I wouldn't call myself a fan of a bunch of the DP designs, especially the hideous ones like Charizard, but those designs are comparably much, much, much more faithful than Sonic's design. The key difference between DP and Sonic is that while DP could have potentially a hundred different pokemon in it, Sonic just had one single design it had to get right, and it's abysmal.
