The 6th gen and previous gens had undeniably beautiful visuals, but they were also affordable to produce and left your imagination to fill in the blanks. Modern graphics are TOO good, they're photorealistic and therefore boring as sin because who wants to look at something they see every day? Even modern anime/weird artstyle games are too perfect, too clean, too manufactures. It's blatantly obvious that this is no longer the work of a small team of creative people.

Despite the improvement in fluidity of motion, precision of control and response times gameplay has taken huge steps backwards. They have all this control and what do they do with it? Stick you in a lumbering, clunky tank of a character to give the game "realistic weight". The west is obsessed with giving more priority to the player WATCHING their character's smooth animations that PLAYING the game. Japan isn't much better, they occasionally strike gold but piss it all away by chasing dumb trends like open world.
Don't talk to me about indie games, they're not real games. They're piss poor mismashes of classic games created by talentless hacks ripping off their favourite childhood games.
