i love flightsims like ace combat and hawx is this like them?
No, it's for super-ultra-turbo autists that are willing to literally, unironically learn 800+ page manuals by heart just to be able to control a plane in a sim.
>by heart
most of it's memorization, i learned all of BMS in 150 hours tops through fucking around
Yup.
>have PPL
>have saitek yoke setup
What kind of autism are we talking here? I need to read something before flying virtual planes?
user, major Ace Combat fag here.
These two are not flightsims. They just aren't, they're arcade games through and through. True flight simulators are a lot, A LOT more complex. Don't get them confused.
>falling for the bait
>I want to get into flight sims but I don't want to invest in a flightstick.
>deep discount already
cope harder
doesnt this game have that shitty starforce DRM in [current year] that fucking nuked your windows install and should have been left in 2006?
what the fuck do you think by heart means
Did I really shatter your fat pathetic ass so hard in the last ace combat thread lol?
No, its for super-ultra-turbo failures that wish they could have joined the air force, but are too fat, stupid, shortsighted and physically weak to do so. They pretend that they need to learn 800+ page manuals by heart, but actually most of these sims are just as if not more casual than Ace Combat and Hawx.
>source???!!?!?!
I beat several missions in Falcon BMS tripping on mushrooms, I did not read the manual.
Falcon BMS is way more of a sim than DCS, so i can't imagine how bad that shit must be.
Even if it's bait, all I lose is twenty or so seconds to type out a response. No big loss.
What? I didn't say anything insulting to your game, did I?
>incelspeak
wow what a surprise, from the incel
probably, it has graphics from 2005 so why not have drm from then too
>tfw A10 startup

the perfect amount of autism desu
certainly not knowing literally every single thing about the jet according to the manual like you seem to suggest, most of it's just memory (although other jets might be different, the F-16 has a very simple UI design)
starting the thing is like 10 switches (in reality it's a huge job involving at least 12 people to get the jet readied and fueled in the first place), dropping bombs is 10 steps max (in reality you'll probably find the in-air paperwork and officer bullshit more laborious than dropping the bombs) and air to air combat can't really be done properly in a simulator but in the game it's relatively simple
>No, its for super-ultra-turbo failures that wish they could have joined the air force, but are too fat, stupid, shortsighted and physically weak to do so.
i don't think it's that, most of the difficulty in becoming an irl fighter pilot from all sources i've read is becoming a military officer and putting up with the bureaucracy and standards, learning to fly the jet is a bachelors in engineering type deal, top 20% of the population so yes it's difficult but it's not some elite thing
>just memory
by-heart definition: 1. to learn something in such a way that you can say it from memory 2. learned in such a way that you can repeat it from memory
You're flying over the Caucuses when this motherfucker slaps your RWR. How do you respond?
Dwarf fortress really isn't that difficult.

The controls actually do make perfect sense after you play the game for more than 5 minutes. Then it consists of googleing "dwarffortresswiki ______". Or just watch captnduck do it for you. You can have a solid grasp of the basics of the game in a couple hours, just like any other "deep" game. The value that makes DF a truly amazing game is that you can keep discovering things days/weeks later.
The amount of work it takes to get in and playing is extremely exaggerated. You just have to have a few brain cells to figure out "oh I hit a key to bring up another menu". I had the same problems playing minecraft for the first time, "how do I build stuff", so I googled it and WOW I'M PLAYING THE GAME NOW. I'm just annoyed because not a single person I have met afk has played DF. Everyone has heard of it and will not play it because "it's too complicated". The controls and layout of the game make perfect sense. Every guide tells you to install the Lazy Newb Pack version of the game that includes Dwarf Therapist, making the game is extremely playable.
TL;DR strike the earth
Eject, because I'm French
I would fucking love flightsims, but its way too expensive of a hobby. Theres no point flying without VR or a proper flightstick
