Freedom Planet is better than Sonic Mania. I say that despite loving Sonic Mania. Holy shit, this just blown me the fuck away. The bosses are epic, the music is great, the level design is really good, the characters unique mechanics are really fun. Just fucking play this already, if it had sonic in the name it'd be the best rated entry in the franchise.

the game either runs like dogshit on your machine or it doesn't, even the dev himself suggested this.
It's an insanely poorly optimized game and the dev quite literally refused to keep working on bug fixing after release on the verge of tears because he was so burned out on it.

Great taste OP. Freedom Planet is one of my favorite games of all time at this point, and this is coming from someone who played nothing but the Genesis Sonic games growing up. Mania is the best Sonic game, but Freedom Planet is a true evolution of that style of gameplay by merging it with elements of other 16-bit platformers. The sequel is my most anticipated game of the year.
