game is basically a bunch of tedious minigames. Like take legend of dragoon and crank it up to warioware without the charm. Also the loading screens take forever.

I haven't played it alright, so take my comment with a grain of salt. I only watched footages of it
The game is like anti-QoL. Almost everything are made without any thought put into it. Battles are slog to play. Everything feels longer than it should be. There's a part in the beginning where you follow a cat and the game shows us the cutscene of the cat's movement in the overworld all the way to the destination, until it gives you the control again. In a better game, it should just shows us instantly where the cat and the destination is without any of the waiting bullshit. Players ain't that dumb.
Characters are unlikeable and the writing came across as incredibly pretentious. The protags literally recites every actions he does in the game.
