I actually really like the design a lot. I'd like to see more western design that doesn't emulate realism but goes for a classic cartoon style.

Well he is made, but still technically born. He's made out of light rays and "magic" via the Betilla's magic in the pre origin story of origins.
How does Rayman put that shirt? Assuming that is a shirt and he's not some kind of living beanbag chair.
It just "is". Cartoon logic, but he can pull off his clothes as seen in Rayman M, when Globox steals his shoes, Rayman has socks underneath.
