Left - Soul. Right - Soulless.
Left - Soul. Right - Soulless
>haunted house game has genuine moments of humanity and charm
What the fuck lads I wasn't ready for this.
re2make has plenty of soul, that's why it's so good!
I honestly wish something horrible would befall faggots who use this shitty soul/souless garbage.
bump
That's why OG RE-games are top comfy kino, while the nu-REs are just edgy burger shit.
This is a pretty shitty comparison, but please do tell me what does REmake2 fails at where RE2 succeeds
based beyond belief.
>but please do tell me what does REmake2 fails at where RE2 succeeds
A & B campaigns actually being different, instead of literally the same shit.
OG also has more enemy types, better art-directing and soundtrack, no super-easy moodos that auto-save and auto-balance the game for you if you suck ass, and better script that does not pretend like rest of the OG trilogy's games would not have existed.
I was soo pumped for REmake 2 but having Mr. X chase you for most of the game sounds trite and dull as shit. It also doesn't sound like they've expanded the story/game beyond some minor things. I've lost interest in playing it!!!FACT!!!
>A & B campaigns actually being different, instead of literally the same shit.
And why is that bad?
>OG also has more enemy types,
Sure, I see where you're coming from, but they weren't that important
>better art-directing and soundtrack
Soundtrack I agree, but art directing? It seems in equal footing to me barely much difference honestly other than costumes
>no super-easy moodos that auto-save and auto-balance the game for you if you suck ass
Well you still have hardcore mode available, I don't see why you would give a fuck about other difficulties
>and better script that does not pretend like rest of the OG trilogy's games would not have existed.
I don't get this one, but I agree that the OG has better dialogue just cause I like silly cheesy dialogue
Overall I wouldn't say REmake2 a soulless remake, it was more of a look back to get back on their feet
Enjoy games
Left-Good
Right-Good
>Left-Good
>Right-Good
Left-good remake.
Right-bland shit.
wasnt dc the best port of this game?
How does it feel knowing a lot of people enjoy both games a lot?
I played the new RE2 and couldn't get used to the controls. It's like they're tank-but-not.
I couldn't juke for SHIT and it made me genuinely consider the easy mode.
>And why is that bad?
Are you seriously asking that why is removing content and reducing replay value even further a bad thing, in an implied "remake" of a mega-hit classic?
>but they weren't that important
Only in 2019 could peasants defend cutting content.
>but art directing?
Yes, the fucking art-directing (or lack of it) is fucking abysmal in the 2019 version. Everything is washed out gray, coated in non-black darkness, making the whole game world one endless, hazy corridor with no distinct character and atmosphere. It's mind boggling that the fucking sewers got the most lights of the whole game.
Don't get me even started with the uncanny-valley derp-face character models.
>Well you still have hardcore mode available
Not an argument. This is supposed to be a SURVIVAL-horror, and we live in a post-Dark Souls era.
>I don't see why you would give a fuck about other difficulties
Because the difficulties' balance is all over the place, with different modes providing extremely different experience and set of rules. Letting 66% of all players off without them having to look for Ink Ribbons is already a huge sin, but making the HC mode to be a bastion of artificial difficulty, with enemies moving at 2x speed and tanking up to 3x more damage, all while you get as low as HALF the ammo and supplies, is just bullshit.
>overall I wouldn't say REmake2 a soulless remake
I would. It's so clearly rushed out AND made by some junior B-team fags of the studio.
Being "above average" this day and age does not rise it above shit-status.
The 1st/2nd run in Resident Evil 2 remake sucks but let's be honest here, Capcom is finally going back to survival horror after giving us several mediocre action games for years. I'm not defending the lack of continuity in the remake, again, that sucks. The original did the A/B scenarios a hell of a lot better, but everything else we got was on point.
You'd have to be a complete autistic neckbeard to call the Resident Evil 2 remake "bad". 96% positive rating on steam, 4 million copies sold in less than a week. Just quit video games if you feel this way. You'll never be satisfied.
>96% positive rating on steam
Hitman Absolution has a 90% positive rating on Steam and I'd still call it a piece of shit
Get some taste.
I'm just waiting for R3make now. But I have to admit, it won't be the same without the shitty quality STARS.
>>OG also has more enemy types,
>Sure, I see where you're coming from, but they weren't that important
Not him, but that's just wrong. The varied enemy gallery was VERY important for the OG RE-games, and they could've expanded and improved it further in the remake if they wanted to. It's been already confirmed that spiders especially were originally in the game's alpha versions, but they were cut because they literally triggered the playtesters.
The 2019 RE2 does fine job at making players learn its "systems", AKA how to deal with different enemies, and how to improvise when multiple types are mixed in a same room. However, since you pretty much ever encounter two basic foes (zombies & lickers) at once, maybe 3 if you got Tyrant after your ass, the game runs out of surprises and assets way too quickly. I had high hopes for the dogs, but they only appear like twice in the whole game, and die out of a few hits, no matter what.
Imagine returning back to RPD, only to find the main hall taken over by webs and creepy crawlies, or having maybe non-lethal but character-stunning crows making dive attacks at your character's skull in open spaces. You'd instantly got more rules to think of, making the game deeper and more fun.
I'm also disappointed that they didn't implement a zombie-2-Licker mutation system the Outbreak games hinted of.
>You'd have to be a complete autistic neckbeard to call the Resident Evil 2 remake "bad"
>Just quit video games if you feel this way. You'll never be satisfied.
What ever you say, kid. Just because you've embraced trash as the new golden standard, does not mean I would have to drop mine in order to accept this bullshit state of the industry.
Just in the past 2 years, I've gotten to play some of the greatest games of my entire life. All brand new releases. REmake2, however, is not one of them, and certainly not what fans asked for and technically got promised of back in 2015.
They were important, but that was because different enemy types was pretty much the only way that a fixed camera tank controls game could make you fight them in different ways.
>defend cutting content.
one room enemies. wow so much cut
>fucking abysmal in the 2019 version
it looks fine and actually spooky. the only thing 2 did better was music but otherwise it's atmosphere was worse.
>the uncanny-valley derp-face character models.
only claire looked bad
>This is supposed to be a SURVIVAL-horror
and it is.
> is just bullshit.
that's still better than 2 giving you a bunch of ammo.
I prefer the original but this hate over the remake is dumb because it improved on some aspects of the original while still being a good game on it's own right.
>that was because different enemy types was pretty much the only way that a fixed camera tank controls game could make you fight them in different ways.
What the living fuck are you babbling about?
>one room enemies.
So fucking what?
Are you implying that the nu-RE2 replicates the OG game with 1:1 anyway?
Did you ever play REmake 1?
>it looks fine and actually spooky.
It looks ugly, and is not "spooky" at all. It's all the worst memes and clichés thrown in one big pile, making it look generic and uninteresting to boot.
>only claire looked bad
No, Claire just looks the WORST.
>and it is.
It's a horror-shooter, a la Dead Space.
It merely mimics some of the OG game's designs at certain points, but ultimately streamlines the whole thing into a pre-chewed bites for the zoomer generation.
>that's still better than 2 giving you a bunch of ammo.
Not an argument, and a pathetic attempt to avoid addressing the criticism.
>I prefer the original but this hate over the remake is dumb
No, it's not. It was a game comparable to Half-Life 3 for many people, a "never ever" dream project, that finally APPEARED to become true. With the tech and know-how of mid-2010s , the game should have been significantly bigger, badder and more innovative. It was pretty much none of those.
>good game on its own
It's mediocre at best.
>nu-RE2 replicates the OG game with 1:1 anyway?
no but the things it did cut were irrelevant.
>memes and clichés thrown in one big pile
lmao what does this mean? original RE2 looks like shit and is hardly spooky. Remake is objectively better in that manner
>Claire just looks the WORST.
yes and only her
>It's a horror-shooter, a la Dead Space.
it only takes the third person perspective but otherwise is nothing like a shooter. you can't waste away bullets.
>Not an argument
you deny that the original gave you shitloads of ammo thus lowering the difficulty?
>the game should have been significantly bigger, badder and more innovative
I don't know why you were expecting that. it's just a remake and doesn't need to stray too far. most peope were happy with what they got.
>It's mediocre at best.
it's great at best.
>flashbangs work against lickers
uninstalled and refunded right there
It's soulless because it's a reimagination and not a proper remake like the first one.
I'm 33. 1000% sure I'm older than you.
>loud noise affects sound based enemy
what sorcery is this
This, they both have soul
That actually means it has more soul, since it's more original
>implying guns stun lickers
you played yourself, retard.
Go troll somewhere else. No one is this dumb.
>i provide a counter point that completely destroys your entire argument
>"dude ur just dumb. end of discussion lmao"
based retard. stay btfo
I'm not even that user which pretty much proves my point.
My only peeve with REmake 2 is that the RPD is actually smaller and tje A/B Scenario are no different outside of the station. I found it a bit stupid that claire gets the heart key leon gets the club but it's just to get into the same room.
Plus, you dont even have to use all the keys fully to progress, just dump them in the box.
Why is it that practically everyone who is against REmake 2 always complains about HC difficulty?
if youre not him then you have no point.
you played yourself, retard.
Fuck off autist, im an OG RE fan and loved REmake 2. Yeah it has a few flaws, but it's not a 1:1 remake, it's a reimagining on the OG game.
I think they did a really well job by keeping the OG feel and survival horror, but also keeping the RE4+ faggots happy by making it a ott tps.
REmake 3 comes I will be happy to never play an RE game again
Fine, I'll take your bait and just assume you're not all that smart, which you have proven in the last few posts, and since the last user hasn't provided an argument for your dumb ass, then I will:
Flashbangs blind you and are loud enough to make you deaf temporarily, that's why they are called flash"bangs". Going back to your gunshot argument, which is already weak to begin with, isn't even to make you deaf. The decibel to a pistol gunshot ,assuming, we're talking about handguns here, is about 140-150 db. A flashbang is 170-180 db.
Just in case you don't know what db means is stands for decibels, and for reference 180 db is about 100 times louder than a gunshot.
Now fuck off, you're not getting another (you).
Because they are boomer shitters who cant aim if they use a controller and cant juke if they use keyboard
>no but the things it did cut were irrelevant.
No. Fuck you, and fuck your kin.
Go hype your "lol X gunna give it to ya!" meme game somewhere else.
I'm a very old HC fan of originals, and I hated the demake.
It did not capture the OG feel in any way.
TY for enabling shit tho'.
I think it's because of the increased difficulty compared to standard. I haven't played hardcore myself yet but afaik mr X is double speed, every bit of damage puts you on danger, less inventory space, less bullets (also gunpowder is replaced with ribbons) and everything takes more damage.
Basically to get through hardcore you can't "play" the game, you have to autismo speed run it just to get through it.
Of course nothing like OG RE2.
Personally I prefer no ribbons because it's an archaic system. Even in the OG games ribbons were by the typewriter, which was normally next to a box, they were just there to fuck with your inventory while exploring. Plus you couldn't discard them.
Though the limited ammo and take more dam enemies will piss me off in hardcore that would make standard the best difficulty. But standard is too easy.
Sounds like shit balancing
>projecting this hard
>trying to start a maaaa PC is better consoles are shit
Look faggot just because you are shit at vidya you can't use a control pad, doesn't mean the rest of us are.
>Look faggot just because you are shit at vidya you can't use a control pad, doesn't mean the rest of us are.
I never implied that. I said these people can't aim with a controller probably because they've always thought "hah controllers are for n00bs I only play Q3 with my twitch-aim gaymer mouse". Then this game comes around and they can't move precisely unless they use controller so they get fucked in hardcore when they either can't aim for shit w/ the controller or can't dodge for shit with the mouse and kb
>muh crows and spiders
>It did not capture the OG feel in any way.
Yea, it captured the horror more. If you remember the OG game, everything was all bright and happy. There was no scary ambience at all except maybe spiders in the sewers, which depends on your own thing with spiders and I suppose the dark tram elevator place, which they did fuck up in the REmake.
Of course you have to take this as your first playthrough because after 1 or 2 runs the game looses it's horror vibes and becomes a memory game with some rng.
Just like the OG game minus the rng.
>needs to assume the least loudest to have a point
thats not how you prove the argument that loud noises stun lickers, brainlet. you would have to assume at least a shotgun blast right next to the licker - which you can do in the game.
but we both know your retarded ass is backpeddaling and would never admit you played yourself with that stupid post
Why do people try and hate re2make so much? It's easily the second best AAA game this generation after Bloodborne
Lol wut
The speed run WRs are all done on PC with a KB&M.
It's popular as fuck on PC.
I think what you are trying to say is that YOU bought it on PC and YOU can't play the game with a KB&M so YOU are butthurt that you have to play it with a controller but YOU are shit at vidya so YOU haven't even learned how to play vidya or aim with a controller, and because of this you are projecting that all others are retarded faggots because YOU are a retarded faggot.
Sound about right?
