shill begone

shallow as fuck what did you think it would be

Can't wait for 300 thinly disguised shill threads just like this one to crop up every single day for the next two weeks only for all discussion of the latest hot "COMFY!!!" game suddenly completely disappears from the face of the earth once the paychecks are cashed

Fucking Christ, this. And worst of all is they're distracting from the nigger tranny SJW bait threads with video games. What am I, 12?

So what games should the board talk about?

>games

Yea Forums is for porn, tranny, e-celeb, food, and other off topic discussion

>Stardew Valley/Undertale
What kind of retarded comparison is that. Fuck off with this garbage shilling.

All the aforementioned games are "le 1-man dev team" games that made dozens of millions to the dev.

The fact that you asked the question "What kind of retarded comparison is that. " is precisely the reason I'm asking it myself. Like - what the fuck, what it gives to be the next indie hit if they have 0 in common?

None. Yea Forums is onyl for outrage newfag.

Sounds exactly like that horrible city builder where you prep for winters that "Yea Forums" raved about for a week.

i just hope this makes developers realise there is actually a market for ancient city sims so we can get a proper Caesar or Pharaoh sequel

Gameplay reminds me of banished

I just want a builder set in a world where no one invented ranged weapons.

game is shallow and easy as fuck, literally no challenge

Undertale had no challenge either

never played undertale, not sure what that has to do with dawn of man

people want more games set before the middle ages.
and this one is a bit more play-dough looking thing to keep us busy until Ancient Cities drops in the whenever future.
and that assassins creed ape escape:Origins game
WiLD never ;~;

That isn't a factual statement though.

Grug posting

I'm talking about these games in broad term, read the op.
Not constricting to genres but rather to modern indie phenomena. back in 2005-2007 indie could be a hit easily.
Now ,there is like 1 hit per year at best and it usually often makes no sense why exactly this game was a hit and not a similar one before. And how can you predict which will be next?

Prove me wrong.

yeah and it sucks

>Prove me wrong.

Genocide route Fish Lady and Sans are challenging fights, even if you don't like the game. They are far beyond the difficulty of everything else in the game.

Banished? I played that for 2 hours, it was nigh impossible and really slow for muh realistic pace of change. Pretty boring desu

Not a proof because:
>They are far beyond the difficulty of everything else in the game.
Does not take too much to do so since the game is piss easy at its base.

I knew you'd do that.

Also shilling. Dont forget all the blatant shilling.

Are you actually on the spectrum or are you too retarded to notice why games like Stardew Valley and Undertale are critically acclaimed? It has nothing to do with your retarded 1-Man dev team assumption. It's because the games are vibrant, have likeable characters, music and, most important of all, gameplay. It wouldn't change shit for the majority of people if there was a 100 man team behind those games or just one person. Get the fuck off my board, you absolute fucking retard.

>Are you actually on the spectrum or are you too retarded to notice why games like Stardew Valley and Undertale are critically acclaimed?
The problem is that they became critically acclaimed AFTER they blew out, NOT before.
See, this is the problem - people been buying the game like hot cakes before it had any critical acclaim and then this unusual activity brought attention of journos.

>Undertale had no challenge either

People played Undertale for "le quirky characters/memes" and the meta-game stuff, it could have been a visual novel and nobody would have cared.

I'm not sure how is that relevant to the subject since it does not address the point in the post you are quoting. Even though I agree with you

Journos have no influence on normie scale.

Attached: 1545201535674.jpg (536x800, 60K)

they only have influence on libtards that don't even like video games

Yea Forums is about shitting on the opinions of 16 year olds who actually come here to discuss their favorite ubisoft game

Look up Ymir

What do you think is the mod potential for this game? It's so bare bones that you could do literally anything with it.

stardew valley is good, sure. Undertale is a pile of boring fucking shit.

It looks like Banished: Caveman edition

Why is it popular?

Attached: 1390197720821.png (571x540, 434K)

Banished was good and fun and people want more, that's why.

Reminded me 0AD which is still chugging alone surprisingly

I agree with you on Valley but the reason only reason why Undertale is still remembered now is because of Sans memes. I'm not saying it wasn't a hit but people don't really have the same fondness for it the same way they have a fondness for Valle, if anything it's either an autistic fixation or "hahah memes!"

I know this is going to be hard for you to accept but there are people on Yea Forums who enjoy talking about videogames

Because people are desperate for City Builders, it's the same reason why Surviving Mars was popular despite not excelling at neither gameplay or the setting's mood, city builders are so fucking dead that people either cling onto whatever comes out or just replay the Sierra Games every other week

It wasn't though, Banished was a very bare bones city builder

Yea Forums is 16 years olds discussing their favorite drama surrounding their favorite Ubisoft game.

Actually, the only real difference between Undertale and Valley is the fact that Valley is designed for long term playability, while Undertale is ultimately a linear title that you play once or twice and not come back to every day.

Undertale was incredibly popular because of it's interesting story, good atmosphere, great soundtrack, and gameplay that somehow people actually found enjoyable. To diminish it to "nothing but memes" is either a joke or pathetic. And I say this as someone who never actually liked the game.

People loved it because they genuinely found it incredibly fun and interesting on multiple angles. God knows I don't know why, but pretending it wasn't because of the game is a joke. You CLEARLY haven't been here around the damn time it came out.

You're an illiterate retarded faggot by the way

>If you talk about games on Yea Forums you're a shill

There is actually some in-depth explanation how the word of the mouth worked in case of DoM:

archive.fo/MFudP

>Which I can corroborate. Madruga sent a beta key to RPS back in December 2018, which unfortunately didn’t rise to the top of our overflowing review code tombola at the time, but the concept caught other attention. “This time around a few fairly large YouTubers made content about the game.”

>The major player there appears to be smooth-voiced Swede Keralis, whose first Dawn Of Man beta video, shared with his 1.8m subscribers, racked up almost a million views.

>Keralis released around a dozen subsequent Dawn Of Man videos, with views ranging from 400k to 60k – in total, 3.4 million.

>Throw in around half a million total views apiece from the likes of Dreagast, Raptor and Russia’s Antik, about 250K from the UK’s Skye Storme, and a large number of sub-10,000 view videos from smaller streamers, and the cumulative reach to like-minded players last December became substantial, despite the lack of anyone truly massive.

I hope they keep developing it and add some depth. Currently it's nice but lacking.

So like Banished?

is it better or worse than rimworld?

much worse but you would be better off comparing it to banished

I guess, Banished is still quite different though and completely lacks the early man theme.

It's not really comparable to Rimworld.
