Guys, I dunno about you but I am seriously worried that Epic are gonna take over Steam soon.
The guys on /r/games seem to be sucking Epic's dick as of late.
Guys, I dunno about you but I am seriously worried that Epic are gonna take over Steam soon.
The guys on /r/games seem to be sucking Epic's dick as of late.
Look reddit sucks ass and is awful, please dont bring them up
go back
EA also offered free games for one or two years but didn't help
I already owned subnautica and pre owned metro exodus but now I have no excuse... I am team epic.
>Epic secured the best looking indie game
Honestly wish Steam did more and secured their own indies
>having brand allegiance
So your saying Steam should pay developers to keep it exclusive to their store so they can't put it on GoG?
Is less choice ACTUALLY something you want?
They were old as fuck games that not even GoG users would pay for.
Some of these are free games released last year like Subnautica
Oh cool so a game I pirated a long time ago I can get for free by installing shitty software on my PC.
That's all reddit is good at though, being a marketers went dream and sucking corporate dick.
So many are just paid shills?
GoG could get some exclusives if they allowed for GoG Galaxy only games.
Though the recent Diablo release on GoG and not on Steam should tell you that it's fair play
all i can say is, thanks for the free games
don't have to buy them now from steam
Does anybody else on Yea Forums other than this one person always making epic game store threads even talk about Epic games?
>he actually uses reddit
I'm not pro-Steam, I'm anti-Epic Games on the principle that those Chinese-cock suckers want to make a console war 2: pc boogaloo. Imagine your platform being so shit that you have to lock developers into one year exclusion contracts instead of letting people decide where they want to buy their games.
All that tells me is that reddit is full of poorfags that are too cowardly to pirate.
literally the only reason blizz allowed it is because they agreed to have two separate downloads, one with all the extra shit and the game working on pcs made this millenium, one with battle.net
fuck epic and fuck china
Anyone got any info on how well the Epic Game Store is doing? Did Metro Exodus sell well on there?
how long they plan to give away free games? i guess less than 6 months from now
idiots like you said the same things when PUBG hit it big and kept spamming threads like this for weeks until they got BTFO by Fortnite
I just fucking bought it on steam what the HELL. WHY DOES THIS SHIT ALWAYS HAPPEN TO ME. Good game though
Maybe this will force valve to start making games again
literally get back there
It was a crafty ploy for them to pay a guy to make Rape Day and put it on Steam to further destroy Steam's standing in the lefty realm. Chinks are good at underhanded shit.
Try getting a refund?
I think it's just a temporary exclusive because GOG will do some work on it, like with SS2.
I mean pubg lasted like 6 months and saw declines
fortnite has lasted well over a year at this point and it's closest competition was apex legends which killed itself by taking a fucking month to patch, right as fortnite released a new season+ a free battle pass.
>last year
So old games.
thanks epic
exclusivity is bad for you, you dumb nigger. it offers you literally no advantage you stupid fucking cuck
>want people expecting free things to come to your store
1 v 20 years
Court of law agrees there's a difference
only Epic would have that info and I doubt they will release it
The fact that Reddit likes it should be warning enough for you.
Even worse, they do it free. However several marketers have been outed on reddit, recently one of the dude bro dad posts for Anthem was. Bother places are a clusterfuck but at least this one is far more skeptical.
So let GoG put Diablo on Steam
oh no, GoG exclusivity is okay, right?
i bought it like a month ago idk if i could
Oh boy! a game I already own! thanks Epic!
now only if your storefront was not fucking trash
This. Choosing sides nowadays is a sure sign of low income.
yes, what would be the benefit to having diablo not on steam?
>he fell for it
WTF I love Epic now!
>we just want competition guys, that's why we support epic
>BY THE WAY, KILL STEAM AND MAKE SURE ONLY EPIC IS LEFT
>GOG IS BAD BECAUSE IT PROMOTES TOXIC PRO-CONSUMER POLICIES, ALSO IT'S NOT POPULAR SO IT DOESN'T DESERVE TO EXIST
Epic shills continue to sicken me by the day.
desu, store page in epic games launcher is pretty annoying since it doesnt have list of the games but a fucking random squares with screenshot in them and no fucking search function so i have to scroll down to see older games
Steam single handedly created the indie market by offereing small studios a chance to reach a hige audience for peanuts in return.
consolefag here,
What difference does it make whether Steam, Epix, Uplay etc has a game you want to play?
Aren't you just playing in on the same machine? I don't understand people who say they won;t buy a game because it's on Origin etc.
Good goy, and you would be stuck with it forever. :^) Enjoy it.
Oh shit, it is?
Thanks Epic, I was actually thinking about buying this earlier today
Oh good, I get to see a live review bomb.
>he fell for free games
yeah man what a sucker I paid $20 for that shit.
For me I only buy games through third party sites, literally just got DMC 5 on GMG for $40.
Epic has no third party keys, so I don't buy from them.
Apex Killed itself?
I know your lying lol.
>we just want competition guys, that's why we support epic
Correct. That is my position.
>BY THE WAY, KILL STEAM AND MAKE SURE ONLY EPIC IS LEFT
I want Steam around. False.
>GOG IS BAD BECAUSE IT PROMOTES TOXIC PRO-CONSUMER POLICIES, ALSO IT'S NOT POPULAR SO IT DOESN'T DESERVE TO EXIST
GoG is bad but not because it's a bad service - it's just bad competition to Steam. It's been around since 2008 and look what happened just recently:
gog.com
It's because people don't like to have lots of accounts and clients installed.
>he paid for it
You're right, at one point, Steam WAS the most important thing to indies
Now? It's killing them
bleedingcool.com
>#NintendoSwitch community is a blessing! #BlossomTales is now a turnaround story: Humble indie dev @castlepixel can stay in business and continue making games. Love y’all! 3 months #Switch revenues surpass #Steam lifetime revenues 20 times!
A Switch port literally saved a company - while Steam nearly strangled them out of business.
>GoG is bad
>yes masters please shove DRM down my throat I hate not being beholden to software that can take away my games
and now you have entitled west coast jerk-offs screaming because they don't get free frontpage advertising and are stuck paddling in the slew of other no-name shit.
installing software from one company is not a good idea if that company is untrustworthy, and despite what people will tell you steam is actually very trustworthy when it comes to customer protection, which is why so many people will defend it
epic is run by people who are scummy (the same people who tried to frame Unity for committing some unfathomable breach of ethics they didn't a few months ago) and will buy out developers just to get people to switch to their shitty barebones platform that they have done nothing to make actually enticing aside from holding those games hostage
i think people are concerned for their investments, if steam goes out of business thanks to epic games or origin or whatever all of your games are gone forever because it's all digital-only.
>When Valve drones said Apex was the Epic Store/Fortnite killer
>steam is killing indies by not giving them free advertising
shut up retard
>A shitty Zelda clone that released on the Switch during a drought
Meanwhile actually good indie games like Hollow Knight have sold over a million units on Steam.
Because better the devil you know. Steam is a known quantity of shit, it has its uses and its downsides. Epic on the other hand is an unknown, and worse, it's owned by Chinks. You can bet your ass if Epic gets market share they will fuck the consumer so hard it would make EA blush.
Ignoring that it fluctuates and Overwatch has nearly as many views too.
Lol.
Learn to read.
GoG has not been the competition Steam needs - getting Diablo has been maybe their most proactive move in years.
It's lost a significant portion of it's playerbase already because it refused to update for a full fucking month after launch which is THE most critical time to show commitment to the game. They failed at it. So what happened? Fortnite swooped in by continuing to update every 2 weeks like it has for the last fucking 13 months.
The thing that I hate most about Steam (not precisely fault of Valve) it's the fact that most game developers enforced a Steam-enabled version in all stores, even in fucking retail.
And those successful Steam indies are still selling better on Switch:
kotaku.com
>The Switch though has seen a number of ports sell better than anticipated. Despite already being out for over three years, the Switch version of Shovel Knight sold better than any of the other versions at launch according to its developer, Yacht Club Games. Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap, Forma.8, and other games have seen similar success. SMG Studios noted in September that Death Squared sold more on the Switch in the first three days than all other platforms it released on combined, while the same thing happened to the Zelda-like exploration game Oceanhorn. And then there was SteamWorld Dig 2, Immage & Form’s action platformer that sold 10 times more on Switch than on Steam.
It's obvious Nintendo earns their 30% - Valve doesn't
>A 10 year old game
>Launch sales for a game from 5 years ago
>More garbage games
Oof, yikes.
>GoG has not been the competition Steam needs
I don't care about that. They sell games and treat me, the customer, with respect. That instantly makes them better than any other. So screw your console war 2.0 and take your "it's bad because it's not popular" rhetoric and kindly deposit it into the dumpster where it belongs.
>he accepted the ToS
How are there still people playing Overwatch?
I'm sorry games need to update instantly after Launch?
And Fortnite has already done that you stupid chink shill.
>Epic games store allows Rape Day to distribute on it
How does Yea Forums react?
This
I guarantee the Epic store isn't profitable yet.
They're probably draining the fortnite kiddies parents credit cards fund to keep it running and pay for these "free" games.
Not to mention the exclusive deals these jews are pulling.
5-10 years Epic will be bankrupt, calling it now.
From people who probably don't play many games on PC too so there you go. Idiot.
>team meat gets treated better by literally every platform besides the one they intended to originally release on
you can literally pay 3rd party advertising firms to shill on reddit it's not exactly a secret anymore, all they do is buy people's active accounts they sell
>5-10 years Epic will be bankrupt, calling it now.
Might be one of the dumbest posts in this thread, among many other dumb posts
UE4 is one of the most popular engines out there today - and guess what Epic gets? Royalties
Not with Tencent money backing them. That's chink mobile money.
didn't Hollow Knight sell like a quarter million copies in just the first two weeks of being on the Switch?
Tencent could buy EA with the money they get in half a long weekend on China.
I don't think you understand what the fuck you're talking about. The Switch, right now, has a huge vacuum for indie games. A lot of people like using the console and it has massive attach rates. Obviously, it's going to be profitable to develop on Switch regardless of whether you're a AAA or indie dev. Things sell. Steam has a lot of games on it, and you can expect to have games buried easily because so many come out. Is that a fault of Steam? You bet your ass Nintendo isn't taking indie devs and cutting them off from their store, it's just that less indie devs are developing for Switch right now because it's foreign architecture, and you ARE seeing a lot of them jump over to it for profit. Who fucking knew that developing for a hot new console would give you lots of money? Anyone with a brain. The Switch has the spotlight and not every single dev is developing for it right this second, but they will, and then when indie games become less profitable on Switch those developers will bitch and moan again because there are too many people developing on a single storefront to have lots of breakout hits. It's not fucking rocket science, retard. Nintendo barely promotes indie games; it features a few in Directs, but it doesn't offer spotlights on everything coming out, so stop pretending like it does. It's just a storefront.
>it sells well on switch
>that means the steam version is not allowed to exist, and the game should be exclusive to Epic and Nintendo
>consumers shouldn't be allowed options because of their toxic entitlement
I hope they're paying you to be this much of a shill.
If a game doesn't update at ALL, and doesn't change blatantly broken weapons, doesn't fix critical bugs like clipping through the fucking floor at random, and tons of crashes, people will get sick of it.
a MONTH of that bullshit will kill the hype your game has.
As it has. All the tournaments planned for apex are now canned. everyone went back to fortnite.
I'd rather pirate the game than get it for free with the condition of installing Ep*c launcher
Chinese tradewar cartels are getting desperate
Guy literally does it for free. Throw his post in the archive and behold
Imagine getting so desperate for customers you LITERALLY give away free games
Is slime rancher worth it?
Every store does it.
Holy shit, are you seriously still posting this shit?
This is like the 20th time I´ve seen this shit posted and it´s still dumb as fuck
Reddit also had an invasion from the Chinese government. I'd take anyone's shilling there with a grain of salt.
based and redpilled
OG Diablo 1 runs fine on modern OS already though.
>If steam goes out of buisness all your games are gone forever
1. Steams never going out of buisness
2. If they did 100 years in the future somehow, you definitely wouldn't lose your games over it either. They only require first-time authentication. You don't have to be online or even have steam launched to play steam games you've already bought, unless they're online of course.
Then boo hoo you lose your online games that would have long been dead by then anyway.
It's a solid 10 or so hours until it gets stale
Also you are beset with this tumblr abomination every time you go into your house
It's almost frustrating to listen to because it's the exact opposite of what his point is trying to get across.
>Epic games is good, exclusive contracts are good
>how?
>look at this example of a game being ported to another console, thus giving people more options AND selling more
OOPSIE DAISY
Sources for the Tournie thing?
I thought you were joking but he's legitimately posted this 28 times now.
Geez
What if I change my PC?
>when the only games you have in your epic account are the free ones
they aren't, the only reason why the view count is so high is because there's a league stream going on which is probably half bots anyway.
and as for shit like fortnite, more than half their view count is due to the top streamers that LITERALLY get paid six figures by epic to play nothing else but fortnite
>install chink spyware/malware in your comp
you deserve it, dummy
>when you don't even have an epic account
Honestly you should just kill yourself now for installing chink malware
Seriously why not just torrent the damn games?
I always torrent the games, which are not available on Steam.
Honestly I do it to make pcbros seethe.
>installing chink spyware
>""free""
reminder, you are the product
>It's a solid 10 or so hours until it gets stale
It's not. It's 30 minutes to reach terminal boredom, exiting and uninstalling.
Nope, I am just laughing at you getting chink'd. We already warn others about it often, but they are just stupid gullible goyim, who are just killing the video games industry.
DRM free is always okay no matter who sells it you moron. The entire point of hating on storefronts is their DRM.
>"I HATE SPYWARE", he says while using chrome, steam, windows, discord, android
Yeah I'm sure you had this opinion before November 2018
I think that most people don't really hate DRM but having too many accounts. What I like most about Humble Bundle is that you don't need accounts. Sadly, this is not the case with the store.
None of those have direct links to the Chinese government.
I agree with you. Having two accounts (Steam and GOG) is enough for me.
Yeah instead they have ties to the NSA. By the way Tencent funded Discord.
>Spiral knights is undead because of this
crossplay?
some clients are worse than others.
yep. these complaining faggets trying to bring some gay console war shit to pc.
This game is so fucking addicting, I just wish it didn't have sjw shit in it.
