This will be the last Skyrim thread in the history of Yea Forums. Here we go. Does vanilla Skyrim still hold up as a good RPG? Is it one of Bethesda's true great games? Give any and all thoughts on this game.

what did he mean by this?
>Does vanilla Skyrim still hold up as a good RPG?
It never did. Choices and consequences are barebones as hell and world interaction is almost non existent. It's a decently enjoyable open world dungeon crawler with some RPG elements and that's it

So an actuak RPG like DnD envisioned and not autistic number simulators like nuRPGs are.
>implying D&D isn't an autistic number simulator compared to most RPG systems
But yeah, in this regard, it is somewhat faithful to very first RPGs. But the actual roleplaying aspect is in vanilla sucks
Properly modded Skyrim is the greatest game ever made, and no amount of bitching will change that.
This. It was always shit.
It would be if it had enough story elements to allow you to roleplay really well, but as it is in vanilla, there's not much to the RP side
Yes
This. I've played about 5hrs in vanilla and 500hrs in modded.
There's a reason it was still inthe top 5 most played games on Steam for so long after release, and would still be close to the top if not forthe split due to the SE
Is there any cute anime girl follower mod? I think I saw a Skyrim screenshot of one before and the girl had pink hair but I can't find it on nexusmods.
As far as OPEN WORLD CHECKLIST games go, it is very good, and I can't think of much better. The only people who don't like it are PC RPG fans that want more choices and world interactivity. It's certainly better than Oblivion, no matter how much nostalgiafags cry about "M-m-muh lack of interesting quests" when it improved on pretty much everything else.
Unpopular opinion: Skyrim had the best dungeons in the series. Yeah, they're linear as hell which is a flaw, but at least they try to be interesting They're much more varied graphically, are more vertical, have more mechanisms and traps and many of them try to have at least some simple story behind them, which makes exploring them a mini-quest by itself. 90% of dungeons in Morrowind and Oblivion were just a bunch of randomly slapped together completely identical rooms and corridors with some enemies and loot thrown in, without any sense behind it all.
So you never played Morrowind. OK. Maybe give it a try.
Don't you remember the fucking awful forts and caves of Oblivion with every corridor looking the same?
Yes, and Oblivion is shit too. But Oblivion is not fucking Morrowind.
It is a number simulator all skills go to 100 and the higher the number on your equipment the better it is
No it won't.
No, and it never did.
Fuck no.
There were some good quests, and the story wasn't terrible. The porn mods are good too.
bump
