Tell me, Yea Forums. What is the best arcade shootin' game of all time? Are you more of a House of the Dead guy or maybe Time Crisis? Maybe Aliens?
Tell me, Yea Forums. What is the best arcade shootin' game of all time...
Donpachi
Has there ever been a decent port of the original HOTD? I'm only aware of the (not very good looking) Saturn version and the PC version which I had a demo for...and just seemed to be a port of the Saturn version.
No there hasnt been.
For me, it's Carnevil
Despite using the Unreal Engine I find Time Crisis 5 to be very Time Crisis. Feels right at home.
I think Time Crisis 4 is my favorite. I love it all. Bombastic airport prologue, terror bites, people bridge, Wild Dogs tractor beam, WHAT GOOD IS PARIOTISM, so fucking fun. Also the longest game, clocking around 30 minutes. Time Crisis 5 is barely over half that.
I haven't gotten to play House of the Dead Scarlett Dawn yet.
Favorite House of the Dead is probably the meme pick, 2. Ita ball crushingly hard but you can reliably 1cc with practice. House of the Dead 4 is wacky ass to me, I cant get to grips with it, and shaking the guns kills my wrist.
Time crisis for me, goddamn I loved that game in the arcade, 2 and ,3 are also good. Virtua cop 2 and die hard arcade lightgun edition are close behind.
LA Machineguns.
>Local bowling alley got rid of the MAXIMUM FORCE cabinet
Time Crisis 1+2. I also played a hell of a lot of time crisis at home on Playstation. I would plug a controller into a second port and step on it for the cover mechanic.
had fun with police 911 than any other lightgun game at the time.
i wish they did more with this IP.
incase youve never seen gameplay of this game before.
youtube.com
this shit was ahead of its time.
What was the light gun game where aliums were invading a city? I remember there was a green rapid fire powerup and a scene where someone got abducted off a park bench and turned into an ayy
This muthafckr...I love you.
I liked Ocean Hunter.
Based and oceanpilled
time crisis was based as fuck.

just get a model 2 emulator and play the arcade version on your pc these days
the reason they never made a port after as far as i remember reading was they tossed out the source code. for every single version.
I always wondered if you get a CRT is there any kind of lightgun that works with emulators?
didn't play many arcade shooting things because there weren't really arcades here. house of the dead i remember because reasons.
House of the dead 3. I fucking love the shotgun light gun.
This shit right here, probably spent more time on this machine than skating at the local rink.
youtube.com
Didn't see your post broski.
Patrician taste
I remember renting a Sega CD and this and gaming all night with a bro back when we were 6 or 7
I love you man, it's probably been 15 years since I've last seen it
great game, shame it never got a port of any kind or sequel
was that minigame sequel any good? i only ever got to try it once with a broken gun so i couldn't beat the first level.
I thought the arcade would never sell it but they did. I mean, during summer they'd rent to another arcade here or to one at the beach but when they closed maybe a couple years ago I never saw it again.
Every time I remember this my hearts break a little since i've been playing that shit for almost 20 years, dad would take me there and also would go with friends after class.
>tfw played without knowing that that was the last time and I'd never see this arcade machine ever again
now I'm really sad again
i know that'll happen to time crisis 4 at a local place someday, even though i remember the day it was installed because i saw them putting it together and i was the first player
feel old man
Fuck yeah, love this game.
came here to post this
Die Hard Trilogy had a pretty entertaining lightgun shooter game
Does typing of the dead count?
I'm also partial to Space Gun, namco 90's.
Ghost Recon Alpha. Lupin the third, and Golgo fucking 13, but good luck finding THAT one.
Konami using it's motion sensors for something other than music games for once.
Have you seen the new version? Or the occulus motion ride?
Go and and have a blast playing it, you'll never know when its the last playthrough
>time crisis 1-3
>house of the dead 2 and 3
>ghost squad
>all virtua cops
VIRTUA COP 2
THAT SHIP LEVEL
FUCK
PEOPLE OF THE AMS...
...TIME THEY MADE A MOVE.
just git gud bro
This is nostalgic sure, but compared to even time crisis 1 or hotd 1 its kinda shit
GOLDMEN
Terraburst.
SUFFER LIKE G DID
It had the advantage of being cheap and everywhere.
What good is virtua cop 3, Silent Scop3, or Razing storm if you never get a chance to play it?
Its decent, and youre right that it was in more places, but even as a kid in the mid to late 90s i knew after playing some other lightgun cabinets that area51 just wasnt that good.
wtf is this cover
IS THAT ALL YOU HAVE TO SAY?
>NOT for sale in California
>Initial release date: December 2000
I hate California so god damn much.
It's fucking Ernie and Bert on a shooting rampage.
Saw some dude obliterate HOTD 1 dual wield a few years ago it was sick
>model 2 emulator
Which one? Please. I'd love to play me some CONFIDENTIAL MISSION
__ ______ ___ ____ _____
it's just called model 2 emulator, there's no special name. also confidential mission was naomi, so you won't get to play it on there. still has hotd, virtua cop and more though.
that shit was fun as fuck, shame duel wielding was never a one player option on any arcade units i can think of.
Why couldn't this be sold in California? Do you need a gun license for fake plastic ones there too?
Best fucking game ever
Silent Scope has always been my go to, followed by Time Crisis and dual wielding The House of the Dead.
Hopefully Time Crisis gets a new addition, the new The House of the Dead title is kinda eh, but I like it. Silent Scope Bone Eater is alright as well.
I still get free credits at the arcade I used to work at, feels good
>Point Blank X (2016)
What a misstep.
