I care, had a lot of fun with the game even if the combat is shit.
Not looking forward to it adding more achievements and making me have to 100% it again.
>implying anyone actually gives a fuck about this shitty game
lolno
>a bad guy who fucked over the world out of spite because the gods picked his brother over him
>important
LOL
I tend to wait for all dlc to come out before I buy the game to beat everything in one go.
Usually wait for editions where they just package everything, this results in best experience where I don't have to worry about day one bugs or any other glitches.
Releasing more dlc after they made royal edition was not the best idea, just gonna watch it on youtube.
it WAS going to be the start of a second season pass but that got canned
>game is so bad that even it's DLC gets cancelled
officially the worst in the series objectively.
>FFXV
is FFXV worth playing?
still sad about that. I actually liked XV and the dlc as well.
I want to discuss it but XV-kun makes it impossible to do so. God I fucking hate him
if you can get around the braindead gameplay, its worth 20 bucks or less for the royal edition. Easy 100 hours
Do I get it for free if I bought the season pass and the Royal Pack?
Yes, but only if you can get over the combat, it typically falls on the mediocre/shit side of things. The characters are fairly likable and story is pretty okay. Other people will chime in and share their issues I'm sure, some will probably exaggerate and still be pissed about buying it at release, understandable though.
nope. pay up goyim
Does the season pass get me this or is it yet another piece of shit to nickel and dime me to death?
Maybe this video will help you decide.

This and kingdom hearts 3 make me realise that Square Enix can’t really do real time combat well.
Weird the gameplay and the combat are stagnant? I thought they were copying kingdom hearts live action menu thing?
I guess maybe walking away from the turn based combat was a mistake.
I expected them to shill it, I didn't expect frodo baggins and Jimmy Olsen, to tell me they were convinced throughout. now i'm curious if i can get the game for cheap I#l check it out.
Thanks friends.
Best character as well
>FFXV's story is so bland and forgettable that even Final Fantasy fans with abysmally low standards for storytelling don't care about it
YIKES
>is FFXV worth playing?
>FFXV
>worth "playing"
More like is it worth watching?
I legit liked FFXV but hated the fucking combat. I still don't know why I spent 150 hours into it. Maybe its the only major flaw
I was actually looking forward to that last piece, I thought it would probably add a new final boss and a "true ending" of sorts.
>I thought they were copying kingdom hearts live action menu thing?
nope. Tabata wanted the combat to pander to casuals, which is why the game is so fucking easy.
He's the reason why most of XV's combat is Hold O to win and being able to revive yourself at 0 HP. Hell, Easy Mode automatically revives you without using any of items the game hands out, barring some specific fights but the game lets you know when those fights are
The problem with FFXV's story is that they basically gutted several parts and sold it back over the span of 2 years as DLCs (the Multiplayer DLC has story FOR A SINGLE PLAYER GAME), an anime, and a CGI movie.
double standards in gaming is nothing new. Just look at the reviews for any major Nintendo game.
I'm still mad about Episode Aranea
>The problem with FFXV's story is that they basically gutted several parts and sold it back over the span of 2 years as DLCs (the Multiplayer DLC has story FOR A SINGLE PLAYER GAME), an anime, and a CGI movie.
You don't even have to go that far. The premise itself was idiotic:
>kingdom gets invaded, your father murdered
>you go on a happy go lucky road trip with your bros and have the time of your life
>said bros are complete non-entities whose sole purpose is to be yes-men to noctis, one of them is even a fucking butler
>noctis is the most generic take on the chosen one possible
Not only is this some of the most atrocious writing ever to feature video game writing, but Square thought this shit needed to have a movie and an anime show to flesh it out? What on earth were they thinking?
So do I need PS+ to get the story of Comrades or can I solo it offline?
>>said bros are complete non-entities whose sole purpose is to be yes-men to noctis,
Gladios didn't feel like a "yes man"
from what I understand, you can do all of it offline with bots.
and it's $5 until Monday
Oh hi Cherrypickun!
XV-KUN
XV-KUN
XV-KUUUUUN!!!
I wanted to see the mommy dragoon backstory though
Same, I liked the characters and story enough to play it through and do everything available. I think the combat would be a bit more forgivable if the RPG elements were a bit more expanded on because as is, there isn't much of that here.
>so desperate for jrpg examples they have to post shit liek gravity rush
>blatantly misrepresents the settings depicted (e.g. almost everything on the jrpg side is a sience fantasy setting, ff12 for examples literally has x-wings)
>completely ignoring that medieval fantasy is extremely common in jrpgs between dragon quest, fire emblem, suikoden, tactics ogre, etc.
>Gladio
he's talking about ignis
I care, but they butchered the core concept so bad and delivered somethign so unfinished and monetized essential lore, then canceled the remaining ones and fired tabata... that I can hardly be excited.
This had the potential to be teh best FF without discussion, and they piled one fuckup after the other, sich a shame.
I liked Kingsglaive... and the anime.
Kingsglaive is by far the best thing to come out of this whole mess though. Now, as far as I'm concerned, it was the movie that had a bad tie-in game attached to it, not the other way around.
Did anyone seriously give a fuck about Nyx and his band of chucklefuck traitors? It just doesn't work as a standalone.
>the gods picked his brother over him
We have no confirmation of who was chosen, but it was more than likely Ardyn, but his brother was chosen because he had taken in so much of the plague that his body wasn't pure
Jesus Christ, XV's story is so fucking barebones and yet you are too retarded to get it.
Wish they'd have spent time remaking the second half of the game and actually making the story not dogshit then re-releasing it.
The intro was a great introduction to the setting, setting up the pieces of the conflict, and the Empire actually had a degree of personality and agency.
The main characters weren't very interesting, but the world around them and the story they were involved in, was.
It's really hard to say. I thought I would hate it (played all mainline FF games, some spinoffs, the only main game I stopped playing at the beginning was 13-3) and yet I got 50 hours out of it.
The combat, while easy and braindead, isn't bad per se. But you'll want to end fights as quickly as possible as to not be stuck with the boring slug too long, so you hit everything in their butt constantly.
If you just want the story get for a like 6-7 hours game. Yes, the story is that barebones in the game. The other 40+ hours come solely from the hunts/sidequests. So if you are into hunting monsters it definitely is worth it.
All in all I wouldn't say it's a bad game, but it's just so much wasted potential.
the only part he's wrong about is that ardyn is a "bad guy." the game really wants you to believe he's a dindu
Ardyn was the Crystals chosen and went around the world taking all the world's problems into himself. He is the XV version of Jesus and Angry Manjew.
Saying he is not important is absolutely braindead and shows he didn't play the game or is too retarded to make anything of the backstory given to him.
does the game really justify his actions though? he may have been wronged but I'm not sure he's taking it out on anyone who could do anything about it in the first place.
they were planning an entire DLC where Noctis gives Bahamut and co. the finger so you tell me
Stop ban evading Barry.
I would be interested to hear more. It just sounds like their game was called out for being shit, and now they are trying to fix it but ran out of patches.
I liked the game, but SE can fuck off if they think I will pay for any of this after the cancellation and releasing those ideas in book form.
I wanted Episode Aranea so fucking bad, I wanted to see more of the Empire
That's a shame I usually find I solely play jrpgs for their stories, I like monster hunting but there's superior games I could be playing to scratch that itch.
I was excited until I heard they cancelled the 3 other DLCs.
I am pissed that this is the final DLC.
I wanted to play as Aranea and Lady
Lunafreya.
>here’s your playable villain, bro
Fuck this gay earth.
Why'd you pick the worst most overrated FF villain
>XII.
>Indian.
Thought it was based on the Othmanian empire?
>fucks up the world
>kills Luna
>not a bad guy
no offense but what?
I don't think it's him because he's not sucking XV's dick hard enough and has not spewed his past whenever and/or get posted
Even EA knew that story DLCs were dying out.
Highest selling, and best gameplay in a final fantasy game, aswell as the most critically acclaimed. Keep crying Yea Forumsipsters
that's what happens when you take 3 years to release
>all this DLC for FFXV
Just how bad is the base game?
>A developer supporting a game with new content means its a bad game
Oh but its the opposite
Does anyone else remember that Carbuncle surprise contest Square was running to entire pre-orders? Anything ever come of that? I got an e-mail that says I won the Cidneymobile DLC skin as a consolation prize but never got it.
You should have gotten a redeemable code at some point for the ps store.
Yeah, it said it'd be coming in 2-3 weeks but then I never ended up getting anything and kind of forgot about it.
Square Enix FIRED the director of that shit.
This game deserves a AVGN review.
what does it mean that the rest of the planned dlc got canceled?
i thought all the future dlc for this game was cancelled?
Final fantasy XV stopped being relevant a long time ago, can't help but wonder if it's a bigger failure then XIII.
Hajime Tabata the creative director resigned and he had enough power and play to keep pushing new content and updates for the game, so once he left they probably replaced him with some trash who didn't care about the game that much.
