It's not impossible to fake a certificate, but you quickly get found out and will get booted out of the web browser consortium to issue any more certificates because the system is the basis for HTTPS support in the browser. See what happened to WoSign a couple of years back and Mozilla. There are instances of certificates leaking out and malware getting through the system but they get revoked quickly and even if you went around and tried to get it signed by shady people, the cost is easily upwards of 1k USD per file. There is no reason someone would want to spend that much to make a fake DMC5 evecutable as malware that isn't ransomware or something to recouperate the loss, which hasn't clearly happened.

It's better than a crack because it also actually strips out all the Denuvo code that usually would be there and makes the executable smaller, which means you can actually fit more code into your CPU cache and it will run faster and smoother.

The crack works but his torrent sucks donkey balls and is filled with leechers.

It's still technically cracked because it has an altered steam api. lucky I've got the original so I can use it properly with stem emu.

I just copied all the game files to another folder, applied the crack and I'm playing that exe right now. I haven't put any actual play time into the legit Steam exe, and you can get a refund for pretty much any reason as long as you haven't played a couple hours of the game on Steam.
