Is anyone actually surprised?
Shovelware so bad even Ubisoft would blush
I didn't even follow it after its release. What happened?
Just because they got the metal gear artist guy onboard doesn't mean the game would be good
i'm surprised SE kept funding the game and allowed it to be released
Oh this game is out?
Interesting what are the main complaints? It looked kind of interesting
What was going through his mind while making it?
Debatable, because it at least runs, on console.
"I can't believe Square Enix outsourced it to the company that should've been making a game about actual mechs. These people should've been working on New Gundam Breaker, instead of whoever did"
They wanted people to think they still cared for Front Mission
Everything it attempted to do failed at every level.
>armored core director
AC is shit though
>i'm surprised SE kept funding the game
By the looks of it, they probably spent more money hiring Shinikawa than the game cost to make.
this game intrigues me despite the negative reviews. i'll play it once it's cracked.
5 internet funbux says it becomes a cult classic in a few years
>japanese """"games""""
>i'm surprised SE
Never be surprised by SE
cult classics have flaws, but they also have good things
this game doesnt have any good things
That's almost every game now because despite what Yea Forums claims the industry has standards. Once people get over anti-hype they always come back and
>DEEEERRRRRRRP ITS ACTUALLY NOT AS BAD AS ANGRY POOR 12 YEAR OLDS CLAIMED
Break the conditioning.
"I was set up from the very beginning, they told me to make the game this way, and I will most likely take the blame for my superior's failings. However, instead of fighting the system like my favorite TV drama, I'm going to stand there and take it like the cucked modern japanese man I am."
Oh shit
The AI isn't great but the game can be difficult and it's an actual game unlike the shitty movies everyone makes.
But people will probably forget it existed.
It can still be a cult classic if the narrative is good
Haven't heard anything about it though, gonna assume it's just typical jap "war is cool but bad but also cool" mecha genre drivel
I unironically think that this will happen if a wonder occurs and SE will fix at least some issues a few months later.
The story will still be a godawful attempt to do an edgy war drama, but I can see people liking that cheesy shit.
Why would a guy who worked on Armored Core be a director for not-MGS?
>go from dumb mecha game to stealth game
>what could possibly go wrong
Well you'd at least expect the mecha parts to be good then
The story looks too generic and undeveloped for anyone to care.
Ok remember when games had bad stealth, like 2000s bad?
It is that
let's turn a turn-based RPG game into a stealth MGS clone THAT WILL WORK
If the AI was actually great... The game would be neigh unplayable due to the difficulty. The game already has enemy infantry units everywhere. Excluding the amount of tanks and mechs roaming around...
Only that it plays nothing like AC. And the early AC games had shit controls and gameplay.
It's like a bit faster Mechwarrior but without the micromanagement.
>2000s
>bad stealth
>faster mechwarrior
It doesn't even play like MW.... It's more like a slower armored core without much mobility.
They would obviously balance it around it.
>games had bad stealth, like 2000s bad?
MGSV is a thing
I'm assuming he meant the cheap copycats of MGS and Splinter Cell, shit like Spy Fiction or Vampire Rain.
like evolved
2000s forced stealth level bad
It would become a cult classic if it did something interesting, it doesn't.
Some people like Evolved tho. They at least made a fun cheesy story driven campaign with over the top villains and Michael Bay patriotism.
Also it still had FM dna in it's core, you could customize your mech and the mech gameplay was fun.
AI acts like it's a shooter, stands on place.
They should be randomly searching around when something happens.
>They should be randomly searching around when something happens
They try sometimes, they just struggle to find you because they're fucking retarded
twitch.tv
this guy apparently likes it
there was a tranny that hated it
square enix continues to cuck its western studios, hoping they'll basically be able to leverage them into the marvel money machine, while letting their japanese divisions pump out unmitigated disasters like this and the quiet man.
why would they think the enemy is approaching was a good idea, did they think they can make it into a meme?
