It was ok u guess, fuck V and and fuck mission 14 though. Visual level design near the end of the game are just flesh corridors. Why they fuck they screw Dante's Rebellion moveset like that? Although Dante having his own summon swords is nice and explains really annoying detail in DMC lore that's been itching since 2004. Vergil goes from 200% ultimate kill all weaklings and niggers to you beat me guess i'm good now really quick, it's kinda jarring. Final mission was funny as fuck not gonna lie. Overall could have been better but oh well.

How can there be such a design gap between DMC4 Gilgamesh and DMC5 Balrog?
They feel like they belong to completely different leagues, Balrog is fucking incredible and probably among the best designed and fun weapons i've seen in vidya.

Astoundingly terrible story & writing after the first half, it feels rushed as shit. I don't see people liking that after the hype and newness wears off, but at the moment people seem emotionally invested.

I like it less than 3 or 4, simply because it has a non-ending and it really feels like nothing was accomplished in the end, other than Vergil getting revived.

The story progression is pretty awful. V is meh compared to Nero and Dante, I think. I really don't like playing as him.
He himself is prettgcool though, liked him more than I thought I would. Wound up mapping the bird to R2 and contantly use lighting strikes in between and during melee attacks.

Helps too that DMC3 already showed with a gun pointed to his head Vergil will still pick the same side as Dante, and there's not really anywhere for Vergil to go in terms of power now that he's had the fruit putting him above and beyond Mundus

Most of it was great, I felt like the ending few missions were lackluster even if I enjoyed the final boss. It felt weird to end where it did. Gameplay is fun though.

I just finished beating the game in one sitting after it went live at midnight. This is easily one of the best action games ever fucking made and there wasn't a single "bad" moment in the game and the only glarring flaw is the unfitting music at times and the girl's fucked up faces. Easy 9/10.

Galaxy-brain DMC play is not using lock-on at all outside of command-inputs like for Stinger, it's actually extremely beneficial to do that so you have more freedom in targeting

The ranking is a lot laxer than past DMCs because it doesn't feel like Red Orbs really matter as much. Before, you'd never get an S unless you knew the secret locations and now it feels like its much more weighted towards style, the way it should be. The later missions did kick my ass though. Especially Vergil because I got comfortable and then got rekt by his new tricks.

I probably didnt "discover" this but I just discovered you can actually JC into the tomboy activation and basically switch into the moveset far more efficiently mid combo

I changed Dante's theme to Ultra Violet and the cutscenes before battles line up perfectly with the build up.

Yeah. Its great and like every DMC game is built for newcomers. Any game is a good starting point but right now there is no good reason not to just jump into 5 and work your way backwards.

I'd say 3 is still convincingly the best followed by 5 or 1 depending on what you're looking for.
It feels a lot like an upgraded 4, the stages are more combat focused and the enemies in this game are much more enjoyable to fight, they also left out dumb puzzles like the gyro spinners or the dice game.

The story is a bit of a nostalgia wank, but if you're a fan of the series you can't help but smile at the final parts.

Dante's reason for existence is straightforward- he wants revenge on demonkind for murdering his family. How much better is it than 4? I thought 4 was fine but I loved 1 and 3 much more. The missions in 4 were kind of off putting to me so I still haven't replayed 4 on any difficulty higher than normal.

you wont find any glowing obejcts. look for sygils on the walls and find the correct camera angle then a glowing marker will show up. i found 2 my first playthrough. currently going for all the blorbs, porbs, and secret missions i missed in SoS mode

Guys just finished DMC5 a few minutes ago. Had been away from net for the last week to avoid spoilers.
Is there anything I should check out that you wont see in a normal playthrough. Secret ending or something like. Shit people may have found etc

Its another player fighting somewhere. I'm unsure whether its always live or whether its replays. In some missions you fight alongside eachother (live, naturally) while you sometimes only see others fighting (could be replays).

sword master for kicks. breaks all guards. i use the punch mode for aerial attacks and dri (if thats even a thing).

Kalina Ann 1 is kinda hidden inside a mission, you probably won't find it in a normal run

Is there no way to use different characters later on some of the mission restricted ones? I want to fight some of the bosses as other characters, especially Elder Geryon Knight but I guess thats not possible?
