- customer support
- updates
- lower probability of malware
- steam is convenient
- for a normal firstworlder it's not about money but quality time when it comes to games, games are cheap enough
Pirating is literally what 13 year old south Americans do, there is no honor or dignity in it.

Why would you need to pirate vidya if you get $1000 a month for free?
>have to wait for download with steam etc
>day one pirate
>same download and install time but pirate = free
why pay for same shit?
Well what the fuck else are you gonna use your loose change for?
Pirating video games is just...... no I cant do it. Pirating is great. Only 2 reasons you should want to actually buy a video game. 1)access to non-pirate servers hackers go crazy in pirate servers, sure those same servers have admins who actually ban people but still. 2) of course is to show the publisher that there is money in an IP, so you cam potentially get more of it
>but what about supporting the developers
Those developers already got paid nigga
is there any particular reason to prefer Skidrow Games over Fitigrl Repack?
so whens dmc5 gonna be up on skidrow? re2 was out like day one (but i bought that game). how long do i have to wait if i wanna get cuhrazy for fuhreezy?
>third worlder ESL poorfag roachmonkey attempts to speak human
Jesus is there anything worse than being born outside of America? Thank god i'm white and rich so I don't have to struggle like this thing. Fuck poor "people".
That's fair, but I like nice extra things like online + achievements and having a physical collection too much to give all that up.
>I can't by vidya with good boy points
stay salty and poor faggot
>america
>human
kek pick one
Multiplayer
Reliable support, which includes updates (in some cases)
>tfw when you have an above average income but still pirate everything out of habit
What is wrong with me?
I like having the games with me for all eternity with my save file and everything I did in it
I mean, I don't leave the indoors, what else am I gonna spend mommy's money on? I'm not poor so it's literally money that would be kept there otherwise

>buy a car
no I'm fine, I don't have purpose, where would I even drive to. and it's bad for every human to want a vehicle for themselves, we should be making more use of trains
>buy an apartment
I'm very pleased with the one I live
>travel the world, go see places, other cultures
I already do that, say, once every 2 years. When you don't have friends or somebody to share your life it isn't that exciting
Multiplayer and less hassle with updates. Singleplayer is really not that fun.
>I like nice extra things like online + achievements and having a physical collection too much to give all that up.
thats why i have ps4
>online
>steamworks
Nothing wrong about trying before you buy
Supporting devs I like. Why pirate shit like Hollow Knight, UNiB or Cavestory?
If it's by a huge company, like EA or something, I don't usually don't give a shit and end up pirating it. If it's a really good game, I'm gonna support the devs when I can.
I can easily, but i dont have to waste my money like you brainlet
>just existing makes corporate cock suckers and shills fume and seethe
feels good man
I don't like breaking the law.
it's actually easier to just buy and download games with things like Steam, you get instant automatic updates, don't have to worry about malware, and get official support.
Gabe Newell once said "Piracy is almost always a service problem, not a pricing problem."
>yea, i pirate all my vidya, so what??
What you save in the download time of a FitGirl Repack, you lose in the monstrous extraction and installation time so I still use Skidrow when I want it immediately. I like them though for games that have been out a while, they collect all the DLC in one and stuff.
>skidrow-games
The patrician choice is having a PC to pirate multiplats and a PS4 to play exclusives.
How do I pirate on an Xbox One?
If everyone was pirating and nobody was buying, guess what? There'd be no games anymore!!! Same thing with movies, music,etc...
>Bittorrent
We weren't talking to you, peasant
Wait till you can flash the BR-Drive or when you can softmod/hardmod it faggot
>muh piracy boogeyman
>not to get more games you like
you pay so devs have money to make more of the games you like. Piracy is okay for poorfags with no money. People with cash steer the direction of the industry while piratefags can only eat what the people with money order.
The general public are the biggest suckers who ever lived.

You can't actually buy new games for PC anymore, if they started offering the option to buy an actual copy then I would start buying some games. Giving what is essentially a donation for a download license is not buying a game.
Sometimes I pirate an old game and like it so much I buy an old physical copy off of ebay just to have, I am not willing to pay even 1 cent for a download even if my money is the deciding factor on whether the developer goes bankrupt or not.
I don't care about supporting the developer, I pirate with no remorse. I would still pirate and refuse to pay for a download even if I were a billionaire.
Charging for a download is unethical, immoral, and communist, see Karl Marx' labor theory of value

I remembered how Origin forces me to buy Polish versions of its games without an English language support. Neither Steam nor Uplay does that shit.
there is no honor in playing a video game either so either way you leave with none.
This. I used to pirate when i was a poorfag and even when I wasn't I sometimes piratedfrom shit tier companies because I dont want to support them but want to playthe games, ubisoft ass creed for example.
Now I just pick games up in bargain bins years after release.
Supporting the industry you enjoy is a responsible thing to do..
I bought REmake 2 brand new because I want capcom to go back to making good games. I dont but EA games because they are cancer.
On the flip side I pirate/stream movies, because I don't want to support the, (((shady))) greedy movie industry.
>honor and dignity
why does that matter? are you bragging to people that you bought games instead of pirating them?
In general I prefer to pay those who have provided me with a service— that being said I usually buy my games when they go on sale.
>Bargain bins years after release.
>Supporting the industry
Literally so i can prove i played them, beat them, and review them on steam
>honor or dignity
>discussing childrens toys online
LMAO
But, if someday steam remove ofensive games like postal 2 and gta? Not remove from the store, but remove from your library
>only cinematic trash
That's bs and you know it. We got a lot of good indie games. You can argue whether it's your thing but games like terraria, hollow knight, ... exist only because somoene likes it and is willing to pay for it.
Speaking of illegal piracy, are there any options other than IGG to get any and all steam releases for free? Like lesser known games that the scene hasn't bothered to crack. I ask cause IGG installs adware on your system as well as having some other weird sort of tampering that people seem to consider DRM.
Same reason i dont pirate groceries or clothes.
Do you have even a simple understanding of capitalism user.
To make it simple for you
>dev releases game
>no one buys everyone pirates it
>devs go bankrupt
>talent in the industry is lost
It's all fun and games until it affects you.
For me that was Ace Attorney Investigations 2.
Never pirated again after that.
this
Thats really strange. Money is meant to be spent. Did you grow up poor? You got to shake those poor people mentalities off you or you'll never be happy. Buy the game after. Hell, buy friends by gifting them games, thats what I do.
more like you need something that isn't crapware
Because I like rewarding people who make my life better.
I don't oppose piracy on ethical grounds. But it is immoral.
I don't care about people with more money than me. I only care about making sure people with less money than me knowing how much better I am than them by default.
Because if a game isn't worth paying for, it isn't worth pirating.
You're telling me you wouldn't make perfect copies of your clothes or groceries if you could?
>muh physical copy
>devs go bankrupt
>talent in the industry is lost
much of the greatest content ever created was intentionally created for free. money does not make people creative.
Based and burgerpilled
Updates are not a good thing, that means the game was intentionally released unfinished and having an automatic updater encourages developers to release games unfinished. Reminder that (((Gabe))) said it was a bad thing that developers used to have to release games complete and playable without a patch.
>malware
>being too stupid to pirate
The video game industry is even worse than the movie industry which says a lot. The entire industry is rotten from indie to AAA
A download is neither a good or service
>Not wanting a copy of a game you can play 20 years from now without relying on some online service or account
Same.
Grew up poor and pirating so I actually know how much money is worth and 60 dollars or even fucking 30 is waaaaay the fuck too much for most of the games.
I will buy games that I like after pirating tho.
Otherwise I would rather spend on shit I cant get for free.
Like a nice dinner or a day at the spa.
He has a point. The problem is not physical or not. The problem is you buy nothing but a fickle license of usage that can be revoked for arbitrary bullshit.
>much of the greatest content ever created was intentionally created for free.
[citation needed]
>reading comprehension
Learn it.
instead of supporting shit devs like ubosoft (though they aren't as bad as they used to be) I used to just pirate their games. Now instead I ick them up second hand in bargain bins well after release.
Im not supporting greedy conglomerates but still supporting the industy, vaguely.
This industry has been my main hobby for 30 years. It's pirate fags and the map pack buying cowadoody fags wjo are responsible for killing small devs and making mega companies wealthy.
These are the real culprits of ruining the industry.
>discussing childrens toys
Come on faggot that shit aint gonna work here, vidya hasn't been directed specifically at children since the early 90s
>LMAO
Newfagging this hard I see
>conserving resources is bad
what did he mean by this
If the product is free then you are the product.
And by you I mean your computer mining monero.
Sounds like something a filthy poor person would do. Most physical items value comes from the demand of it vs the ability for people to supply it. If you make extra copies of something it loses its value to everyone except maybe you. Things are great when only you, or a select few can have them, this is something poor people and incels will never understand.
Piracy is not immoral and it is not moral.
Charging for a download is unethical and immoral.
Nah, completely and utterly wrong.
Videogames as we know it exist because they make money
If you can't speak english, get the fuck out, Pajeet
>Charging for a download is unethical, immoral, and communist
Ancap here. What the flying fuckaroo are you talking about. Forcing people to not pirate is communist. Selling a download is not. Might seem stupid. Might amount to a glorified donation. But it's not communist. Applying property rights to information and therefore outlawing piracy is.
the game of basketball
Why wold i pay for electricity when i can easily and safely tap in to power lines.
I only wish all my other neighbors would be smart enough too do it like me.
No way the power company would turn of power for our entire building if we all did so.
??? how many games are you downloading? 2 hours of work is enough to pay for a $60 dollar game if you're not an actual poorfag
Well thats more reason to pirate because videogames now are fucking dogshit.
You have no idea what those words mean. If I charge you for a bowl of my liquid shit, I am not being unethical or immoral. You are free to ignore me. At best you can say I'm being a weirdo. You act like offering you a download with a price tag is the eqivalent of putting a gun to your head and forcing you to buy it. Grow up.
>If the product is free then you are the product.
based 14 year old
>Videogames as we know it exist because they make money
but people would still make videogames if they didn't make money. human beings are driven to be creative and charitable with their art, not from money.
The point of throwing me money at it is that the devs get fucking paid so they can keep making games.
The argument of "you're paying for a license and if the company dissapears you're fucked" doesn't work because in the real world piracy is a thing, and the game files will forever be there for me to download at any piracy site.
I'm not spending my money because I want to BUY a license, I'm willingly sending my money to the devs for the entertainment they are giving me.
1. Ease of updates
2. No bitcoin miners
3. Its legal
4. Ease of having a library system. Can install and uninstall games with a single click, instead of hunting down old torrents and manually managing your install system
5. Multiplayer
t. someone who's never done any serious creative work ever
All good art comes from hunger. Most of that hunger comes from the fear of dying homeless and unrecognized. That's why artists usually suck dick after they make it.
Shitty paintings you do as a hobby is not art. Paintings you do to justify your existence and hopefully use to support yourself is art.
