Here's what's going to happen - First there will be a small DLC with Lady and Trish cleaning up some remaining demons in Redgrave, which introduces on the fly character switching. Once that happens and they've ironed it out, they'll release an expansion with Dante and Vergil in hell finally going to finish off Mundus.

If it's actually fleshed out and not retreading again then that wouldn't be so bad.

If you've seen footage of his boss fight, most of his moveset from 4 is already in. I can't imagine it would take super long to make him actually playable, just the content he's actually in taking a while. Trish or Lady would probably take longer.

That was sad. Even worse when you realize that they wanted to die. They got to be separate from Vergil. No matter what happened to him, they could go on living. Yeah, Lady and Trish probably will need heavy reworks if they want them to remain 'canon'. Though it wouldn't surprise me if they just decided to say screw it and still gave Trish Sparda. Lady seriously needs a rework though, her whole moveset in 4 was a mess of ideas and only because they needed her to be able to get through Nero's levels.

Yes, it has the exact same moves. Getting 1 just means having the Rocket launcher early. Having both means you get a single new move for it.

More like London, but yes. It was rather stupid. Really this makes it even more funny, since Mundus took over almost 10 years to find Dante, with a fucking name like that. Did the guy not give a shit about human city names to realize that maybe, just maybe this kid with the same name as the city where he found Dante, must be Dante?

They could easily give Trish Alastor and call it a day. It's a reference to her debut game after all, and they seem to be all about those kinds of throwbacks this time around. Fits her lightning theme way better than Sparda ever did. Hell, just give her reworked versions of all the DMC1 weapons and you've got yourself a pretty good basis for a character's moveset.
Lady on the other hand was a mess in DMC4. I've seen a lot of people float around the ideas of giving her all the old, unused guns like Pandora, Spiral, and of course Artemis since she's linked to it in this game, but that doesn't change her slow and boring melee which needs some work too. She's probably the biggest mess of the bunch that needs fixing, but both Trish and her have such strong potential for both fun movesets and tons of fan service.
I love Lady so much, it hurt to see how bad she played in 4. Hope she gets a full rework if they make her playable.

It was kind of clear even in DMC3 that it did. We just kind of assumed that she would eventually be able to move passed it, but she never did. I think that makes her character way more relatable though and the events of 3 that much more impactful. Really it feels like all of the moments from the previous games lead into 5 a lot, even 2. The Uroborous company now being Agnus' place of work means that the Secretaries are now related to the whole Angelic demon transformation.

Bingo did a great job making it feel like the universe was condensing to this one point and really puts a lot of impact to being the end of the sons of sparda saga.

Nah, I think it was the other way around. Sparda was impulsive and did shit just because he felt it was right at the time. He went around the world ruling various places and then skipped town after a while. He even left Eva and the kids, for no reason.

She lost it at the start of 5 and Dante finds it in a mission. Lady had Nico make a second one, but Nico gives it to Dante, so he ended up taking both to hell with him.

Mundus was too busy with stalking Vergil, sending goons after him and seething every time 8 year old Vergil would blow them the fuck out. This isn't even a joke! Mundus was getting JUST'd by 8 year old kid for that entire time.

It just shows that 3 weeks later Vergil and Dante are having a friendly duel in hell and are arguing over who's up in the score by wins now. Then they stop to fight more demons and Vergil gets mad cause Dante says Jackpot.

A2. B mode is fucking great and something that would have an interesting twist. DT usually regens and gives great power but one that is an active hazard for power would be fun. She could regen by dealing combo finishers.

Everyone in this series is horribly perturbed by traumas of the past. Ironically, Hot Head Nero is the sanest of the group as seen in the ending of 5.

You should know better then to ask those kinds of questions Vergil. Even under different circumstances, who we are as people makes such answers impossible to know for sure and even less important to be asking. All we can do is live the lives we have now, instead of constantly dwelling in the past.

I know that, but Mundus was still searching for Dante. Vergil took up most of his time, but he had Gilver/ Prototype Angelo searching for Dante and finally found him when he was like 16. Dante still fucking killed it in only a few attacks after figuring out it was a demon, but still. Gilver did end up killing Nell and a bunch of other people that Dante cared about.

Best case scenario: Bloody Palace.

Worst Case Scenario: After Trish, Lady, and Lucia are playable.

he's a plot device, not a character. He looks stupid and wouldn't feel good to play as.

Isn't Argosax kinda... dead? Maybe it would have been more interesting to use something happening at the ruins of the Uroboros company, a mutated demon emerging or all the demonic artifacts they gathered messing with the separation of the worlds on that place.

It would be better if they involved the few remnents of the Order of the Sword finding any of the active research facilities of the Uroboros company. Surely they have a lot of devil arms and would still be working on artificial demons. Lucia would want to stop that shit and Vergil might be curious about the order of the sword because of Nero's mother and looking for information on who she was and if she's still alive. Lucia could have a moment where she mistakes Vergil for his brother.

No, she's going to learn magic so that she can try to summon Dante back from Hell.

Instead she gets into a contract with three demons that she is pretty sure aren't looking out for her best interest, but is now forced to help them out or else be tortured in hell for eternity. Dante and Vergil appear at the last minute to kill the demons and save her.
