I did everything except the bonus boss but I didn't really like it.
Got 100% back when it came out and I've been too busy to go back to it, I had fun watching the recent AGDQ speedrun though. I'm excited about today's soft-announcement of a sequel: nintendoeverything.com
Don't care about the mobile prequel they also announced, but it's cool for those who do.
I'm just starting my first of the final chapters. What is the recommended level for this super secret final boss I keep hearing about? I enjoy the game but idk if I'm going to have the patience to grind anymore after I close out everyone's stories.
>What is the recommended level for this super secret final boss I keep hearing abot?
70 ish
Plus all the best equipment
And all the advanced classes
And a godlike strategy
And a lot of luck
Took me 10 times to beat it
Mid-60s to have a comfortable time, 70+ to steamroll it. As always, skills and loadouts are way more important than raw level.
I didn't buy it after I realized that the party pretty much doesn't even acknowledges each others existence
But they do
Their individual stories are for them alone, but they talk to each other in the taverns
I became disappointed after i realized every character has only 3 chapters. I think i have like 2-3 stories left to do, that was 3 months ago. I don't really have motivation to go back to finish it. Convince me.
I just wanted another BD. I was absolutely obsessed with the first one. After this started playing on map youtube.com
All the stories have a nice wrap up. And when you finish all 8 (and a bit of the side quests) you understand that all the stories are somewhat connected (i.e. there is a character that has major implications in the stories of Tressa, Haanit and Alfyn, but you wouldn’t know unless you finished all their stories)
Making a quip every once in a blue moon doesn't count user. Every time I played through each of the quests portaning to each character it felt empty and shallow having every cut scene only have them and no one else commenting or standing by them in support. It's also gay as fuck that you have to level grind 5-10 hours to beat the actual final boss that's a HIDDEN SIDE QUEST. Don't forget that every single story quest for each character made you go to a town, talk to people, use their path action, talk to people, then do a dungeon over and over for every single fucking character. The combat system and art style are amazing but the core game is shit.
>it doesn’t count when I say so
Sure faggot
Yeah, i already know about that sealed god from other stories. Let me guess, final secret boss.
I finished everything except the optional supeboss. It feels like wasted opportunity.
Im not talking about that
>gem
umm? It's simply ok. I should have known better than to be excited for a game by the Bravely Default team.
dropped it at 35+ hours...
>reason
MHGU came out.
Now I don't have the will to start playing again.
Then i don't know what the fuck are you talking about because i already finished Haanit. The old baba yaga, the silent guy and her teacher. No one else.
I was so hyped for this game, everything about it seemed so good and I liked the demo, I thought there was no possible way they could mess it up. But yea they found a way. The characters/stories are all so fucking bland and they hardly interact on top of it all.
Without something to keep you engaged/invested in the story jrpgs are just pointless grinding.
That’s why I said it is connected with other characters. Knowing only 1 story gets you nowhere
Not an arguement
Neither is yours
I haven’t done a second full playthrough but soloruns are fun as fuck and pretty unique per character due to how they interact with the world.
Bought it recently, finished all chapter 1s with ease except Helgenish, tried to start Tressas 2 but the armoured rock enemies made me take like 10 minutes to beat each battle so I figured I needed to level, now just going around collecting every subclass.
Oyasumi
So you're admitting you're wrong and just trying to get the last word instead of retorting in an intelligent manner? Last (You) unless you make an arguement next reply.
If you have the best stuff it’s somewhat manageable to enter the final boss area at low 60’s and level up before the final boss.
Did you not have Saving Grace equipped?
>It's also gay as fuck that you have to level grind 5-10 hours
t. Casual
>Saving Grace
Of course, but what gives when the final boss can oneshot every character regardless? Unless you want the final battle to be 1 hour long then hell no
Man I grew up playing these games but I can't get through this one. I thought the slut waifu would be able to carry me through but it doesn't pick up after her section and it just feels like a slog. And yet I can blast through the worst RPG Maker games.
???
You said that my argument doesn’t count for whatver the fuck reason. They CLEARLY have convesrations between all of them. And in between chapter as well. You definitely didn’t play it or skipped them because you are retarded
You don’t get one shot when you HP is 9,999 unless your gear is total ass.
And gear is so much more important than levels
That’s what im saying. I had the best equipment, saving grace and proper skills for each character. But the final boss either one shots you or lets you live with very little health. You can always heal each turn, but i didn’t want the fight to last hours. I went with an all in strategy in the end and finished it in about 30 mins
>there are people in this thread right now that don’t understand how broken Concoct is
>But the final boss either one shots you or lets you live with very little health
Sure it does a lot of damage but you can rank damage pretty well at endgame between good armor/accessories and passives.
Not to mentions even if you don’t have a passive for defense you can still boost your entire team’s defense with the cheapest Hired Help
I got to the last couple chapter 3s and stopped caring. I liked parts of it, but the whole just couldn't keep me going.
Either way, the first phase is a breeze, the second one is a bitch. But Warmaster Haanit can twoshot the final boss
Maybe with the 1hp skill thing
But yeah also Runelord Terra helps a lot for phase 2
youtu.be
Here’s your final boss
I'm waiting until I don't feel like killing myself to buy and play it.
I really want to like this game but I can't bring myself to enjoy the characters Ive used so far. Who's the best starter? I bought it and it's just sitting there at the bottom of my switch library.
Tressa and Therion
There really isn’t a bad choice. Every character is very good at the end of the day, gameplay wise at least
For convience sake probably don’t go for the Dancer or White mage.
Therion so you won't have to back-track to get those locked chests.
This, basically
Any good starting character? Should I go with the thief first because there might be rareish items that are steal only?
What are some general things to know?
There’s passive skills you get in this game and I would suggest not using the one that lowers encounters for the most part because it’s too good.
The medicine man’s abilities are surprisingly good and are often overlooked.
Also know the beginning is basically a bunch of prologues. It didn’t bother me but it did for other people, so keep that in mind.
Therion is the only answer
His ability scales with level. So having him constantly leveling up guarantees that once you enter a new town, you can steal almost everything gueranteed
holy shit, does the game get this hardcore in the endgame?
Yep. Even the side quests and the secret job bosses are nothing compared to the final boss
Who did you start with? I think the top contenders for "Best Starter" are Cyrus or Therion depending on what you want.
Cyrus analyze eliminates a bit of T&E from battles by revealing one Weakness for every enemy at the start of combat and his spells are great for breaking early, his Job also gives the Random Encounter Down skill, which is probably nice to get early if you are annoyed at the encounter rate.
Therion has chests in Dungeons that give good shit if you have him with you, so if you always have him with you you will never have to backtrack, and he can obtain items early by stealing them if you save scum.
Honestly you can get a full party fast enough that it is more splitting hairs aside from "who will i never want to remove" since the Starter is locked until his/her storyline is done so honestly everyone is good, so even Ophelia has a "bonus" in that since you will likely want a Cleric in your party so having the Cleric be the one you can't kick freeing up more party building options, even with the pain of doing the solo portion as a healer, so i consider them Cyrus and Therion Top only due early game QoL of easing up weakness hunting and eliminating Treasure Backtracking and being Rogue paths means having them leveled gives better odds.
Alfyn is basically broken between Concoct and Apothecary being really good a Job, Olberics Path Action is objectively superior to H'aanits (Olberic can do whatever, he just fighst solo, H'aanit not only fights solo, but she needs to use Monsters, that are consumable and never get as strong a Olberic can be with a good build.) so if you gonna go for a "One of every Path Action" party you will want him instead of her.
Therion can stack speed to make the Thief Ultimate hit like a truck with minimal fuss.
Yup, but if you enjoy the combat it’s worth it.
I think he’s over selling it a bit but it’s a real good challenge. The game basically expects you to go all out with All 8 characters between two parties
It's still stupid to watch cutscenes play out dramatically as if the character doesn't have a full supporting crew just standing off to the side.
Galdera is simply too much of a spike, goddamn. And he doesn't even seem that hard of his own, it's the fact that you ALWAYS have to waste time wiping the floor with the 8 previous bosses every time you wanna have a shot at him.
Doesn't help that once you get the secret jobs you just get too confortable and used to curbstomp regular enemies in 1 turn and eventually don't bother planning strategies anymore.
30 year old boomers have won again. How do we stop them, fellow zoomers?
After watching this video, I oneshot him. Olberic with Battle Cry just wipes the floor with the second phase. youtube.com
There’s one additonal boss that’s tougher than the secret job bosses that’s good for gaging you need work
Although once you do start getting the hidden jobs the game’s difficulty drops, I’m just glad there was a real final test with them at least
Did the same, but honestly that kinda ruins the fun of it.
The first couple tries I really didn’t know what to do, and that’s where the difficulty spike comes in. After a strategy like that it isn’t really that hard, but you need good RNG anyway
How do you even get Olberic to 1HP?
Dropped it after completing all the first chapters
Game is shit
Unequip everything he has, go to a tough area and get him killed
Revive him with Ophilia and he stays with 1 hp
Let him get killed in a Challenge.
kek
And what's the equipment or whatever that makes your attacks stronger the less health you have? I forgot
You mean the big wolf in the forest of purgation? I eventually kicked his ass though. At least it's actually easy and quick to get back to him every time you fail
Fortitude, its a Warmaster skill
Fortitude(?) it’s the last of the passives the Warmaster job gives you.
Unless you’re literally building around it, I wouldn’t recommend it.
Also the point is the boss still kicks your ass surprisingly for the after coasting which snaps you into place
How is she able to shoot arrows when all her hands are full?
Her legs duh
I dropped it and being someone who played a lot of SNES JRPGs, i have no idea what people see in this. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's autist zoomers or people who only hyperfocused on one element of JRPGS and ignored all the other fluid elements.
alright
i liked it
and its getting a sequel, so i win
I'm not that petty. Like I said, there are people that might have just got whatever they wanted out of it. Congrats bro. You didn't beat me but you definitely won. I just wish people would stop acting like it's a great homage.
It really doesn’t try to distract you from it being an RPG much like other SNES RPGs
I think you mean it doesn't try to distract you from being a ton of turn based combat but I get what you are saying. Role Playing Game does not mean turn based combat for the record.
Tressa is best girl
Primrose is a ho
Ophilia is sleep
Haanit is SnuSnu
a sequel? you mean a mobile game?
gematsu.com
A sequel AND a mobile game
ign.com
>mobile prequel
What is this Kingdom Hearts?
I played it non-stop every day until I hit about 85 hours or something. But just before I was about to finish the last chapters I was suddenly thrown into an entirely new yet fortunate real life job. And after having been a involuntary NEET for way too long, I was in desperate need for one.
Haven't really gotten back to it, or any game for that matter. Which is to my great dismay.
And now I am leaving this thread instantly to avoid any final spoilers I might encounter.
But I absolutely adore this game. Absolutely love it.
nice, best of luck in your job
Teach me the ways of the concoct.
It sucks early game
Its only utility is later, when you can buy 99 of almost any ingredient
How the fuck are you supposed to beat this bitch, without rune transfer and sidestep cheese?
Equip characters with nothing but Defense. Bring Sorcerer Cyrus and pray to god that you have good RNG
you mix a bunch of shit and Alfyn can do anything he wants.
use apothecary divine (broken ass skill) and conconct Curious Bloom with Purifying Seed
>massive full party overheals
>can hit any elemental weakness 3x
>full party complete BP recharge
It takes time to get really ridiculous, bit once you get access to the third ring towns and can buy concot items it becomes really OP. Especially when combined with the apothecary's final skill that turns all single target items into all target items.
don't forget all those effects normally only a few jobs have access to, like elemental defense debuff, turn delay, status immunity, buff cleansing and so on. All on one class ability. Getting the ingredients might seem like a hassle when you start out but it turns you into an invincible demi-god.
I dropped it at 35 hours cause it was boring as hell.
*meant to say character ability since it's unique to alfyn.
Cyrus bulldozes everything with stupidly strong hit-all spells and his weakness detection. And despite being a mage he can take a fair amount of hits. I'd say he's the easiest starter.
I'm grinding for the final boss, but I did manage to get to him.
It was really cool finding out that Alphyn's Role model was the guy who wrote Tressa's Journal. And then learn Kit's Father And then also H'annits... well finding out how he was related to H'annits story was sort of a bummer, but it was still a real OH SHIT moment.
It is great how these stories are interconnected
I really enjoyed the first demo but for some reason had no interest in the 2nd one. Pirated the game a couple months after release and only played the first arc of the thief's story. I dunno, something about it ain't grabbing me.
>100% completion
>Second time
>JRPG
Yikes
What?
What are the best beasts for Galera?
