not op, but I'd agree that it's one of the best open world games ever made. The world is beautiful and feels appropiate in scale. Story isn't particularly amazing however the game has excellent mission variety (far far better than just about any open world game out there) and quite a lot of memorable moments.

It needed to be longer and utilize the map more, and the story needed a better pay off, but it's a great single player game overall. Online is shit.

Played it on three consoles and bought it on release. Never fully experienced the online or beat the story though.

Any open world game that punishes you for causing chaos by infinitely spawning psychic police to kill you is instantly shit, this is ignoring that this is a GTA game and should be doubly criticized for this.

Half the heists don't even give you real options. And out of the options you do get, most of them work out almost exactly the same. It's a damn shame because heists were the whole deal of this game but most of them sucked. The first heist, the country bank heist and the last heist were the only ones I liked. And the country bank heist was only fun because you get to go nuclear, it wasn't REALLY a well designed mission and neither did it give you any choices. So really there were only two good HEIST missions.

This is the only game that I've purchased 3 times across 3 different platforms. It's just fucking fun and has a little bit of everything for everyone. Shame that Rockstar said they're not going to be making anymore GTAs because the real world has become more ridiculous than their satire.

San andreas beats it by a mile. Ive been replaying it recently and its pretty baffling how hard r* dropped the ball when it came to 4 and 5 because SA has so much more shit to do

5 is the worst 3D GTA game and the open world was empty as fuck
The online mode is especially awful

Opinion from someone who just started playing it past week, PS4 version, my favorite GTA was Vice City because of Tony, setting and soundtrack, just finished the mission where Trevor and Michael met after the failed heist

Pros:

>Nice /fa/ customization options, even for Trevor who originally dresses like a walking shit
>Assisted Aim is a godsend on consoles, and specially on a console GTA
>Driving controls could be better, but they're mostly better than past games
>Los Santos is an interesting, colorful place, way better than Liberty City on IV
>Soundtrack panders to my tastes, really diggin Radio Mirror Park (Toro y Moi and Neon Indian are fucking great) and Blonded stations
>Good optimization for the most part
>Michael is a nice and interesting protag, Franklin could be, kinda like that "good boy" vibe of him (I haven't finished the game yet)
>Modern satire is everywhere and it almost always hits the point
>Abilities are fine I guess, Trevor's nice, the rest are meh

Cons:

>No anti aliasing on console
>Muddy textures
>Mash X to run is still there for some fucking reason
>Shooting sucks, but at least it's tolerable on console if you enable Assisted aim
>Trevor, so far, is an insufferable asshole with zero redeemable qualities, at least his VA is good, also his hometown is fucking boring to explore
>Rockstar Mission Structure(R) became stale 10 years ago
>Convulted storyline thanks to having three protags

There's absolutely no reason why a bunch of the mp content couldn't be ported to SP. This is Rockstar signalling that they no longer give a shit aboutthe SP gameplay they became famous for. I won't be buying GTA6

I played it and he's right, there really is a surprising lack of content outside of the easy main story and mediocre S&F missions. It'd be nice if they added some stuff from GTAO to screw around with in singleplayer besides some crappy ass weapons but R* doesn't give a fuck.

P2P servers, which means you mostly connect with people who have shitty internet, resulting in awful load times and crashing.
Everything is ridiculously expensive, so unless you make a full time job out of grinding or buy shark cards, you're not going to be able to keep up.
Everyone just flies around on the Oppressor MK2 blowing shit up.
Finding a full lobby and sitting in your apartment watching people rage in the chat while the death messages fill the screen is the only real entertainment available online. Even playing with friends isn't great because it's just the same small handful of repetitive minigames.

The world is well made but the game sucks all the fun of it.

Nothing like punching someone just for some little joke and having to spend 5 minutes evading some boring ass 2 star chase.
