I really liked Mass Effect 2, not so much with Mass Effect 3. Never played the first game, is the first one really that good? Graphics look dated

The sell point of the game is that it was a trilogy where choices from first and second game would matter. Since today we know how it ends, Mass Effect is trash. Decisions with no payoff.

Is it only me that thinks that ME2 and ME3 were carried by the cast/characters? Martin Sheen and Keith David were great, along with Meer/Hale. I honestly think that had Shepard and some of the crew not been in 2 or 3, they would have been shit on at the time, not exclusively by Yea Forums, almost a decade later.

ME3 was probably my favorite game of all time. It was the last game in the sereis and no other sequels or side stories have been made. The entire saga ended there.

I'm replaying ME2 on hard and finding it really unpleasant. I fucked up and picked vanguard which on harder difficulties is a mistake because popping out of cover for 1 seconds will find your shields decimated and your health halved.
Should've just went full on soldier and sniped and rifled my way through enemies and eschewed biotics.

ME3's ending wasn't just bad. It effectively destroyed the ME universe, forcing them to attempt a reboot with Andromeda.

I think most people consider the characters to be the best part of Mass Effect. The Reaper plot was never the most compelling part of the series.

It really didn't. It was, on the whole, completely uninterested in building up the world or explaining any of it. In places it uses what should have been a chance at world building to put in a quick one or two line handwave for whatever they wanted to do with the plot.

For example, in ME1 we learn that the Systems Alliance is the most fractured of the racial governments as it's just a front for the different nations of Earth to look organized in front of the aliens. In ME2 they say that there's serious discontent brewing between colonies and the Alliance. Why? So ME2 can have a plot without the Alliance having a presence. That's it. They don't bother to explain it, it's just bullshit made up to retroactively explain their decision to make a game without the Alliance in it.

Vanguard is piss easy though. Just charge and melee/shotgun everything. Works in every difficulty. Personally I find it the most fun since you still have to be careful with where you charge.

I did a full series run as Adept and everything after 1 felt like a downgrade because they crippled it to force you to rely on cover shooting. I also did a full run as Vanguard and 2 and 3 felt like upgrades because they focusing on improving what the class did well and made it more unique.

Also what the fuck is wrong with you if you consider the Adept in ME1 to have a lot of abilites.

Beacons show images of Ilos, not how to get there. Liara specifically mentions that she knew about the Mu Relay already and that it's the only way to get to Ilos. How does Saren know about it at all is anyone's guess.

no they werent. overheating stats and thermal sink attachments were way better. you could turn shotguns or snipers into one shot overheat death dealers or mod an assault rifle to fire near indefinitely. also youre never even close to running out of thermal clips even on insanity, its a worthless addition that only ruins the combat by adding a reload animation at the expense of greater gun customization variety. let me guess you liked having only 5 skills in ME:2 also.

I had everyone but Tali survive because apparently Grunt and Zaeed being my bros left too many pussies behind to defend the barricade.

Restarted the entire mission.

I managed to do it, but only because I knew that if you fucked up here people would die so I thought really hard about the choices.

On my first run, I rushed to recruit Legion and didn't realise that would cause the Collectors to attack before I could recruit everyone else and do their loyal missions, so I decided it was worth sacrificing most of my squad to not upset Chakwas.

Second time around I just hacked my save to give me Legion from the start and got all the extra dialogue you can never get legitimately because >consoles
