I rather have generic established races than bland as fuck level design and shit UI.
Name me a single well designed jRPG on a level of Arx Fatalis.
As example, there's a goblin kingdom.
They have places where they sleep, eat, shit, cook, store their treasure etc. Everything is structured in a way that it feels like a real place.
Now look at the avarege jRPG, every dungeon feels artificlal, way too huge and empty to function properly with lacking infrastructure and little details and enemeis just stand around all day in empty corridors waiting for the player to kill them.

Wildstar art stlye is awesome had a unique cartoony style to it that was nice and expressive
Now they gameplay it had it perks enjoyed pve but I got bored with it really quick Like a I do with all mmos didnt even make it to endgame and WildStar devs shot themselves in the foot so much its a wonder they didnt die sooner.
Guild Wars 2 played it for a month and stopped I just like the races more in WS and GW2 than FF but there both not anything unique.
FF is a annoying game to play it drags on for so long with story quest and its races are just humans of different sizes.
The only MMO I really enjoyed for a decent amount of time is Champions Online but thats not the point we are talking about playable races
