Best looking 2D game ever.
Best looking 2D game ever
I wonder if Cuphead will become a hidden gem 10 years from now like Parasite Eve did
>hidden
nah Metal Slug games look way better.
Anything SNK does, really
Wrong game OP
skull girls
try again zoomer
Yeah, cuphead really is gorgeous. It was an absurd amount of work to get the game looking like that and it paid off.
Cuphead does have some seriously good animation. Makes me wish Disney would hire Chad to make a short
>a hidden gem
Cuphead has been fucking huge mate.
But yeah OP I agree, style is fucking flawless and fluid as fuck.
I hope none of you are actually serious.
every time i see cuphead i get sad that there will never be another who framed roger rabbit movie
anyone else?
Parasite Eve was pretty popular back in the day too, only to be mostly forgotten
Dude I wish that Western 2D animation can be good again.
Yeah, that too. Shrek killed western animation.
The art style is based 80-70 year old animation. You try again.
Nah, Toy Story did.
I blame Toy Story, Late Eisner Disney and Iger Disney for that man. That and my fucking retarded country's ideas that "lmao cartoons are for childrun!" shit
You just reminded me that Bob Hoskins isnt with us anymore
Metal Slug would be a serious contender if not for how bad common enemies look. Background is fine and bosses are gorgeous.
HK looks better than CH, though. Designers knew how to manipulate color scheme and layers to get the right aesthetics: Deepnest feels like the most tight spot ever and Green Path looks like you are actually deep in the woods.
CH has a great art style but fails at those things: just remember the robot fight or that sceleton horse - overlays are out of fucking place at all.
>HP. 4
Pong is pure perfection nothing can top.
Meowdy
imagine
>Metal Slug would be a serious contender if not for how bad common enemies look.
u wot? Enemies look fantastic in MS. The soldiers alone probably have more animation frames than any other enemy in video game history.
I want to hook up with that fish
the environments only get interesting later in the game though
that whole first area is so boring and gloomy to look at
yes, i know that's the point but it's samey as fuck until you're out of the first area
fucking excellently animated games held back from the recognition they deserve by above-average difficulty
Best looking game ever. You could show this game to someone 100 years from now and it'd still look amazing.
Literally impossible, what were they thinking?
That can be said of most 2d games.
Mewody, lil' Diddle Diddle.
They artstyle they picked is fucking atrocious and makes it look like a flash game.
>the "it looks like a flash game" meme
>Best looking 2D game ever.
That's got nothing on Dragon Crown, Odin Sphere and Muramasa the Demon Blade.
Soldiers, zombies, aliens, ets look pretty bland. Excluding uncommon soldiers like those on bikes, boats, with mine throwers, etc.
>Dorf Fort
>Rogue
>Tetris
I can do this the whole day.
All timeless. Might not look good to you, but those styles are timeless and will never age.
vanilla TF2
literally some of the most inspired and stylistic characters and settings to date
the whole overall aesthetic, even down to weapons, voicelines, and soundtrack, are all stylized so well
this game would have aged like fine wine if not for all the newer style-breaking hats
wait fuck, i didn't read 2D game
i'm so fucking sorry
That's fine, TF2 is one of the 3d games with a good artstyle.
Flash games really tainted the reputation of hi-res 2D graphics on Yea Forums, haven't they?
skullgirls also looks pretty cool
Xbox masterpiece. Cuphead made Xbox One a 2D classic machine like the Saturn.
No other Sony game has a art direction like this. Not a single one.
None of those look amazing and you know it. Good games, though.
Looks like an old newgrounds game
>TF2 fag can't read
i just thought we were talking about nice looking bideo games :(
Too bad it isnt fun at all to play. Should have been a really hard plataformer with that Contra gameplay only for boss battles.
No
this
boss battles are neat & inspired but the game lacks any further depth outside of watching the shooting animation while you dodge attacks and occasionally parry
platforming segments were shoehorned in at the last second and it shows so don't try and tell me those were any good
Nice cope. Whatever makes you sleep well at night, lmao
Don't be that guy, Transistor is a fairly well-known game made by a renowned studio. You can't just pretend to live under a rock for it for (You)s.
>renowned studio
need more games where u beat the boss by slappin her in the titties
It's 'howdy' you dumb cat
>no crossover art between lubella and giga mermaid
You are the one coping here, lmao. Cuphead shit onevery sony exclusive including AAA titles. Not even talking about gameplay, because it's a masterpieec in it's own league, plus has more replay value than all Ps4 exclusives combined too.
are you retarded
meowdy
meowdy
I must agree. And I'm a 2D art radical. This is an actual manifestation of the stylings Sonic, but moreso Mario, games were aiming for in the 90s. They're the only ones to finally do it. Imagine a Mickey Mouse Castle of Illusion that looked like this.
I bet you there'll be a remake and it'll be CG chars.
>it's an all female remake
>it's cgi
>it's all disney characters and nothing else
i love this game but i'm not that impressed with the artstyle compared to cuphead.
that's not metal slug
>Transistor
Never heard of this, lets go take a look at this "renowned studio"
>Supergiant
Who?
>Pyre
What?
>Hades
Huh?
>Bastion
Ohhh, a one hit wonder studio! Here's you (((you)))
rip her cooper ligaments
>one hit wonder studio
not even that, bastion fucking sucks
Cuphead is on PC as well though. However, I enjoy the fact that the game is NEVER EVER for Switch owners, just because they annoy me.
i've just starting playing it and i'm completely in love.
Take your gay fucking tumblr shit off my site.
Witcher 3 for me. I've never sunk 300 hours into single playthrough before (played with both DLCs though).
It was also culmination that all the books and first 2 games lead up to, so I was super invested and giddy about games finally addressing Tower of Swallow ending directly, I was already getting excited when Geralt began to regain memory in 2 and Ciri and Yen were namedropped.
I don't view it as canon and Geralt actually dying is the right ending, but I treat CDPR as great fan fiction.
Fuck, wrong thread.
