What the fuck? GOG just announced a partnership with Blizzard and now Blizzard games are being sold on GOG

What the fuck? GOG just announced a partnership with Blizzard and now Blizzard games are being sold on GOG.

What's going on here? Why wouldn't Blizzard just sell the games through their own client? Are they getting desperate?

>woooow fucking desperate blizzard is DEAD

they got that they are in the same ship.

Attached: a01.jpg (600x299, 72K)

They don't need exclusivity for older games, it's just free exposure + goodwill.
Hire more developers - blizz bad, get a game on gog - blizz bad. Are you all retarded or smth?

>GOG bleeding money and staff daily
>sell their soul out to Activision to stay afloat
>get a 23 year old game as table scraps
t-thanks

What? Since when is GOG dying?

old blizzard games that they don't even sell or support anymore
nice to see diablo actually available though

>>GOG bleeding money and staff daily
I just looked this up, I see nothing in the news about this
Fuck off, drama faggot.

On my android phone I must have over half a dozen playthroughs between the PS1 version and the NWN module of D1.

>Diablo
>10 bucks

I was under the impression that all of their really old games like Lost Vikings were just downloadable through some obscure page on their site.

I really hope they start selling Orcs and Humans.

>I see nothing in the news about this

It was in the news recently that GOG laid off a bunch of staff.

they have a page but no download links, only diablo which goes to gog
us.blizzard.com/en-sg/games/legacy/

Okay, I found it.
>12 people
wow, devastating

does diablo 1 even work on windows 10

They probably just grabbed the game from some abandonware site, zipped it up Dosbox, and then asked Blizzard for permission in exchange for half the money

CDP laid off 6 people last month and this faggot keeps spamming it all day long pretending that theyre bleeding staff like no tomorrow

I'm betting that Blizzard's current staff is so technically inept that they had to turn to GoG to help port their old stuff.

Attached: 1550256879556.jpg (585x568, 68K)

GOG exists to fix old games

>"GOG's bundle comes packed with two versions of Diablo 1. The first is a "vanilla" version, which runs on the game's 1.09b codebase with only one noticeable tweak: a scaling fix to ensure that the game renders at its original 4:3 screen ratio, no matter your display size (even though it otherwise transforms your screen in a way that resizes background windows in Windows 10). In comparison, trying to run the game via a mix of the original CD-ROM and official patch files can lead to a stretchy screen, should you not install any third-party mods.

>The second included version is a DirectX-fueled build of the game, whose extra tweaks were built entirely in-house by GOG. Among these are support for a variety of resolutions and refresh rates, a "borderless window" option, a v-sync toggle, a gamma slider, and a pair of visual filters: anisotropic filtering up to 16x and anti-aliasing up to 8x MSAA."
not always but in this case yes

Epic vs Steam threads aren't getting enough replies anymore so now OP is doing this.

Who the fuck cares if Blizzard sells games on GOG? Ubisoft has their own store but they still put games on Steam for years, because they knew they'd get sales on Steam. Diablo 1 is on GOG because Blizzard knows that the audience that uses GOG loves games like Diablo 1.

Doesn't Blizzard literally give Diablo 1 away for free on b.net?
>paying $10 for a 20 year old game whose mechanics are at this point merely interesting from a historical, scholarly perspective on the aRPG

>still not up on nugoodolddownloads

Fucking pirates hurry up and post it

See

No, there's another thing. Like I said it was hidden deep in there but I found it.
us.battle.net/account/download/

You have to be logged in but at the bottom of the page there's a free download for Blackthorne, R&RR, and TLV.

Anyone who cares better download them now actually, in case they decide to make them paid on GOG.

I'll care once they release Warcraft II, since that's the only Blizzard game worth playing.

Hellfire sucked and you know it.

>what is skidrowreloaded

>Blackthorne, R&RR, and TLV.
1. I've never played any of these. Are they good?
2. Do they get added to my Battle.net account (which I haven't created yet) or are they just direct downloads?

They fired multiple people and stopped making significant profits
I suspect that this is Galaxy's fault, developing a client can be expensive. I still don't know what they wanted to achieve with this, trying to out-Steam Steam is a terrible idea.
They should have used the money to improve their site, get more games, and try to promote the plattform in other countries. Japan during that period was a very interesting country. It's mind-boggling that a company which advertises itself with "no DRM" didn't try to approach Zun for Touhou. The only reason why Touhou released so late on Steam was Zun's anti-DRM stance. That's why Touhou 14 ended up on Playism.
With Touhou on their platform, GoG could seriously go after other niche Doujin games that aren't well known in the West.

The lost vikings is great

>oh no diablo 1 is on gog!!
>blizzard must be getting desperate!!!
are you retarded
you cant even buy diablo 1 from battle.net
none of the old games are there and have never been there

A botnet

They're direct downloads, like they're straight up a .rar file with DOSBox in it.

You do have to create the account to download them, though.

I'd definitely rebuy any Touhou that made it's way to GOG.

>You do have to create the account to download them, though.
What the fuck are you talking about? You can literally click the link in , scroll to the bottom and click on the download link.

>none of the old games are there
they are though

Does it come with resolution patches and shit?

GOG has already released most of the hits it's going to get years ago now and is struggling to widen its audience since, and so has since been stagnating. Most of the other games people are clammering for aren't happening because the licences are lost, e.g. Black&White.

They're also begun to tighten their belt at customer detriment, with the removal of the fair price package. So while they're not firing hundreds of support staff you can read between the lines of whats happening.

That's why GOG needs this.

>Are they getting desperate
Your turn.

>Are they getting desperate?
you tell me

Attached: file.png (640x550, 311K)

gosh that wizard girl is hella cute

Why? Just pirate it.

>that wizard girl
It's literally the Wizard from the actual Diablo games dude.

okay but where

What was that one Juice World song that was everywhere for a while? It was fucking shit but it was still played everywhere. I can't remember the title.

that's what I said, "dude"

>give diablo to the chinese
>they remove the only black guy from 3 and replace him with the necromancer
Based af.

Exclusivity no longer has the value it did before. Yea Forums can’t wrap their underage brains around this idea.

Is GOD back?

>"dude"
Are you a genuine baby boomer (1946-1964)?

>10$
Are you kidding? Wow. The nerve.

>no multiplayer
>decent

pick one

Its on skidrow already

Hm. Yeah, the "Windows" icon next to each game is a download link.

Wait, what the hell, is StarCraft free as well? Or is the StarCraft download just a Battle.net client installer that will tell me to buy the game?

exodos

>no multiplayer
If you're going to shitpost at least put some attempt into posting things that aren't easy to dispute.

>Wait, what the hell, is StarCraft free as well? Or is the StarCraft download just a Battle.net client installer that will tell me to buy the game?
It's likely an installer that will ask for a CD key.

The shitty kodi stream?

Most likely scenario tbhwy

No, the original Starcraft is indeed free. This is because they remade it and you can buy the remake if you want.

There is standard Brood War that is free and Brood War HD which is paid.

no the dos game collection

Recently, because of a lack of growth
Epic Store too is impacting it, not just Steam

>Worrying about black people in Diablo

I think GOG was trying to get Galaxy to become a multiplayer for ded multiplayer games. Sounded like they were even considering crossplay with Steam. Maybe they hoped Gaben would help fund their Galaxy multiplayer project? Gaben tosses money into Linux development and that Vulcan/Proton graphic API stuff. I guess there just wasn't enough demand to get an MP option for older games up and running.

Going to need a spoonfeed here user.

>already
I mean, I've played it pirated decades ago but thanks. Point is they should've just released it either at 2$ or free.

are you actually retarded?

Attached: reading am hard.jpg (1136x451, 183K)

>Epic store
>impacting anything when their complete library is less than 30 games
user, Epic's supposed popularity is a paid ad campaign if you haven't noticed.

What the FUCK? Okay, what else is free? Surely not everything under "Classic" on that page.

Nice conspiracy theory, Qtard.

are you a hippie or something that you go around "dude"ing people?

>what else is free?
the best things in life

You could literally click the download button and find out.

You genuinely are that dense, aren't you

Yeah you're not biased at all, Valve cringe lord

No, spoonfeed me you son of a bitch.

>g-gay frogs!
Cringe

It's not the fucking 70s anymore. Dude is common vernacular even among Yea Forumsirgiins. Only an absolute retard would call someone out for "dude."

Remember when Valve cringelords thought a fad like Apex Legends would beat Fortnite, thus saving Steam from Epic Store?

What's Just Chatting?

what a waste. give me lionhead games.

not in my presence

streamers literally just talking to viewers and not playing games

gog.com/news/conclusion_of_the_bfair_price_packageb_program

On March 31st we are going to discontinue the Fair Price Package program. Let us explain the reasoning behind this decision.

>We came up with Fair Price Package (FPP) as a way to make up the price difference between various countries. Some games on GOG.COM have regional pricing, meaning the price of the same game in one place can be higher compared to its price in North America. In countries where the game is more expensive, we give users the equivalent of the price difference in GOG Wallet funds. In actual numbers, on average, we give users back 12% of the game price from our own pocket. In some cases, this number can reach as high as 37%.

>In the past, we were able to cover these extra costs from our cut and still turn a small profit. Unfortunately, this is not the case anymore. With an increasing share paid to developers, our cut gets smaller. However, we look at it, at the end of the day we are a store and need to make sure we sell games without a loss.

>Removing FPP is not a decision we make lightly, but by making this change, we will be able to offer better conditions to game creators, which — in turn — will allow us to offer you more curated classic games and new releases. All DRM-free.

I was told by Yea Forums that GOG was serious competition to Steam... turns out Epic is the only real competition to Steam after all

>Remember when Valve cringelords thought a fad like Apex Legends, an EA game that's only available on Origin, would beat Fortnite, thus saving Steam from Epic Store?
what did he mean by this?

Tycho said it best when he said "Because I am an ancient tree whose bark is shot through with mystic whorls, I’ve seen the “core metric” change many, many times. In advertising, it went from “page views” to “uniques” to whatever was the new one after that. Actually, I think the one after that was “No wait, what we want is for your entire company to do is pivot to video if you want to continue existing.” Now, in addition to concurrency, they want people to watch the content for a certain number of minutes - it’s analogous to Kindle Unlimited, where “pages read” becomes the “core metric.” Ostensibly these are all proxies for “engagement” which is a proxy for “quality” but even that’s porous. The best you can hope for in media is that a billionaire pays to keep you around as a pet, the same way a supervillain might deign to have a white cat close at hand. My understanding is that, as interesting as all this is to talk about, Fortnite hasn’t suffered appreciably in any arena save perception. Keep in mind that Apex Legends has no mobile component, a realm which constitutes true, nigh Dwarven incursion into mainstream wealth. There was still a compulsion to respond, because of this “core metric,” but they’re fine. If they get hungry they can just eat gold. All they have to do is just sit back and wait for EA to ruin it."

friend simulator without the pretense of "oh I'm just just watching video games ha ha"

I don't follow twitch shit but wasn't that against the rules? That early PS4 shit was killed real fast. The one that pretended to be a game but as just a living room stream and the guy got his drunk girlfriend to show tits and a bunch of black dudes getting high.

You'd have to explain it to me as well - something akin to enemy of my enemy

Attached: valve fanboy.jpg (1526x472, 160K)

I'm pretty sure you'd still get banned for tits and drugs.

That reminds me how bucklington made some really fun streams, then he started doing non game "Just chatting" streams for the most part, and I kinda just drifted off to other streamers.

Attached: 1231244521.jpg (500x245, 24K)

The point was that "not actively playing video games" streams were banned.

They literally changed the rules of the site like three years ago after their Bob Ross streams were very successful.

>$10

Attached: 1550117327251.png (609x594, 34K)

>10 dollars

ten years from now when there's a fucking wndows 13 or something, will you have to re-buy Diablo 1 so its compatible with Windows 13, or if you buy this version of D1 on GOG it will be guaranteed to fit all new platforms?

Attached: 1214501958299.jpg (246x239, 12K)

Twitch was owned by Livestream.com right? Twitch was for video games and Livestream was for everything else.

>Maybe they hoped Gaben would help fund their Galaxy multiplayer project?
Would be beyond moronic, a company can't just base their plans around the goodwill of their competitor.

>Gaben tosses money into Linux development and that Vulcan/Proton graphic API stuff. I guess there just wasn't enough demand to get an MP option for older games up and running.
Is just Gaben slapping Microsoft. Mabye he knows something we don't, but all of these developments are negatives for Microsoft. Maybe Gaben doesn't like that a "questionable" company has virtually a monopoly on the operating system his customers use.

just pay for the abandonware okay stop asking questions. the shareholders said they'll break my knees if we don't meet their expectations again.

more like blizzard just helped diversify the marketplace lol actin like they need GOG or something haha

>not having Diablo, Diablo 2, and LoD keys after twenty years.

Warcraft 1 and 2 are also going on GOG btw.

Based GOG

Attached: belzebub.jpg (1080x852, 99K)

>diablo
>key
based boomer role player not knowing what the fuck he's talking about

Well that would explain why those games, like Diablo 1, are missing from this page:
us.battle.net/account/download/?show=classic

Were WarCraft 1 and 2 ever free on that page like StarCraft 1 is? If so, I regret missing that.

Why is everyone acting like GoG/Blizzard just decided to do this out of nowhere? Getting Blizzard games in their store was probably a process that took years to complete.

Those three games were never available digitally in any form.

Didnt their main writer jump ship to Blizzard recently?

Attached: 506626879.jpg (280x280, 29K)

Oh, I didn't know.

What is Belzebub?

"HD" mod

Some mod that makes the game similar to Diablo 2 and adds some removed quests

I'm guessing they feel like if they publish games on their own store, they need to have "proper" multiplayer support and they cba to do that. The gog versions of these games will probably require you to jump through hoops to play online.

That's good. That means that nothing is being taken away from anyone and this is an improvement over the previous state of affairs in every sense.

Twitch is owned by Amazon

That just makes me realize how sad it is they didn't even get Diablo 2 as a package deal with Diabo.
maybe Blizzard still gets D2 sales on b.net though. like once every a year when they do a new league reset or ladder or whatever they were called

Meant to quote

They do. That game's popularity is ridiculous. And everyone hates D3 so it kind of makes sense.

Seriously though, what is this replacement site for GOD? I want to pirate Caligula when it's out. Just give me a name or something if you want to keep the link secret, I'm smart enough to figure it out from there.

My mistake. Twitch was owned by Justin.tv not Livestream. Justin.tv shut down the same day Amazon bought both Justin and Twitch.

Gabe used to work for Microsoft and just loves to stick it to them whenever he can.

imagine thinking people buy or play games on that shitty store that aren't fortnite

they also removed fair regional pricing citing bad financial results but keep coping

lmaoing @ this not having the hellfire expansion, why even offer this for money

Yeah. When I saw this yesterday, I was genuinely surprised. Hoping they'll add the first two WarCraft games too.

Wasn't Hellfire not even made by Blizzard?

Hellfire was shit and wasn't even made by Blizzard

Hopefully D2 is coming soon with upgrades

Wait, did they remove the Diablo legacy download? Why?

It was made by sierra but it got sold with Diablo in a ultimate edition sort of thing, I'd say that means they should include it in the GOG "ultimate version"

Maybe it's getting a remaster

pretty sure D2HD is in the works like how SCHD happened last year tons of people still play D2 and botters/item sellers buy accounts every ladder no way in hell will D2 ever be for sale on GOG

>no way in hell will D2 ever be for sale on GOG
People used to same about Diablo 1 and look where we are now.
>bought it last night
>died to the Butcher
Well fuck.

You know what you gotta do to him now.

Attached: Stairs.gif (297x286, 34K)

D1 battlenet has been dead for over a decade thousands of people still play D2 hell one of its mods has hundreds of people play its ladder

Except that it's more valuable then ever before in the pc market.

Attached: Epic-Games-Store-658x370-e0673da6117a92cd.jpg (658x370, 20K)

unironically based

That's pretty cool actually. Will it install Battlenet if I buy something off GoG?

Yes

Yeah, it has a cryptocurrency miner but at least you get a free copy of Destiny 2 as well.

people don't want to have to use the dumb battle.net launcher just to play one of their fucking old games that was playable on its own
kys retard

Serious answers only pls.

Daggerfall, Morrowind and Oblivion have been on there for years. It’s an old ass game that they weren’t likely to sell and almost certainly would otherwise be pirated.

Calm your tits shitcunt.

>the GOG "ultimate version"
GOG's store page doesn't call it the "ultimate version" though.

>business stops business practice that makes no fiscal sense and hurts them
>"wowwwwwwwwwww looks like business is dead!"

GOG is not making profits and its because fucking faggots that talk shit about how they wont buy game just because Denuvo and how based GoG and CDPR is but even when game is DRM Free they just go into google-> type game title along with download and just pirate it lmao thats how it is.

Really annoying too, I had a good username on Justin.

they are preparing their split from activision.

You could've pirated Diablo 1 for two decades by now what the fuck are you waiting for?

GOG is not making money

>Epic shills have turned to GoG now that they were defeated by Steam

Except pirated copies are always rips of the Steam version because the pirates want to stick malware into the downloads.

Epic has heaps of capital, they aren't going anywhere for a while

GOG is dwindling on funds

Wonder if the whole "No DRM" thing makes devs hold off on giving them access to certain game that would sell well. Or if it's something else, like not taking a big enough cut to stay afloat.

Attached: Omegasmug.jpg (366x401, 31K)

>Why wouldn't Blizzard just sell the games through their own client
Diablo 2 is still on Battle.net, as is the original Starcraft. Really the only Blizzard games they don't have on their client is Lost Vikings and Diablo.

It's just a shame that she is an anal slut

Attached: a cute wizard.jpg (624x495, 34K)

I am not a shill for a chink spyware you fucking faggot.
I dont know from where you download but literally almost all older games released on GoG are free to pirate just type game title with googledrive or whatever hosting you want download from lmao. Steam doesnt have a lot of older games that GoG has.

>they aren't going anywhere
Exactly. They have no games and their audience is interested only in Fortnite, which is dying by the way, so they go for aggressive guerilla marketing.

Oh God guys what if Halo were to release on gog

>Fortnite, which is dying by the way
Cope harder, Apex shill.

Never gonna happen. Everything that MS owns is going to be on the shitty windows store from now on.

DRM free Diablo 1, fuckin sick

now gimmie DRM free Diablo 2, WC1, WC2 and WC3 and i'm happy.

>Never gonna happen. Everything that Blizzard owns is going to be on the shitty Blizzard store from now on.

Fastforward to today.

It calls itself a HD mod, but it's closer to a fan-made remake of Diablo. It has:
- higher res support
- new content based on unused stuff from the original game files
- 4 difficulty levels
- new classes
- D2-style progression with waypoints and save&exit
- quality of life features like shared/private stash, detailed stats, running in the town, weapon switching, improved trade screen
- D2-style itemization with two tiers of base items and normal/magic/rare/crafted/set/unique variants
- gambling, salvaging and crafting systems
- class skills like multishot or temporary res bypass, obtained at certain levels
The mod is more challenging than the original, especially when you finally get to the Torment difficulty. It has some difficulty spikes and some encounters may seem like complete bullshit at first, but most often it's just a matter of a good strategy. First two difficulty levels can be cleared while wearing garbage, but Hell/Torment Domain is a gear check and some farming will be required, although drop rates are rather reasonable and the whole process can be sped up using Lost Treasure quest. Any class is a viable option for the first character, but sorc is the easiest to play with no pre-farmed gear, at least until Torment where immunities start being real pain in the ass.
And for the love of God, don't do Horazon's Sanctum quests before you reach lvl 11 of Golem.

I'm not willing to pay for a download so I'll pirate it.
I don't want to use battle.net and I don't want to go through GOG, pirate it is
Fuck GOG and CDPR, they don't care about being DRM free, they just use that lie as a marketing scheme. The vanilla physical release of W2 in PC had securom and the launch day physical release of W3 for PC required a download to be playable as a form of DRM to prevent people from playing before the official release date
They could have pushed for DRM free physical copies, which have less DRM than GOG since they don't require an account or official server authorization at any point to be able to access the files from the original source and can be legally resold, but it is more profitable to charge for a download.
I hope they go bankrupt, I wish GOG and blizzard would actually lose money from me pirating it. Fuck paying for a download and fuck any company that charges for a download.
Death to Epic
Death to Valve
Death to GOG
Death to blizzard

>not with steam
Fucking bullshit. Would have bought at least 3 games if they did.

WC1 and 2 are coming.

MS has a store that forces people to use windows. There is no reason they wouldn't abuse it.

Blizzard doesn't want to pay to get Diablo to run well on current systems so they've had GOG do it and sell the game as part of the deal.

Where do you pirate GOG games these days?

Buying from GOG is nonbinding since you can download the GOG installer and slap it on a DVD/flash and never visit the GOG site ever again.

You're either a physicalfag or a piratefag. The first is dead for PC.

hellfire sucks get dunked on faggot

Something it has in common with the original game then.

BOOM!

Diablo was a fantastic game and my appreciation of it grew even more when I read the book Stay Awhile and Listen. It's also the very first game I played online.

microsoft has bunch of games on steam that were previously only on windows store. mostly shit but still.

Are any of them first party studios though?

no idea. most likely just published by microsoft

Either way, what's the site that you pirate GOG games from now?

What's with these fucking zoomers who can't find torrents without spoonfeeding?

Don't know and don't care. ''If you are too stupid to find them by yourself you are too stupid to pirate'' that's my mantra.

>torrents
And get caught? Are you stupid?

Stop living in muttland.

LMAO get fucked zoomer.

>getting caught
Are you stupid?

Almost all public trackers are infected and the clean ones are completely dead or with impossible download speeds.

LMAO MEMES XD but seriously what's the website.

>depending on direct downloads
kys nigger

Ok here's the site.
..... gog.com
...... LMAO get fucked zoomer.

Its worth it.

>public trackers
lmao
I'd tell you where to get good torrents but you probably don't have good ratio proofs or a verifiable seed history and they're full already, guess you gotta start sucking dick for invi- oh wait they're aren't accepting invites either, tough luck for you kiddo :^) Be sure to thank your 'trusted uploader' for allowing you to donate your GPU's health to mine crypto for him!

Try again without rambling now.

Stop joking around and give me the real answer.

I agree. I am just pissed that i've forgotten everything and had to download the manual after dieing to the Butcher.

>video game
GOG-chan has a shit taste! Shit!!

>GOG is dwindling on funds
It's owned by fucking CDProjeckt lmao.

Majority of the games that go for the exclusivity shit on Epic will flop.

>no tag for GOG-chan on booru
Damn

Old PC games are "hard" to play on new PCs, so instead of doing some basic programing on Blizzards part they hire GOG whose entire bussiness model is to "restore" old PC games.

[spoilers]Blizzard is probably just testing the waters if people will rebuy their older games without remaking them, and if people do they will drop GOG like they've done with all of their other "partners".[/spoilers]

Diablo 2 when?

Never as long as it relies on unique keys and B.net

nigga it's just as easy to pirate Steam shit

do you not know what "cracked" means?

Damn shame, even if basically everyone gets the galaxy hair wrong.

Attached: 1551359792095.png (1000x1000, 567K)

Aside from the fact it's not abandonware, there is literally nothing wrong with this practice.

I can't believe this is what the world has come to. To keep a company afloat, they have to resell a game that came out in fucking 1995, for ten goddamn dollars.

Some game that has no physical value anymore. Just copied and downloaded over and over again, printing free money.

What a time to be alive.

Attached: 1302110199434.jpg (786x793, 51K)

Thing is Blizzard has a very limited number of old games they can sell. There's like, uh... three?

So that strategy isn't going to take them very far.

>people continuously reference a stupid guy for one of the only things he got right.
Fucking NPCs.

Attached: pepe.jpg (499x481, 28K)

>What's going on here? Why wouldn't Blizzard just sell the games through their own client?
if a game is highly requested on gog, publishers sometimes throw them a bone even if they intend to keep using DRM for most of their games

>Some game that has no physical value anymore

Lol. Do you even know about the retro bubble?

I actually just looked into the gay frogs thing earlier and turns out he wasn't even right about that.

Amazing what propaganda can do to a person.

sounds like an opinion from someone who has seen this before.
>punished user

Did Zun not understand that steam itself is not drm

damn i just had a flashback of reading diablo 1 manual on a toilet the week it came out.

Gaben is also nervous about Microsoft locking down Windows more and more to work with W10 Store only. This is why the money goes to Linux devs.

>GoodOldDownloads shuts down

What's your point? You think they're flush with cash all these years after Witcher 3?

Get it from the new site.
Which is nothing but broken links

Steam is very vague about its policies and ZUN is one of those rare Japanese people who cannot speak English so I cannot blame him for taking this long. I heard something about how the real reason he became so relaxed about it is because he tried to sue some guy who was using the Team Shanghai Alice name and the judge didn't side with him so he realized he had no control anyway.

lol at gog comments on price and how the game doesnt hold up.

You still need to install Steam before you can download the game. That's probably enough to tick him off.

Don't EVEN know what new site you're talking about.

Great. Buy your games, filthy pirate.

werent there community resolution patches for diablo 1 that had widescreen and all sorts of crazy stuff or am i imagining it.

Too late, already pirated it from the ruskies. It's just nicer when GoD was still around.

Does that Russian site actually have GOG installers? I took a look at it but it just seemed to be a forum and I wasn't gonna waste my time signing up if it's something I can get elsewhere.

If you're talking rin.ru, yeah. If you're talking Torr then I dunno since I didn't grab it from there.

Yeah that was the place. Thanks, I guess I'll give it a shot.

They also realised how lucrative the money was in the camwhores just sitting around draining money out of desperate losers. Greed is an excellent motivator.

It says I need to open some ports to play online?

I don't understand. I tried opening the ports in the firewall and it don't work.

It just says that I'll be able to chat but I won't be able to play online. Anyone else with this issue or am I just dumb?

It's a good point, I see no reason to watch a male streamer. I want to see a girl and listen to her voice like honey on my ears.

You need to port forward, get something called Hamachi.

Windows 10 will be the last iteration.

Probably Bezel bub mod. Has game modifications as well so I don't enjoy it. Makes it into D2-lite.

>No achievements
Yikes, that's not gonna go well for the nu-gamers.

Doesn't matter since they keep breaking shit twice a year now. Fucking wine is a more stable platform to target.

they don't fucking care about supporting an old title, and GOG is exactly what they do better: supporting old titles by creating an installer that works, packing the libraries nicely..... all that stuff
inb4 muh DRM free
the real value of GOG is vidya conservation

Yeah, all those achievement-loving gamers that use GOG.

wasn't the diablo battle chest like $20 with diablo, diablo 2, diablo 2 lod and the guide books in physical form?

>Are they getting desperate?
desperate.

>games will have proper pc features instead of the barebones shit their battlenet versions have
Good

Then maybe GOG should try and get more games.

>Why wouldn't Blizzard just sell the games through their own client?

because all zoomers would just click on overwatch only and ignore everything else

They can't even get Chucklefish or Devolver to release games there anymore.

which version are you using? the HD only allows LAN which you'll need to fake by using hamachi like someone already mentioned.

if you're using the classic version try this
gog.com/forum/diablo/trouble_getting_battlenet_working

They have plenty of games. You probably have less games than me.

Attached: games.jpg (1894x965, 377K)

>Why wouldn't Blizzard just sell the games through their own client?
Because Blizzard knows that the Diablo fans hate Blizzard. Diablo isn't even a real Blizzard game, its a condor studio (aka Blizzard North) game.

Is that really your whole collection?

Older games don't seem to jive well with battlenet, so they are going to release their old games on GOG.

>Chucklefish or Devolver
It's their loss. I only shop from GOG so they'll never see my money.

No but i can't post the whole thing without gluing together screencaps in paint.

I'm still on Windows 7. People say "Oh you've got to update" but I can't really think of anything I've had problems running. Still works just fine for me.

probably because GOG piracy is rampant, as expected, with current year titles

Just highlight all the games and copy paste them like this.

Siero's Special Pick Ticket

>denuvo gets cracked in 2 days
>he talks to me about GOG piracy
Are you delusional? Putting your games on GOG can only turn you a profit since you are not paying for a denuvo that doesn't do shit. Pirates will pirate no matter where the game comes from. Retard.

Devolver has never really seemed to care about that. Don't know who Chucklefish is though.

Why is the font shitty? Are you on linux or something?

Nah, i don't want people seeing my weeb games.

They don't sell Diablo on their own shop.

Yes, at work we use Linux.

>Anachronox
BASED

What weeb games does GOG even have? It is a very dignified library.

I see your point, but you are the retard by being so extremist in your way of thinking
the easiest way to pirate an indie game is searching for "GOG" on any torrent site
pirates will pirate no matter what... yeah right, but non pirates will too if the indie is 200mb, and you are tired of blog shilled titles up the wazoo
the only real antipiracy measure these days is huge file sizes, that drive away many casual buccaneers

asking money for abandonware is NOT decent, stop that gog meme.

I always found it weird how on linux the browser fonts are bad. I assume there's some way to fix it but never found out.

>the only real antipiracy measure these days is huge file sizes
>implying
The only person getting fucked is the payfag, fuck ths shit industry.

Reminds me of when Titanfall came out and a bunch of third worlders started crying because of the 50GB size due to uncompressed sounds.

yeah, and it is totally legit
a lot of people didn't bother pirating shadow of war because it was like 110gigs or some shit like that

You can stay on a depricated OS all you want but you won't be getting drivers for new hardware or critical security fixes.
Just move to gahnoo+linux like any sane person.

no? Never actually but feel free to prove me wrong

You are retarded. In the end the paying customers get fucked by your suggested anti-piracy measures. This is always the case. I like GOG since it is good for me(AKA the paying consumer ).
.

A lot of people didn't bother buying it at all, like the only way to deal with that is physical and PC doesn't do that anymore.

And did not bother buying it either.

Probably just diablo didn't wanted to work in order to make diablo work on new computers. So blizzard decided to let GOG sell diablo for part of money. GOG has another great game in store, blizzard can get some cash from diablo without putting effort in making diablo work on new machines.

happened only because actiblizz is gonna buy gog and cdpr. screencap this!

or maybe theyre busy with wow classic, war3 reforged and the inevitable diablo 2 remaster

What's so critical about the security fixes? I haven't really had any problems.

This is the most horrible thing i could ever imagine. Don't even joke about things like this. I will buy Cyberpunk 2077 5 times if i have to. GOG should stay GOG.

Judging by the changes GOG did, announcing their new API stuff, and Steam doing the same talking about "a third party" it would not surprise me if the current gog connect stuff ended up being automatic, as a way for Volvo and GOG to react to Vault services and the insectoids

I have about 150 games on GOG thanks to GOG connect. that shit is a blast, and they should do it more often, or automatic, and share the revenue in some way

You are retarded.

Is Blizzard trying to abate the Epic menace by getting more eyes towards GOG?

No you are.
>DRM fucks over the paying consumer
>bloated file size fucks everyone
>always online fucks the paying consumer
>mandatory client fucks the paying consumer
Consider killing yourself.

no, you

youtube.com/watch?v=0rJco36FFr4

Well ain't you a stinker, user! I bet you impress all the girls with your IMPRESSIVE big boy opinions!

DELET
CDP DID NOTHING WRONG

This is true, the thing with piracy is you not only have to download the enormous file, you have to extract it so you need double the space and even more time. And if it gets a patch? You have to download the whole thing again.

Huge filesizes just result in a lot of work. And the irony is they don't even need to be that big, stuff can compress quite a bit with no loss in quality. They're just doing this to inconvenience the pirates.

>They're just doing this to inconvenience the pirates.
Now imagine paying and still getting fucked over.

Attached: 1518642191874.jpg (500x500, 47K)

>removal of fair price package
>I literally bought the game for 9 euros rather than 10 bucks

Ok?

>diablo battle chest
The original price of the Battle Chest from Blizzard's online store was US $39.99,

i like Galaxy tho

>TFW most of their staff were too busy attending gender equality seminars than coding lectures.

>And if it gets a patch? You have to download the whole thing again.
Probably the one thing I hate about having to pirate modern games.

yeah because the coders are in china and india or maybe even poland

I guess that sounds more accurate

It would be solved if pirate websites uploaded the patches, but turns out they're retarded.

im pretty sure the image in my brain of diablo big box chest thing being on sale for 20 bucks because everyone was sick and tired of blizzard is real tho. at least when i was living in asia.

Can't do that with Steam games though and since most games are on Steam, there's no need for separate patch files like the old days

wait... i was just thinking.

isnt Diablo 1 iso available for free download or something? like on archive.org? thats where i got it im pretty sure and even like brevik tweeted it.

I can't honestly say what could be an upside to installing a pirated game
SMACK MY BITCH UP

That's the thing, you don't have to make a patch. Literally just pack the changed or added files in a rar. But pirate websites can't even do that.

with sites like g2a or kinguin, there is virtually no games that cost more than $30
the first title I didn't bother pirating is REmake2
I will buy it eventually

>blizzard still trying to get money off a 20+ year old game that they didn't even make

You really shouldn't, the original is way better.

yeah its fucking here
archive.org/details/Diablo_1996_Blizzard

so is diablo 2 with key..
wtf

so 10 bucks to play multiplayer i guess?

diablopat.ch/download.php

lol

0) Legal stuff
You can no longer buy a copy of Diablo 1 from Blizzard and their associated providers, the game does not come with a CD-key to be used on Blizzard's website, and there is no paid digital download option. According to Jurannok, a Blizzard representative on their Support Forums, the game has been discontinued and Blizzard has no current plans to update it or start selling it again. Sources:
us.battle.net/forums/en/bnet/topic/13595100072#post-2
us.battle.net/forums/en/bnet/topic/14611181553#post-2
As far as I am concerned, that makes Diablo 1 abandonware, so feel free to download this iso, legally.

it's $10 to pretend you're supporting diablo (which is why its on gog and not the blizzard client) even tho in reality you're still supporting modern blizzard

>that they didn't even make
...Who made it then?

It's weird that archive.org straight up has game downloads and nobody did anything about it. And not just old 90s games either, I dunno if it's still there but I distinctly remember downloading Assassin's Creed 2 from this website.

id rather give 10 bucks directly to brevik or whatever..
those MORONS didn't even properly clean up archive org thats full of their games with keys

us.battle.net/account/download/?show=classic

condor studios who blizzard bought and renamed blizzard north.

>Blizzard selling games that were available to download off their own fucking site for the last decade.

Nothing would make me happier than Blizzard ceasing to exist.

you all just might be retarded
also giving blizzard money lol
stop pretending to give a single fuck about this
and fuck off from Yea Forums

Archive.org has some weird DMCA exception for a lot of its collection, mainly because the Library of Congress sources a lot of their digital stuff from it. Pretty sure NoIntro romsets are actually officially part of the LoC's collection now because they're the only 'as close to perfect' rips of the games.

Being on archive.org doesn't mean it's official. You can download full romsets from there.

D1 was originally an actual roguelike before Blizz bought them out and it became an action game

Good game for 10$. If it had Bnet it would be more than fine

I ave blackthorne for the snes and its good but a little weird to get use to. The whole cover mechanic feels random at time.

starting to realise that people are about to lash back at DRM launchers

>being against GOG, the only site selling games that isn't cancer and is pro-consumer, not pro-itself

top lmao

how can people be this retarded?

it has BNET integration though

us.diablo3.com/en/blog/22887361/diablo-now-available-on-gogcom-3-7-2019
>Please note that this version cannot connect to Battle.net and only supports multiplayer via LAN and P2P connection.

this right here will be the conversation in barbeques worldwide during this weekend
People love to have a service to take care of their downloads and installations, so this shit will probably sell like hot cakes, in boomer circles in particular

boomers already own diablo and zoomers don't care about it

Boomers don't even know what a computer is.

once again, the problem is not owning the game already, but having a service to take care of it
that is a boomer dream

Well I'm glad they did that because Roguelikes kind of suck.

>removing fair regional pricing
>pro consumer
???

he's a retarded gogdrone

does feel kinda lackluster... coulda done something weird like a hardcore ladder or whatever

What does? Who coulda?

i just got a gog .rar of it, and i feel guilty but i don't want to support activision anyway. to play with any mods / hellfire or not to for the first time?

>Windows only

Lame. Minimum effort.

You feel guilty over pirating a Blizzard game? The fuck?

he is hurting the gaming industry

Check this out though: youtube.com/watch?v=MgoUtHvxx7U

hmm. why is perfect world in this thread shilling their game

Nice conspiracy theory but you realize that game has been dead for half a decade.

You can thank Epic with their 12% and Fortnite+Chink money for that.

As a D2babby, is there any reason to play this instead of D1 HD mod?

Nobody should thank Epic for anything. Offering free games to the mouthbreathers while moneyhatting games and preventing third-party sellers is disgusting.

Hi! I'm free, free to confront the one who banished me to the void, Diablo!
Hi, everybody, and I'm free to reward you, little mortal, with these Aerosmith tickets! You'll be getting backstage passes, you'll get to meet Steven Tyler and the whole band - this Friday at the Coliseum.
Thanks for getting me out of there! By the way, I'm gonna have to kill you.
I'll be right back with the traffic and weather together.

Wait a minute. What the fuck is this? I can get Diablo II LOD and Warcraft III FT installer for free on Blizzard site?

do you have a cdkey to install it?

Oh so it's asking for a cdkey? I only have Diablo II + LOD pack left somewhere in my stuff. Fuck it.

yes, actiblizzard are getting desperate.

since they lost bungie and destiny, their only successful living IPs left are WoW and CoD (overwatch was not mentioned as significant earnings last quarter), both of which have slowly but surely been losing popularity.

yeah you can download the installers but unless you have a key for it that's as far as you're getting. maybe the old cdkeys/keygens will still work unless you want to play online then it would fail

Ever since they went Woke and started being buddies with Resetera trannies.

>diablo 2 remaster
Made by gog
Unironically i would play this

Fuck men do you think activition wants to buy/unite whit gog? Im legit scary

>selling a 20 year old game on another platform so that you can milk it some more

They'd have a point if Microsoft didn't send out a security fix for XP last year along with every later iteration when that big security breach was revealed.

check the price of the ps1 version

>Why wouldn't Blizzard just sell the games through their own client?
they can't be fucked to update anything older than Diablo 2 to work with the new battle.net servers
