Serious Sam technically counts

What is Assassin's Creed Origins ?

>People on Yea Forums actually admit to liking this series now.

Whats next unironic Skyrim worship?

nice b8
Most Yea Forums admitted black flag was fine

This, though it's not Ancient Egypt it's as close as you are going to get.

>guise do I fit in yet
kys

kys

does it though

>kys

If you like Ass Creed I cordially invite you to do the same.

yes it does, fuck you
egypt is iconic in serious sam

I agree there needs to be more authentic Egyptian games not made by Ubisoft.

Fuck off OP

Ancient Egypt is one of THE most common pre-gunpowder historical settings in games after Medieval Europe and Feudal Japan, alongside stuff like greece/rome.

If you wanna talk about worthwhile settings that really, truly are lacking in good vidya

>Mesoamerica
>India/Southeast Asia
>Ancient Anatolia
>The Andes
>West Africa

AC Origins is alright. Also Age of Mythology and the original Age of Empires has an Egypt campaign. Apart from them I don't think there's too many.

b-but what about The Mummy for PS1?!

I... Is that porn?

I've wanted a first-person RPG set in ancient Egypt or a pre-colombian civilization for years.

>awaken, my masters!

>what is Powerslave
>tfw when no turok remaster type remaster
There is a fucking cock ring on the image what do you think

Don't mind me

West Africa is still waiting to develop civilization. Kind of hard to set anything there.

>If you wanna talk about worthwhile settings that really, truly are lacking in good vidya
>posts shit nobody cares about
zzzzzz

Nobody cares about it because nobody does cool shit with it.

People didn't give a rat's ass about Egypt before the egyptology-mania in the 1800's, and japan wasn't so widely demanded in media before the 80's and 90's when japanese media started to get traction here.

Make enough cool shit with those settings and they'll catch on

Good looking but boring. OP wants good.

Shitposting aside west african kingdoms and empires were complex and developed, comparable to like the smaller kingdoms of the early middle ages.

Attached: Sunni Ali Ber, Songhai empire.jpg (900x469, 152K)

Nobody cares about them because they're shit nobody cares about.

Everyone knows about those settings but they're just overshadowed by ones that are much more interesting. Don't act like nobody knows about it, and its just a question of time until the public learns how "cool" they actually are.
Everyone knows, nobody cares. Its trash, move on.

Here, historically accurate strategy game made in collaboration with actual egyptologists.

>africa bc: loin clothes and spears
>africa ac: loin clothes and spears
>africa 2000: loin clothes and spears
>white africa: technology and sanitation
really makes you think

I usually post faster than I think, already found the sauce and busted a nut.

Bu the king of Mali had so much gold!!!1!!
They had shovels and Islam and perhaps even hole technology.

You're forgetting one key word from OP's post

You are you absolutely fucking delusional if you think that the average person knows 1 or 2 facts about any of those regions or their history. Most people don't even fucking know that the Mesoamericans had writing/books, actual cities, and in general weren't just tribes who built big pyramids. You sure as hell don't, because if you did you'd know that Mesoamerica and India/Southeast asia both shit on Ancient Egypt in terms of complexity and what they offer.

Hell, just to prove my point if you or anybody else in this thread can name

>3 Mesoamerican civilizations othere then the Olmec, Aztec, and Maya
>3 notable Mesoamerican cities other then Tenochtitlan, Texcoco, Tlacopan, Tikal, Chichen Itza, and Palenque,
>3 notable rulers or specific indivuals other then Montezuma I or II or Pacal

I'll post a photo of me punching a hole through my wall. ANd if you just scour wikipedia for that info, I'll know.

Come again?

oops forgot my tfw

>haha NIGGERS amirite?

West Africa had formalized goverments as well as actual towns/cities, armies, etc; Just because they got it via the middle east spreading civilization there doesn't mean it doesn't count: Europe only got civilization from the middle east spreading it there as well.

/thread

There's also Children of the Nile. Honestly, OP, I'm beginning to think you can't even do a google search.
But I guess this sort of tactic will get you more replies - if you post "hey guys I want some Ancient Egypt vidya to play, can you recommend any good ones?" you'll get like two replies, whereas if you reply
>tfw no good Ancient Egypt video games
you'll get dozens of people going "NO FUCK YOU, HERE HAVE ALL THE ANCIENT EGYPT VIDYA EVER MADE"
I see what you're playing at.

Because it'll be obvious that they just scoured a few pages for said info.

Forget your meds there, little buddy?

Imagine defending barely human inhabitans of africa and america, and then lying about them having civilization

Nothing came from these shitholes that changed the world because they were barely human, and the only mistake white man did was not kulling them all

Pres D to dab on dead, loser, worthless "civilizations"

>animals from the neck down
That would be ancient Mesopotamian gods. Egyptian gods were animals from the neck up.

t. WaKANGda national

first encounter for sure does

there are these games
not to everyones taste but relevant at least

While Serious Sam does take place in Egypt, it is not a good video game.

Remember, that vidya teaches that ghettos are needed for progress
GREAT TASTE

Once those 2 guys are done killing Odin i hope they move on to fuck up egypt

>AC Origins
>Ancient Egypt

There's less time between us and Cleopatra than there is between her and the building of the Great Pyramids.

Egypt in AC Origins is genuinely the most detailed and beautiful world in any video game. Shame the gameplay and story are so standard, safe, and dull.

you fucking retard, Mexico is like the third most archeologically rich country on the planet, and is only one of 3 places to have indepedently invented writing alongside Mesopotamia and China.

It outright had cities bigger the Rome when during the Roman Republic, and pic related was bigger then Rome when Rome was at it's largest (by physical expanse, anyways: wasn't as densely populated). by 200AD Almost all of Mesoamerica was urbanized and filled with state socities as much as Europe and Asia was, and had comparable city populations to what you see in early classical antiquity and contemporary europe as of the time of contact, with the Aztec captial being twice as big as the then largest city in europe in physical expanse and as large in terms of population

>defending Mexico

Attached: 1548674650155.jpg (473x591, 37K)

sheeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit

so much for their civs when they just destroyed themselves in a shitload wars and by the time Spaniards appeared they were literal nobodies without all that hard-to-find pre-Aztec/Mayan/Incan culture

I dont get it, if mexicans were so smart then why are they so low IQ now?

u wuz sayin wite boi???

Attached: 1545338974438.jpg (864x578, 439K)

Take a guess ? Populations a a whole are not smart, the only people that are really important are elites in general and scientists in particular. Without them there is no technological advancement.

I don't give a shit about modern mexico

Your understanding of Mesoamerican history is pretty wrong, user, see pic related There WAS a series of collapses around 800 AD or so, but it wasn't this giant, cataclysmic event that made everything so much less advanced, it just meant that a large number of formerly poowerful cities became abanonded and other cities and empires filled the power vacumn.

The period from 800 to 1521 AD, especially 1200AD to 1521, had a number of advancedments. Writing may have become less common and writing systems less complex, but on the flip side, you had increasingly complex political and adminstrative systems, with a move away from a theocratic priestly rule/divine kings to more martial-controlled, bureaucratic states, with the Aztec cities cities having increasingly complex legal and bureaucratic systems with various governmental inisutitoions, and the Purepecha empire forming a true imperial system with directly governed subordinate cities; stuff like complex spy networks became common. There was an increasing emphasis on military development and complexity, with more large scale pragmatic conflictsl, as well as increasingly complex metallurgy, with Bronze smelting starting to be a thing

Also the Inca belong to a completely seperate cradle of civilization like 4000 miles away, they have their own set of civilizations and history.

>all of your books, literature, philsophivcal works, historical records etc burned, cities demolished, 95% of the population die from dieases, and then the survivors and their decesdents being at the bottom rung of racial caste systems where they were kept ueducated and poor for centuries, with corrupt colional officials which gave way to corrupt military dictactors

Gee, I don't know

Attached: mesoamerica history summary.png (1457x1555, 343K)

So what kind of game would you make in this setting?

Yes the slave trade was huge

Honestly, any sort of game that works in ancient egypt, greece, china, persia, or even medivial europe/china would work there, the only real huge difference is the lack of horses.

So pretty much anything other then racing or FPS would be doable. I'd personally really like a city-builder and/or empire mangement game set in it, sort of like a combination/mix of old Impressions titles or anno, combined with grand strategy.

Mesoamerican diplomacy and geopolitics is particularly interesting since Mesoamerican's tended to avoided directly ruling conquered or subserivnt cities, and instead used political manipulation via stuff like political marriages, spy networks, installing rulers, establishing vassal/tributary relationships, and a system that hinged on prestiege, connections to proir respected civillizations and the threat of implied military action to cement their own political power. So there's a lot of fun game mechanics and systems in a strategy game you could build around that sort of stuff, so the emphasis is less nessscarily on direct warfare and more about political machinations and manipulation.

Attached: Montezuma's Palace besides the city center ceremonial plaza (off to the right), in Tenochtitlan (1200x800, 323K)

Tomb Raider 4 nailed the setting

>so the emphasis is less nessscarily on direct warfare

meant to say "less on direct empire mangement", warfare would still be as big a deal, though due to the lack of horses mesoamerican warfare was also a bit different

Why do brainlets think "ancient" means "old kingdom" when the word usually designates the Summerian (start of Western literature) to Roman (pre-Medieval) times?

Good job son

>already killed the greeks
>movies on to germanic
>"EGYPT NEXT!"
If he's already killed the greeks, the egyptians must have been dead for at least 1000 years.
Fucking mutt education.

When specifically talking about Egypt the difference is just too big. By 1st century BC Egypt has been conquered and incorporated by several larger empires and the high point of its civilization is a distant memory, the land filled with ruins, cities reclaimed by the desert and tombs that were already plundered centuries ago.

Placing Old Kingdom and New Kingdom under the same term is already a stretch, including Ptolemaic/Roman Egypt is just silly.

i don't know what i expected when i entered this thread.
