundus the other half. Now Mundus has united hell.

the style meter is really only relevant to the low to mid level players
true style breaks the system all together and tricks the game into thinking you're not doing anything impressive when in fact you've transcended

Probably my biggest complaint about the whole series is that you have to rebind everything. Having every major action in the game assigned to the face buttons doesn't work well when you need to be doing everything at once.

As a person who isn't really knowledgeable about DMC I'd really like to buy and get into this game because it seems fun and highly acclaimed on here but I don't really have the will or interest to play through all of the previous games for hours and hours in order to see every single thing so I'd have barely any idea what the fuck is going on. I know the story has always been cheese tier apparently but I'm talking about overall context for shit. Stuff like references, callbacks, fan hype moments, etc. that have been built up for years so I'm guessing I'd be missing out on by jumping straight into 5.

DMC 3 did a lot of things well, but level design was not one of them. The environments and level design were god fucking awful. Easily the worst in the entire series.

Nero has the exact same things plus a bunch of improvments to charge shot, new red queen and devil breakers, Dantes weapons are all improvments and sin devil trigger is better than Yamato and lucifer. Then you add a third playable character to that. But seeing as you're a faggot that bases a rating based on how cute you find the protag and an arbitrary fun score based on nothing your opinion doesn't really matter much

Mega buster does very little damage, so it feels kinda bad to use. Pasta breaker offers great utility, the regular attack rearranges your arm order, while the break attack is fantastic, so it's not really meant for sustained use. I don't get the V hate, he is easy but in general this game feels like each difficulty level was turned down one. I found Dante really easy to get SSS with here as well. V could really do with more shadows though, while playing him I couldn't stop thinking about Demi-fiend and how this combat could make a really good Raidou sequel. I also really like his theme and think it kicks in better than the other ones

The only DMC game with a good level design was DMC1 and only because it was built as a RE game.
DMC3 had tons of annoying rooms and locations, needless backtracking, re-used rooms and the last levels in Hell are genuinely awful aside from visual.

Not needed, there's an efficient farming method that lets you max out everything in less than a hour including the super taunt on Mission 13 with Dante's hat. It has to be someone that wants to max out before their game has even started which isn't appealing to a combo gamer since the starting difficulty isn't where you'd pull that shit off.

DLC chapter I feel will be Dante & Vergil finding Mundus in hell, overpowered by the fruit and either the two of them take on Mundus and win, or they need Nero, and Dante tells Vergil to get out and get Nero. Vergil does so, but Dante loses, and becomes an Angelo. Now it’s Vergils turn to save his brother & bond with Nero in the sequel.

It's good.
I have problems with the enemies. I feel like common enemies like the Empusa to mid sized enemies like the Behemoth are helpless. Giving them a ranged attack would benefit them. Increase their aggressiveness too.
Story feels half baked at the end. Not a lot of buildup for Nero. Dante at least had to fight the 3 summons. I would've prefered to fight both Dante and Vergil instead of just Vergil because Nero is strong and bustering Vergil is broken. The initial Dante vs Vergil fight was unironically harder and way more fun.
Style Meter and Style Rankings are too lenient. They give it out too easily so it takes away some of the satisfaction of acquiring something that would've taken effort.
No lockon switching while moving is a complaint because 3 had it so no reason 5 doesn't have it.
This is some of my personal complaints but Nero swearing for every DT and swearing at the end of the Vergil fight seems really forced. The music also doesn't fit and the ending of Vergil and Dante leaving is abrupt.
I would also prefer Capcom to make their own models instead of face scanning just because of the nature of photorealistic face. 8.5/10. Good game that needs some improvements.

It's just a few words onscreen, there's no cutscene or anything. Urizen says "Is this my limit...?", and then the words onscreen say that this was the best outcome, birth of a legend, etc... Then it ends.

It has nothing to do with being "straight forward", its about being different from Dante

Nero was straightforward, now he has an actual gameplay style that isnt just "simple dante with a timing mechanic". V is a summoner, Nero is a resource character and Dante is versatile. Neros entire gimmick is that the breakers are retardedly strong and give an entire new dimension to his playstyle/ moveset but theyre fragile and if you want a different kit you have to destroy the existing one

The breakers functionality wasnt designed for combowank, it was designed for playing. And even then, even with just one devil breaker (whichever one) he has more combo potential than he did in 4. The only thing you can say is that the aspect of having to build an expendable loadout for X and X combo makes you uncomfortable and that just means you should fucking play another character. Neros biggest "freestyle" aspect is to evolve based on what his kit is and what does it change to on the fly

Nero's skill set is the one with best flow and damage output once you master the triggers for max act. Dante is autistic buttonmashing and style switching.

Nico gives you the Kalina Ann 2 (which is functionally the same as the original) near the end of the game but if you found the original Kalina Ann in Chapter 11 you can equip both at the same time. She specifically added in one extra feature to the Kalina Ann 2 which was to let it link up with the original to shoot laser beams in the event the original was recovered.

What's funny is that Nico made it as a replacement for Lady losing the original, but then tossed it to Dante who already has the original.

The hardest difficulty you can start with is basically "normal" which is what I beat the game in 9 hours with. And I don't think I was rushing either, I did most the secret missions, about 9 or so I found, and killed everything that appeared.

Dante with DSD and Swordmaster is easier than Nero and more powerful to boot even before you get to Sin Trigger.

The other moves just go into his regular moveset, you can even use them without going into sword master

It's literally just "alright" for a DMC game and it might just be the most mediocre game in the series. It's a wet fart in some areas like soundtrack and art design and i wouldn't say it excels at anything. Calling it a 10/10 is ridiculous but expected from this place.

Not only did they purposefully give the real fans a real sequel they then made it the best goddamn iteration in the series and gave it to us FOR FREE. And Dante has a set of independent attacks he can buff his normal moves and styles with that doubles his DPS and harasses foes at mid range.

I had no trouble playing with my 980ti. The CPU will bottleneck you a little bit though. What I'm having trouble with though is my GPU is overheating. General gameplay just gets to 81c though, so that feels pretty normal levels. So I don't know why it suddenly throwing out errors. Urizen is just that intense of a boss I guess.
