MMOs are dead, killed by Discord/Twitter social platforms, by burnt-out players not being able to "invest" in another MMO quite the same way ever again and the shitty f2p models (or even worse subscribe + cash shop, getting fleeced both ways)

No the only things that can survive is WoW and its newer and hip estranged weeb skinned clone FFXIV
Look at FFXIV's cash shop. Sub Fee and a 400+ item cash shop with prices averaging around $15-20. WoW is no better either.
