I think something like Gitaroo Man or maybe No More Heroes comes closest to FLCL. Especially since, No More Heroes also had a shitty sequel like FLCL

I'd go with Revengeance since music played a more important role in that game.

Also, I hear that it's not worth it at all but I'm considering watching it anyway just to see what they did to the show.
