Who is the best Street Fighter and why is it Akuma?

Tell me about Akuma. Is he a nice guy?

He's kind of a dick to Ryu but he's pretty neutral otherwise. He just wants to be the strongest, doesn't want to take over the world or kill randos or anything.
There was a proposed SFV concept of Akuma adopting a baby and fighting with it on his back, which is hilarious. He'd have special animations for never landing on his back, I wish we could have seen it.

>Name is literally Akuma, Aku meaning "evil" in japanese
>refers to himself as a "denizen of hell" and "evil incarnate"
>killed his teacher and attempted to kill Gouken
>"he's pretty neutral"

lol

He's evil in the sense that he fights to kill. He takes the teachings of ansatsuken litterally and uses Satsui no Hado for the purpose of killing.
Aside from that he is the only practicioner fully immersed in Satsui no Hado to not be driven mad by it. His mind is focused on the sole purpose of being the strongest and, so, his bloodlust never takes control of him.
He never fights opponents who he deems weaker or unworthy, he does not fight opponents who back away from his challenge. The only exceptions are Ryu, who he sees as his potential ultimate challenge, Gouken who was his rival and his master who he killed as a rite of passage. Other than that, canonically, he hasn't killed anyone other than his master.
It is also canonically considered that outside of fighting, he is a peaceful man who is uninterested in taking part in the outside world.

>killed his teacher
In a fight to the death.
>attempted to kill gouken.
In a fight to the death.
His Japanese name is Gouki by the way, which means demon.
Notice in one of his SF Alpha endings he's about to finish off Gen but he doesn't because he realizes Gen is terminally ill and it wasn't a fair fight.

im sick of seeing this busted faggot everywhere.

He is more lawful evil, he kills people remorselessly but only those who are a challenge or threat to him.

Doesn't he destroy a submarine with innocent people inside in his SF3 ending?

Nigga litterally sells fruit, you can't ve evil and sell fruit because it would ruin the produce.

Do you not consider his actions towards Ryu and Gouken enough to make him evil?

If I constantly followed someone around and tried to murder them or manipulate them to get them in a situation where I could murder them, then wouldn't you consider me to be a pretty fucking bad guy? Me not giving a shit about anyone else doesn't suddenly make me good.

since when? maybe evil makes it taste better

Heh

No one said he's good, he's just not evil. Akuma sees that there's a huge amount of potential in Ryu but Ryu refuses to give in to the hado. He's not annoying Ryu for no reason.

Arcade mode endings tend to NOT be canon.

Where does he get the fruit from?

His garden.

Devs made akuma OP in every sf title he was in as playable character. Why play any other shoto character (ryu, ken, sakura) when akuma can do what they do better and has access to every single advanced technique?

His only drawback is that he has comics personality of "lol i am evil".

No because he is not ill intentioned.
He tried to kill his brother because as a tradition, there can only be one master of Ansatsuken. He stalks Ryu because Ryu is consumed by Satsui no Hado and Akuma sees it as great potential for a future rival. Akuma's ultimate purpose is to find a battle that can kill him. He is not evil in the traditional sense, but nobody said he wasn't fucked in the head. He totally ignores Ken because he doesn't even see him as a genuine Ansatsuken practicioner since Ken doesn't tap into dark hado.
Akuma does not find joy in the pain of others, he does not kill for the pleasure of it, he does not enjoy causing harm or misery to others. He's just a true traditional warrior. Someone in the same branch as Miyamoto Musashi. Someone entirely dedicated to the art of killing and battle, a real warrior. Someone who may not intend to cause harm or evil, but only consider that the purest form of fighting is to the death. Miyamoto Musashi was the exact same. Every battle fought ends in death for one or the other. For that reason. Akuma is prepared to die everytime he fights. He's fucked in the head, but noble in his cause.

>Playing Akuma over Ken in 3rd Strike
>Playing Akuma over Sakura in Ultra
I agree that he's never been bad, but you should drop the hyperbole. Also it's Dictator who is "lol evil world domination chaos" shit, Akuma is "Martial arts over anything, even over my own humanity".

I've often questioned if it's okay for some characters to always be good (as in high tier) and others to be shit.
That is, someone like Honda hasn't been relevant since SF2 while Akuma is always strong.

>ever pleying shotos
kys you boring shits

abel was my favourite in 4
if i had played 5 it would probably be zeku or menat

Doesnt he want ryu to go all evil and shit so ryu can kill akumer?

Evil shoto fights are pure kino you pleb

Akuma doesn't attack innocent people, he challenges warriors, and even then, only the best warriors. You remember the requirements for making him appear, right? You have to EARN the right to fight an opponent of that caliber.

Akuma's not a straight villain. If his opponent is weaker/sick, he won't fight them. He's similar to Goku or Hisoka, a massive fightfag that wants to get stronger or seeks strong opponents. He simply wants to fight someone who's at their peak and does so to the death, giving the teachings of the Satsui no Hado. It's understandable why people may not really get Akuma's character. Recent depictions sort of shed a little light on it.

You're about to catch these shunpu loops if you don't shut your mouth.

Hmph.

>>killed his teacher
Dude, this is the oldest fuckin trope in the book. Have you never watched a movie with samurai?

>That African pussy

Still dont understand how this situation happened.

His name in japanese "Gouki" actually means "Strong spirit".
Also, his master was proud to be bested by his student. It even says so in the official story.

Probably went to his market for a snack.

He wants a strong opponent. Sorta like grooming, I guess? Because Ken doesn't really want anything to do with the Satsui no Hado, and Ryu was the only other practitioner at the time (before Gouken was revealed to be alive).

Doesn't Hisoka have a hard-on when fighting kids?

Akuma dies in 2 or 3 mid kicks, he's the series' glass cannon

Bullshit, he only eats 12pt bucks he kills with raging demon.

Attached: Akuma 18.gif (304x224, 35K)

What the fuck was his deal?

No, he gets hard when he fights a strong opponent. Gon/Killua are stated to have extremely high potential for growth, Gon moreso. He's just Goku written realistically.

>want to fight strong opponents
>kill everyone you find who is strong
>they have no opportunity to improve and award a greater challenge later, or possibly give birth to stronger kids

Akuma is a fucking retard.

He SELLS the fruit, user. Plus farming is good training for the body.

Huh. Never picked that up in any games, comics or anime.

dumb turtle fucker

He's not irredeemably evil but his one track mind of being the strongest and willing to prove it at almost any cost is still pretty evil.

I think giving him a redemption arc or making him more gray like in this pos is a neat idea. I think the only reason they didn't do the adoption angle is because Balrog ended up having that. But does anyone actually like Ed?
