Stopped right after Mission 7 because I just had a tooth extracted today and I'm exhausted.

Thoughts so far:

Nero's a lot of fun once you get a chunk of his moves. All of the devil breakers feel good, and his new divebomb move is awesome.

V is a neat concept, but in practice you can just mash to victory. Trying to do anything cool with him feels unresponsive because Shadow needs to teleport around. Nightmare is just plain broken.

Game is way too easy so far. All DMC games are easy on Normal, but I haven't even been taken to half health yet, and I've S ranked every mission. This is a problem because I'm a mediocre player. Hope DMD is really hard.

Presentation is great. Music and graphics are top notch. I spent the first 45 minutes bouncing between brightness settings, though. Very strange brightness indicators.

Enjoying it so far, but S ranking every mission just feels wrong with how mediocre I've been playing.

Whichever you prefer between DS4 and Xbone Elite. Some people still use DS3 because it's what they're comfortable with, but there's no reason to use it if you're just starting out now.

You could always try playing it with the Duke if you want to really challenge yourself.

Only played the first 2 stages before I had to go to work. Game feels fucking excellent so far.
I didn't think they'd top DMC4 in gameplay but they knocked it out of the park.
The arm mechanics are way more interesting and balanced than Nero's old cutscene button and moving feels way smoother with the new sprint.

Play 4 first. You'd be missing out on a lot. Plus, it'll acclimate you to Nero.

4 gives you some backstory on nero and his relationship with dante but it's not that important

Most of the plot picks up from where 4 left off so it's best you play through it

For the final encounter in Mission 7, it didn't say anything at all. I started the mission alongside another player, but against the "boss" there was no indicator at all, but I could tell by the way he was playing that it was AI.

Haven't tried RE2 on PC so I can't compare, but I'm getting a steady 60 on this massive piece of shit. Cutscenes run like ass half the time but gameplay is somehow really smooth.

I sure love taunting while mashing X and Y, and rotating the stick occasionally.
The whole fucking point of the style meter is to make you use your whole kit, even the riskier moves. V has no fucking risk.

It's really hard in this one. I can get to SS just fine, but getting to SSS is brutal. I managed it with V out of sheer luck because Nightmare is broken, but with Nero it's hard as fuck. I haven't been able to do it without destroying an arm.

I always want to know how the Nero player reacts when he's fighting a boss and then V summons a Nightmare to bellyflop from out of fucking nowhere with little to know warning.

Too early to say. I will say that Mega Buster seems to be shit. I always just overload it ASAP. All of the others seem to have strong uses, though. Maybe not Helter Skelter, but it feels good to use anyway.

Seems like the game want me to throw them away every 2 second but most of the time I want to stay with the crurent one as long as I can, like the gerbera for example , shit's great for big crowds and bosses

press the rev button with good timing at the end of attacks to instantly get a charge
those charges power up your next attack, you can also do this WITH powered up attacks to retain charges
with the max-act upgrade you can do all three at once, but the timing is very hard

Gerbera is objectively the best devil breaker

If you press the rev button at the right time while doing a sword attack you'll insta gain a exceed bar and you can purchase an upgrade where you can rev at the exact right moment to get level 3 exceed.

Immediately AFTER a slash connects (or whiffs,) press the exceed button, and you'll gain a charge. With MAX ACT, you can gain all three charges with perfect timing. It just takes practice. I'd start by getting the timing of your very first slash down. You want to press the button when the sword is pointed straight down. It's a pretty easy timing to get. Keep in mind that the sword swings faster when you have a charge, so there's a different timing.

I downloaded the whole game, it wouldn't unpack and when I logged on to check today the download was back at 0% and there were no files in the steamlibrary downloading folder that there were last night.

1 is great. You'll probably struggle with the controls and camera a bit, though. Controls are stiffer than you'll be used to (one trick to help is that you can rotate the stick after a sword slash to cancel the animation.) Camera is just kind of rude in some instances. You'll have to learn to use your ears to detect enemy attacks.

2 is lousy and should be skipped. 3 and 4 still feel great.

charging up balrog by using the fists gives you mad style points easily.

I feel like you pretty much have to break them to get consistent SSS in a timely manner. Also, I keep forgetting you can break with L1 to avoid enemy damage.

I finished Mission 6 with my hood up and didn't even realize that's the taunt I had performed. I only noticed on the finishing zoom. Also, taunting that mission 6 boss didn't give me any style, which was a bummer. Fight was a lot more fun than I was expecting, though. Big monsters like that are usually a drag.

user, Trishuu already looks the same, she doesn't age because she's a demon. She was most likely made in Eva's image of how she looked around the time she died. Eva just looks better in certain scenes because her hairstyle flatters her face more. I think she also has different eye makeup.

There's a secret cutscene for each fight, you just need to do well enough in them (the dialogue at the end of each will tell you how you did). Not sure about weapons beyond KA1 and the only costumes are texture swaps and supers. There's also a (very fucking brief) joke ending for beating Urizen in the prologue.

I'm actually impressed by how well the V controls work, it doesn't feel slow and you always have the control by using the boys to dodge so you can recall them.

Does the denuvo-free exe fuck up the game at all?

Does anyone have tiny stutters when entering new buildings or rooms? How do i fix it?

I've seen Trish scenes both with and without butt flare, so it probably is possible to turn that off somehow.

I did for 1-4 but style switching was awful in 4 with it, so I'm using a Ps4 controller.

It sometimes button smash because the stun griffon has can work really well with shadow dealing fuckloads of damage, and that causes a short period of button mashing, but once you start making combos with shadow it becomes fluent as fuck.
